UNFORGIVEN PREVIEW
September 18, 2005

With Unforgiven just a few weeks away, things are heating up when it comes to the WWE Championship. Just moments after WWE Champion John Cena defeated Chris Jericho in a You're Fired Match, Kurt Angle viciously attacked the Champ, informing him that the Olympic Gold Medalist was the new No. 1 Contender.

Things heated up one week later as Cena called out Angle. Angle didn't want to put his championship match in jeopardy, but Cena was able to goad Angle into storming the ring. Angle tried to hook in the Ankle Lock but was unsuccessful. Will Angle's fortunes change at Unforgiven or will Cena be able to avoid the Ankle Lock yet again?

After more than five months, no one has been able to come out on top in the Master Lock Challenge. Shawn Michaels gave it the best effort to date, but the Showstopper could not break the Master Lock. Will he have better luck in a one-on-one match against Masters at Unforgiven?

The Nature Boy Ric Flair is a 16-time World Champion, but he's never held the Intercontinental Championship. He'll have his chance at Unforgiven as he challenges Carlito for the gold. Flair crashed Carlito's Cabana on RAW and showed him why he's the Dirtiest Player in the Game and promised to take him to school. Will Carlito be able to overcome the wily Flair?

Matt Hardy and Edge have brutally and mercilessly torn each other apart. GM Eric Bischoff realized that the two Superstars can't settle the score with any ordinary match, so he signed them to a Steel Cage Match. There's no telling how much damage these two will be capable of inside of a 15-foot high steel cage.
A couple of weeks ago Snitsky attacked Big Show from behind and smashed him in the back of the head with the ring bell. Can Big Show get some revenge at Unforgiven?

anyone ordering the ppv?

I'm getting Unforgiven due to buying the Triple Threat package. Direct TV really screwed me on Summerslam. I missed the first part and almost the first match because I had to call them again and remind them that I had already paid in June or July. So I barely saw Benoit vs Jordan. I had to call and remind them again today about the triple threat package cause I was not authorized for it until the third time calling them. I was pretty pissed. I mean this was supposed to be a gift for my birthday but Direct TV ruined the fun of it for me by making it so damn annoying.

I would not have ordered Unforgiven based on the matches and feuds. I'm tired of John Cena. I used to like him back when he did battle raps with his opponents (like the one he had with Angle on Smackdown or Big Show). Now he is just a watered-down version of himself. I'm so sick of "The Champ is here!" He needs to go back to his funny lines instead of catchphrases. He is not The Rock.

Ric Flair turning good is a nice change of pace and I hope he wins the IC title (just to give the title some much-needed appreciation and respectability). HBK vs Masters I really don't care about this feud. I am not a fan of HBK so I hope Masters gets the win. Hardy & Edge should be a good match unlike their Summerslam fiasco. The feud won't end here but it should take a nice turn in Hardy's favor.

The women's match I could care less about. I'm just glad one of the few women who can wrestle (Trish) is back.

As for the tag teams isn't there a title match tonight? WWE & RAW specifically has a long way to go to rebuild the tag team divisions. For an example of how a tag team should be they should model new tag teams after MNM or the new LOD. Hook up someone old with someone new. Unlike the new LOD though have their outfits match.

Guys on RAW who can be put in the tag-team scene : HBK, Flair, Shelton Benjamin (bring back Charlie Haas and reform their team). Make Eugene and Kerwin White into a comedy tag-team.

Unforgiven should be OK at best. I am looking forward to RAW back on USA more than the PPV. Tells you how sad the booking is on this PPV.
