Who's the OCD PI who always saves the day?
A-D-R -- I-A-N -- M-O-N-K (Hey!)!

Adrian Monk! (NATALIE!) Adrian Monk! (NATALIE!)
Forever looking for Trudy's killer! (Grrr! Grrr! Grrr!)

Come along and solve the crime, in the City by the Bay!
A-D-R -- I-A-N -- M-O-N-K (Hey!)!
memebeck49
OTB--

Great Monk song!!! LOL.

Og--

Sorry to disagree, but some of the beginning song goes:

Who's the leader of the club that's made for you and me?
M-I-C-K-E-Y-M-O-U-S-E

Mickey Mouse (Donald Duck)
Mickey Mouse (Donald Duck)

Forever let us hold his banner high, high, high, high

Come along and sing our song and join the jamboree

M-I-C-K-E-Y-M-O-U-S-E

Like I said, don't mean to disagree, but that's the part I remember from the opening song.

And, I always wanted to be Karen, the youngest girl. She was just sooo cute and I wasn't.

Meme
Tami
OtB! Beautiful! Love it!

Meme, don't forget:

Hey there, Hi there, Ho there.
You're as welcome as can be!

M-I-C-K-E-Y-M-O-U-S-E!

I always wanted to be Cubby ('cuz I wanted a nickname)! (and he grew up to play backup drums for the Carpenters!)

Tuesday was Guest Star Day! For Tami (in her "current" color of purple!)

Today is Tuesday, you know what that means,
We're gonna have a special guest
So get out the broom and sweep the place clean
And dust off the mat so the welcome can be seen.

Roll out the carpet, strike up the band,
And give out with a Hip, Hooray! (Hip, Hooray!)
Wiggle your ears like good Mouseketeers
We're gonna present a guest today

'Cause Tuesday is "Guest Star Day!

Was anybody's favorite day Wednesday --Anything Can Happen Day?

Today is a day that is filled with surprises,
Nobody knows what's gonna happen.
Why, you might find yourself on an elephant on the moon
Or riding in an auto underneath a blue lagoon.
Yes, we Mouseketeers think you're gonna have some thrills,
And you know it's true that a laugh can cure your ills.
And so, if you're pleasure bent, we are glad to present
The Mouseketeers' "Anything Can Happen Day"!

Man, we're all showing our ages, aren't we?
memebeck49
Thanks, Tami--

I was trying with all the power of my little pea brain to remember the entire song, and the bit I wrote was all I could remember. I know that one of these days, the whole thing will pop into my head, probably while I'm at work, or something.
I remembered that Cubby was a drummer, but didn't know he was the Carpenter's backup drummer. Thanks for that info, too. I truly loved to listen to Karen Carpenter sing. What a beautiful voice, and what a sad ending to her life.
Sorry, didn't come here to be maudlin.

Eh heh! Eh Heh Heh!

That's the Woody Woodpecker show.

I'm Chilly Willy the Penguin
cuz I'm so chilly all the time.

I liked Casper the Friendly Ghost, the friendliest ghost in town.
Outside_the_Box
I think I'm most like Droopy, if I have to choose a character I'm like...
Farsix
I started out as Alice in Wonderland, transformed into to Lady and the Tramp (or was it a Tramp and the Gentleman?), then Kanga and little Roo. Now I've become all seven Dwarfs.
memebeck49
Do you know the names of the Seven Dwarfs of Menopause??

Itchy Witchy Sweaty Sleepy Bloated Forgetful and Psycho

Some of you "older" ladies will appreciate that.

Meme
kees_lady
Meme, I'm long past menopause so how come those darn dwarfs won't get the heck out of my house?

When I go 'sleepy' I wake up 'sweaty' and feel 'itchy' all over making me 'psycho,' my hands and feet are 'bloated,' I feel twitchy and 'witchy' and for the rest of the day I'm 'forgetful!'
Ghaladriel
Hello^^

I don't understand everything but memebeck49, nicely, invited me to join you^^ Can I??
Do I have something particular to do or to bring with me in the bus??

Thanks^^
Tami
Glad to have you aboard, Ghaladriel! Don't worry about understanding, we're a bit incomprehensible at times, even to ourselves!

This is a kind of stream of consciousness thread. We try to stay On Topic (keep it at least tenuously related to "Monk"), but we diverge on different tangents as the mood serindipitously takes us! If you have any special requests for virtual snacks, we'll see if we can requisition them from Natalie since Adrian's now paying her expenses!

So read a few threads, post a few posts and don't be a "stranger" ~~ at least not for long!
Ghaladriel
I took my dictionnary^^ I searched every words I don't understand and Now, I'm ready to answer!!

