I was the biggest DX fan during their prime. I loved DX, and their prime during the Attitude-era, was probably my favorite time of any in the WWE.

Unfortunately, so many things have changed in 5-6 years, that I don't see how it could be done right.

Firstly, DX without Shawn Michaels, simply didn't have teeth. Shawn is as necessary to DX, as Triple H was. Triple H floating DX, simply just wasn't interesting to me. Triple H is not a likeable character to me, and never will be. There's a likeablity to HBK, and to me to have that offset of bad guy (HBK), and even-more bad guy (HHH), was what gave balance to the DX dynamic.

The only way I could see it working is if they were to at least reunite BOTH Shawn & Triple H as the leaders of DX. The people put around them could vary, as the rest weren't all that important (even though the NAO were badass).

DX was kinda dropped after Shawn left for a short time, then revived with just Triple H, then dropped again, then revived later with a mostly new group of people, that just didn't fit. To me, when Steph Mac joined, it was just a joke from there on out, and it didn't last much longer before it was dropped all together.

Plus the attitude of fans have changed. I don't know how cool it'd be in 2005/06, having 'Suck It' be the main phrase in the WWE. In 1998/99 it was fun, and cool, but now, it may just come across as dumb.

To me, if they were to revive it, it'd have to be Shawn AND Triple H at the helm, and I highly doubt seeing that happen, seeing how the both of them can't stand each other, and have been just as big on their own, with a combo unit of a group.

To me, if DX were revived today, the right way at least, it'd be something like HBK, HHH, Matt Hardy, Lita, and Carlito. To me, Edge doesn't fit in a DX mold, although Matt & Lita would, but seeing how they aren't partners anymore, I wouldn't see that happening.
