That's right!!! October 3rd the Rowdy One will once again bless us with his presence... I hope that he will stay for a very long time, and I swear nothing will be better than if Cowboy Bob reunites with him and they bring back the Pit again, with the old set!!!

I will watch if Piper stays..he's the only reason I'm returning!
kristian
did piper sign a new contract with wwe...is he on the raw roster now?? i guess i can check on wwe.com. i just ask because he was in the 'moving to usa commercial'.

that would be awesome if cowboy bob orton and piper did a promo together...and that would only mean randy orton would also make an appearance on the homecoming episode as well. hell, the legend killer might as well, with all the legends who are going to be there, he could kill a few of them(the ones he hasn't killed yet) and add'em to his list. as carlito would say "now that is cool"

From my understanding Piper has signed a 5 yr likeness contract which means he could appear anytime..I'm hoping they'll use him often!

I adore him. He's the best of the best!

I was a huge fan of Piper back in the 80s when he came aboard the WWE during their national expansion. His antics with Cyndi Lauper, Hulk Hogan, and Mr. T. I will never forget. WWE should release all of the Piper's Pits on DVDs. Of course today he is a middle-aged guy, scarred by numerous injuries, but he still has the gift of gab, that's for sure.

I actually bought all the pits on DVD by this guy off of ebay. I also bought all the Saturday Nights Main Events and the TNT shows. This guy kept them in remarkable condition over the years and now sells them on ebay really reasonably.

Piper is still great. He just released a book in 2002. I bought it off his website and he autographed it. It was awesome!

He's my all time fave. I adore him. He just made being bad so GOOD!!! He was a true heel. I think the best testimony of his talent came in Wrestlemania 2. T of course was the favorite for fans going into it, but in the second round, everyone forgot they were booing Piper and was so wrapped up in his intensity they couldn't help but chant for him. That's what makes a great heel...someone everyone LOVES to hate but secretly loves to love, too.

His best stuff were the promos leading up to his "boxing match" with Mr. T. at WrestleMania 2, especially with the hilarious drawings of Mr. T. in casts and stuff. Then during one of his promos he said something like "Mr. T... I'll beat T. in 3... " A friend of mine at that time and I couldn't stop laughing that's how funny it was.

His other classic moment was when he destroyed the late Adrian Adonis' "Flower Shop" or whatever it was called interview segment leading up to WM3. Great, great stuff from the guy.

Oh the war with Adrian was awesome because it showed his range. He had been a heel forever and then turned into a great good guy who had everyone on his side. On SNM Event they played the song "MY WAY" for his retirement and showed the very best scenes! IT was great! I remember being a kid and crying.

Do you remember Ebeneezer Piper? It was a TNT skit where he played Scrooge. It was great!

Unfortunately, here in my area of Philadelphia, we did not get cable till the summer of 1987 and by then, TNT on USA was history. I think I did see that skit on Coliseum Home Video's "Piper's Greatest Hits"... maybe? I prob saw that video 20 years ago so I don't remember for certain.
maxinedemian
Yeah, it's on Piper's Greatest Hits and also the TNT Video that was released. I found this guy on ebay who had everything in great condition and he sold me the stuff on DVD. It's awesome!! Wrestling isn't like that anymore; and I miss it!!

Do you remember on the Greatest Hits where Piper interviews himself and says that there was a letter from Hulk Hogan's mother. He reads the letter and says that she spelled "Piper" - PIER- "Son" SOON and NAME "Nam" He reads the letter like he has to figure it out because her grammar is so bad. It's a hillarious skit!