Sierra Springs bottled water and Cherry Pie is the Blue Plate Special in the MMMTBus commissary, isn't it?

Oh oh!! And is it grave If I take that too??
I can take Apple pie!!

And I dare asking you : Who is the commissary in the MMMTBus??

We're kind of partial to Cherry Pie since the "Three Pies" episode with Monk's brother Ambrose. But if you want apple, I'm sure the penguins'll be happy to bake some up for you! It's a virtual Bus with many floors and a dance floor, penguins doubling as waiters and construction workers -- make that tripling as dance partners!
Quote:

A commissary in this case would be a cafeteria. TV studios call their cafeterias "commissaries". I think it's located on the 10th floor of the MMMTBus, but a passing, dancing, waiting, building penguin might be able to show you the way!
Beholder
I'll take the Blue Plate Special. AND I'll take a bag of chocolate so that I can battle those "evil" 7 dwarves

B.
Any excuse for chocolate.
Og_Of_The_Jungle
ATTENTION! A Speed Bump has been reported!

Prepare for ... Oh, wait, the penguin in the crow's nest mis-identified a cross-walk.

Please disregard and continue as before.

Ghaladriel, I assume that you are a Lord-of-the-Rings fan? Did you bring a lunch? Interested in trading for a peanut butter sandwich?
stotfan
Tami,
I saw that last night on TV was one of your favorite movies...."The Wizard of Oz"!
kees_lady
It's the nightmare-ish sweaty you have to watch out for. One minute you're sitting there cool as a cucumber and out sneaks sweaty and turns up the heat.
Meanwhile his evil companion, witchy throws you a curve ball and you begin to curse the "curse" and everyone else. The only way to fight back is to have plenty of chocolate with you at all times. It's not a cure but it sure helps.
Raven
Those seven dwarfs of menopause describe me very well. How long does menopause last anyway? I'm really tired of being all those things! Especially sweaty. Ick.

I love the Wizard of Oz! Watched it twice in 2 days. Singing along to all the songs, oh, what a great movie!
Oh, what a world, what a world!
kees_lady
Oh, I don't know, seems like forever They say soy helps but you don't like nuts and soy nuts are really pretty good
Tami
How wonderful of you to remember that about me! {{{{{stotfan}}}}} I didn't watch "The Wizard of Oz" on TV this time, but got together with a group of very devoted WoO-fan friends for a party. We assigned characters, put on the DVD, turned the sound on mute and acted out the entire movie! We didn't have enough guys for all the parts, so we doubled up and I got to play the Cowardly Lion and both witches! We had a blast!

---------------
Miss Gulch: "What she's done? I'm all but lame from the bite on my leg!"
Uncle Henry: "You mean she bit you?"
Miss Gulch: "No, her dog!"
Uncle Henry: "Oh, she bit her dog, eh?'
Miss Gulch: "No!
aMonkFan4ever
That sounds like fun, Tami! Do you and your friends really do that? I think I'd like to be Glinda! How often do you do that? Have you seen the musical Wicked? It's fantastic!
Tami
Once a year, or so. This year, we decided to do it the same night it was on TV, since it fell on a Saturday. We're thinking of adding other movie musicals to our repertoire and having Dinner and a Musical night once a month! I guess we'll have to include "Camelot" and "Bye, Bye, Birdie" so we can do songs Adrian has sung on "Monk"! Now that'll be fun!

We can always use another voice, body, buddy in our little productions! Sure, you can be Glinda! Oh! I did get to see Wicked this year. I love how it showed how the Scarecrow, Tinman and Cowardly Lion (and, of course, the Sister Witches) came to be. And I do, I do, I do, I do, I do agree it's fantastic!

That sounds like a cool party, Tami! Very creative. There are only a few movies that I know ALL of the words to. Neat idea though.

Toto, I don't think we're in Disneyland anymore.
memebeck49
Tami---

Yeah, that sounds like ALOT of fun. I think I'd like to join in and be the wicked witch. My daughters and I used to watch that movie every year when they were little girls and I'd talk to them in the wicked witch voice for days after. "I'll get you my pretty, and your little dog, too." My youngest always liked the Oompa Loompas and would sing their song and walk in circles for days. What a great movie. I'd sure love to see you and your friends act it out. Bet it's funny and fun..
Farsix--
LOL.

I think we've traveled into Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory! Did we take a wrong turn at Albuquirky?? That's Bugs Bunny! Another detour!

