When storylines become reality. Austin doesn't like losing who can blame him, especially to Mark Henry at Taboo Tuesday. Christian hasn't faced a marquee talent without being buryed. Will Austin show at Taboo Tuesday? Will Christian resign? What do you think?
Caliban
If I was Austin, and I'd been told that I was going to lose to Coach due to Mark Henry's interference, I'd have walked out too.

Mark freaking Henry?

One of the top ten worst WWE wrestlers in history, if anyone ever made the list.
FanNBham
In this particular case, I disagree.

Whether or not JR was going to come back to the announcer's table the WWE has plans for him and plans to give him the honor he is due.

Austin might not like jobbing under certain circumstances -- but this is a case that calls for jobbing. It's early in the Feud with the McMahons and there's no reason for him to come out on top this early. Okay, were talking about one of the greatest and most known names in wrestling and they're asking him to lie down to Coach. Would losing to Coach hurt Austin? No, it would be an obvious screw job and always remembered as such. It would be remembered as a storyline and not a match.

Even with Batista now as the opponent to Coach -- I still think Austin shows up at the end.
Austin316
Well I liked the Coach vs. Austin feud, when it didn't involve jobbing.

Ever since Steph did that, it's been stupid, and unbelieveable. He's Stone f'in Cold! That'd be like Hulk Hogan doing a match at Taboo, and losing to X-Pac.

I mean, I understand Austin losing, but come one, someone better than Mark Henry. I mean seriously. I'd rather have Bischoff run out there, than Henry.

I just think it's dumb. Austin used to compete for WWE titles, not fight announcers.
thedogg001
Austin is at a point in his career where he doesn't really have to wrestle, he wants to. The man wouldn't even try a comeback if he didn't miss the ring. Wouldn't your pride be hurt if you were him and your comeback match was not against another wrestler but an Annoucer. You might as well have Carson Daley going over Austin. Does David Arquete ring a bell? Come on Vince keep your guys together.
Caliban
Again, I say to you FanBham, if you are so desperate to see Austin and the McMahons feud, go buy a tape or two, there were plenty made, since they FEUDED FOR YEARS.

The feud should have stayed dead, not recycled. I'm glad Austin's walking out has killed dead the WORST angle of the year. No-one on the planet wanted to see Coach win via interference. Everyone predicted it would happen. It would have gone over like a lead baloon.

Plus we might even get Joey Styles as a permenent announcer out of it.
Juice66
Im going to have to agree with caliban.
And like you said....Joey Styles...that would be great!

It's fine that you don't want to see Austin or don't like the current angle. I'll even go so far to say the the Creative Team should be ashamed because the came up with a storyline that depended on Austin but didn't get him to sign off on it before it started.

But how can you possible say that no one on the planet wants to see a new spin on the Austin vs. McMahon Angle? Austin's Homecoming Promo is still the highest rated segement for RAW in years. The numbers speak the truth.
Austin316
I agree with you Fan, on the Austin vs. McMahon feud.

To me, Austin vs. McMahon, is like Hatfield vs. McCoy. Austin and the McMahon's will be bickering forever, and it's part of the novelty of both Austin & the McMahon's legacy as far as i'm concerned. Some of the funniest times in WWE history have been the Austin vs. McMahon moments. I nearly cried during "Raw" a few weeks ago, from the laughter and joy I got, seeing Austin and Steph going at it, and Austin making jokes on her like the old days. It was so great to see that again ... and then ... they trailed off into this Austin vs. Coach thing ... and it was like "What?!?!?" "What are you doing?!?!?", everything was going great again until they did that.

I mean, jobbing against Coach was a slap in the face to Austin. If Austin had the right agent, he'd be in the exact same place as The Rock, with acting, 'cause both of their acting abilties are equal, as was their stardom in the WWE. I'd probably say Austin even more, because although The Rock became legend, he was never a household name, like Austin was in the late-90's/early-2000's.

Ya'll may or may not have seen my post on this board about internet news sites. But it seems Austins INJURY may just be that an injury (due to a lack of credibility from those sites I know). Due to misreports things have been twisted and we'll all probably never know what really went down concerning the angle being pulled. Evidently Austin hurt his back and was unable to compete. The man will never be fully recovered from neck and knee injuries so I would understand his hesitance in participating in a losing angle when he only has a few matches left in him.

Would you want to participate in an angle that reflects a true life situation involving your best friend? It has happened to Jim Ross, Edge, HHH, and countless other sports entertainment superstars. To a certain extent because these folks are in the spot light they are open game, but from their own company? Come on, for god sakes half Jim Ross's of his body is partly paralyzed, leave the man be. If you want to move on, part ways the right way. Don't do the America's Funniest kick in the manhood gag. It's cheap heat on a cripple. It's a Howard Stern ratings stunt and only a temporary lift. Give me Austin - Mcmahon but please leave Jim Ross out of it.

Exactly!
Exactly!
Plus, EXACTLY!
Austin316
Yeah, but Jim Ross is a trooper. JR probably asked for that to be done. At least with his absence, it could add a storyline to the WWE, whereas him just taking a leave of absence for colon surgery, would just leave them replacing him with Coach, and that be that. At least this way they can play an angle with it.

I think JR would rather bow out with a bang, than just leave quietly.
Caliban
I'm sure JR asked for the storyline where Kane set him on fire too... and when he joined the Kiss My Ass Club... and when he and Lawler feuded with Al Snow and that man again The Coach only two freaking years ago... or not. It's all recycled garbage. I'm sure Ross feels the same way. Deep down behind the shilling, JR is an old-school wrestling fan, and he hated being a part of any angles...

He got humiliated on WWE TV more times than any character I can recall!
Austin316
JR asked for it.

If he didn't like it, and he didn't ask for it, then he wouldn't be working for them. He's made his money and his mark. He doesn't have to do it anymore, he only does it for the love of the sport.

IT'S Called ACTING! JR the man didn't get anything. The character he portrays for the WWE got humiliated.

Real life people and Characters are not the same thing. Even the USA Network knows this -- Their Current Slogan -- Characters Welcome.

Folks, all of this is make believe.
thedogg001
Okay before we burst out all the insults yes a line is being blurred some of us are talking about characters and some of us are simply saying how could JR the WWE employee agree to do these things. I.E. WHY? and for what reasons. No one's living in the world of pretend, no pixie dust, or butterflys just people talking bout Wrastlin.

Where can I get some rose-tinted spectacles like you seem to wear all the time FanBham?

They're called impartiality -- I'm not sure about the colors it comes in as mine are clear sighted!
thedogg001
Rose Tinted Spectacles? HA. I'm riding the pony of injustice. I took the train of freedom. I flew on the plane of choice. I ride the tricycle of purity. I am Batman. WHOOOO.