We've got the makings of a Monk Musical Spectacular in the MMMTBus Theatre located on the 7th Floor! "Adrian Monk and the Seven Dwarfs Meet Willy Wonka on the Yellow Brick Road"..... Does anyone have the Libretto for the Gandhi Musical that Benjie got the lead in?

hello^^

Yes, I'm a Lord Of the Ring Fan^^I think Peter Jasckon made some very beautiful films, with love, passion and professionalism^^

For lunch, I took a Blue plate special, But I didn't take a dessert^^ So I accept with lot of pleasure the peanut butter sandwich you're offering me!!
It will be my dessert!! Thank you^^
memebeck49
Sorry---You're so right. My granddaughter was here and yakking about Willy Wonka. Trying to do two things at once is hazardous to my brain. We never missed a showing of both movies and I got temporarily mixed-up. A senior moment.
In case anyone cares, my daughter was terrified of the flying monkeys and would cry and scream at the t.v. that the monkeys shouldn't hurt poor scarecrow like that. She was always soooo happy when the witch melted.
When we do the musical, can we add West Side Story somewhere, someway, someday? Always one of my favorites.
Meme
Farsix
Yes! I love West Side Story

Or the West Side of Oz?

Make of our brains, real brains.
Make of our hearts, real hearts.
Make of our growls, one last growl.
Only Glinda can help us now.

There's no place like home, meme.
memebeck49
ROTFLMAO--Thanks farsix.
kees_lady
Meme, I like hiding out in the library. I get sort of confused feeling when I'm around too much noise and partying. There is a little Adrian in me that likes to stay away from the crowds - turn on the TV with the volume low and enjoy life from a distance, but maybe that is the agoraphobia talking.
Raven
I know exactly what you mean kees! It is so very true, There's No Place Like Home! I would rather be here, safe in my home, than anywhere else. Safe is the key word. Comfortable. I do like to be alone. Even that little trip hubby and I took for one day made me so anxious, before we left. Once I'm going I feel ok, but always ready to get back home.
Beholder
No place like home is right on target for me too. There's nothing I like more than getting home after running around all day at work. I love my down time in my cozy little house.

B.
Og_Of_The_Jungle
I think we'll all feel better after a nice sing-along!

We might want to skip Kum Ba[ck] Yah[rognia], since that got a lot of airplay last season... So how about:

10,000 bottles of sierra springs on the wall,
10,000 bottles of sierra springs;
Take one down,
Pass it around [but don't touch it with your lips! Ewwww!];
9,999 bottles of sierra springs on the wall...

[NOTE: There may be a copyright violation involving the "counting to a million" thread. Oooops.]

Okay, what's the next best sing-along song?
aMonkFan4ever
Sung to the tune of "Maria" from "West Side Story"

Sharona!
Monk once had a nurse named Sharona!
And suddenly she left,
To remarry her ex...
With Benjie!

Eek! I'm not good at song parodying !
Farsix
No, that's great! If I may continue…

Sharona!
Say it loud and she might just hear you.
All the make-up is likely to scare you.
Oh, reruns.
We'll never stop watching Sharona.
Neat_Freak
Whew! I fell off the bus again! I've been chasing you guys since that really big bump in the road!

Did I miss anything?
Outside_the_Box
The Clueless Wonder! I thought the Bus was mud-free for a while! Welcome back aboard!
memebeck49
Neat Freak--
Welcome back on board. Think I may have to borrow your clueless title for awhile. Seem to need it lately.

New bus sing-along

Monkman, drive your bus along
Halleluia (sp?)
If you'd just drive, we can't go wrong
Halleluia
The monkman's bus is ten stories high
Halleluia
To monkman land we want to fly
Halleluia

Okay, okay; I tried.
Meme
Tami
I've always seen it spelled: "Hallelujah," Meme. Unless you're referencing Hallie_O_Brien, in which case the spelling might be (and this is only a joke, please don't be offended, Hallie): "Hallie's looser" ~~ but don't quote me on that!

Neat Freak! ***Tami looks around for flying mudballs*** I've missed you! I hope I didn't hit anyone else in the process!
memebeck49
Thanks Tami LOL over the Hallie spelling. I knew I wasn't spelling that right, but my mind had a senior moment. I can feel my Baptist sunday school teacher grandmother rolling in her grave!!

Then this IS this glimmering white Ghaladriel - exhalted queen of Lothlorien, wife of Celeborn and grandmother of Arwen - imitated by Cate Blanchett. Quite an ethereal role. Not to be confused with the ethereal Tilda Swinton -- Gabriel in Constantine and now the white witch in the Narnia movie. Looking forward to that.

Did the bus just take a turn?

Hi, Tami! It's good to be back! Yes, I've missed our earthen combat, too, I'm ready to get dirty again. It just doesn't seem like the bus without some dried mud caked to my hair...

*casually packs a mudball* Would you like to hide or seek?
