I have been searching and searching for DZ seasons 1 & 2 on DVD and finally just ordered them on-line since they are no where to be found here in UT. Picking up season 3 tonight after training.

I feel so lost since I have no idea what has taken place for 2 ½ seasons. Okay, so I’m a little embarrassed to admit I didn’t even know about DZ until a few months ago. It was a restless night and I was flipping channels and caught The 4400 on USA. They showed commercials for DZ and then DZ came on! I was hooked from the first minute. Then, it took me 4-5 episodes to realize it was AMH as Johnny. Jeez! Am I slow or what?

I read DZ, the book, several years ago. In my 20’s I was hooked on Stephen King. Wasn’t crazy about the movie (with Martin Sheen) …but the movie isn’t usually as good as the book. BUT….I love the TV series!

I can’t wait until I get all three seasons under my belt so I can communicate intelligently with all of you….okay within reason.

I may even check out the library selections to see what they have since I’m too impatient to wait 2-3 weeks for my order to arrive.

Do all of you have withdrawals when DZ isn’t on? I end up searching the internet, but it’s just not the same.

So glad I came upon this website and can share my compulsive personality disorder for DZ. I’ll be a happy girl soon!

P.S. How did all of you meet the cast? Or know so much about them? Is there another site I need to check out or do all of you attend DZ conventions? LOL!! As you can tell, I need all the help I can get. Thanks for being patient with me as I try to acclimate myself "in the zone"!

Hugs,
Bex

Hey Bex, and welcome to the board. I first discovered the series, then watched the movie, and then I read the book

I find myself taking out season 1-3 on DVD and watch them when there isin't any new episodes to watch.

I met Kristen Dalton, who plays Dana Bright in the first 2 season last summer during a convention in the UK. During the first da of the convention I went to have lunch at the hotel where I was staying (the con was there) and I met Kristen when I entered the restraunt, and she offered to take me out to lunch since we were both alone, and I was the ONLY one to ask her questions about Dead Zone, all other questions were about her stint on Stargate SG-1. Since then I've been a fan of hers.

Anyway, again welcome to the boards if you have any question, don't hesitate to ask, someone will awnser it, and you'll find out that we're one big happy family here on the boards.

Welcome aboard! I'm glad the show continues to attract a new audience. One should never feel bad about discovering a new show! I too am a recent and avid fan. I signed on when season 3 started. Been addicted ever since! I couldn't get the first two seasons fast enough!

I wasn't even a King fan. I saw the movie, and read the book. The TV series makes the movie look like it was done by a bunch of amateurs, IMO. I love AMH's portrayal of JS. I can't praise the series enough. They gave JS dimension.

Yep! Keep your fingers crossed that they might give us new eps in January instead of June!

Welcome to "the zone" Bex.

I just discovered TDZ last season.."Cold Hard Truth", in fact.

It all started one day at the library when I had to decide between getting The Dead Zone and Carrie. I picked TDZ because I liked the title..and fell in love with the book! Then my friend said the famous last words: "I heard that was a tv show" Did some research, asked around, and found "Cold Hard Truth" one Sunday night..ended up practically crying..and I didn't know any more than what was shown on the come on!

I agree that was a really good episode (cold hard truth)
i cried as well....it was so sad!!!

Welcome Bex. I just became a fan in April of this year. I watched the pilot last summer but for some reason it didn't grab me. I had seen the movie but never read the book. So this spring my spouse and i borrowed the series from my mother-the world's oldest and most unlikely sci fi fan-and we both fell head over heels.

AMH's John Smith is phenomenal. I can't praise that man enough for the depth he brings to the character. The spouse and i watched all three seasons and couldn't believe what happened at the end of Tipping Point , let alone that most fans had stuck it out since last August! I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for new eps in January. For now I rewatch the old eps and write fanfic.

Thanks to you all for your warm welcomes and for sharing your experiences. I just checked and my DVDs have been shipped so I will impatiently wait for my postman to deliver my early Christmas presents.

I was going to share a Sci-Fi experience I had several years ago but chose not to just in case I'd offend one of you. Oops...

I'd love to hear from more of you and your experiences getting in "The Zone".

Greetings Bex and Welcome! :-)

My first experiences with "The Dead Zone" actually started years ago (I can't remember the exact year but I do know it was a good time before the T.V. series premiered) when I came in the middle of the movie version with Christopher Walken airing on UPN. If I remember correctly, it was on the part where Johnny had the premonition of the boy falling through the ice while playing hockey. At the time, however, I didn't know it was "The Dead Zone" I was watching but the emotional turmoil that Johnny experienced in the film did catch my attention long enough to stop my channel surfing if only until the film end credits rolled.

I didn't actually get into "The Zone" until about 4 months ago with the season premiere "Broken Circle". Again, I came upon the middle of the episode while channel surfing and this time Johnny is calling Rebecca on her cellphone while she is at Stillson's conference getting ready to draw out a gun to kill Stillson. The rest is pretty much history. :-D After that episode ended, I knew I'd been won over; of course, I had to find out more about what I had just seen because it had been incredible! So, I went online and found out that the series had been on T.V. for a while and I had no idea (USA network was not on my basic cable package before this year)! I watched the previous seasons, including the two-part pilot which I re-watched at least twice after. And, since I'm a collector, I began amassing a good lot of memorabilia like presskits, lobby cards, photos, etc....and currently still growing.

Enjoy your episodes! I know I have and continue to do so. Everytime I go back and watch an episode again, I see something I didn't before; that's what I love about "The Dead Zone" because it re-interprets my perspective on the characters, their dynamics, their situations, and even the possible consequences their actions might bring. Thanks for reading! :-)

hey bex! i know, preaching to the choir, but i'm glad you are here and welcome and all that other good stuff!
Bex
Thank you jmd

I was able to watch only 2 episodes last night. Oh my goodness! They were SO GOOD! I didn't get home until almost 9:30 and my alarm rings at 5 so I didn't have much time, darn it. If I wasn't coming down with a cold I probably could have watched one more.

My brain is still buzzing with energy after watching those first 2 episodes. WOW! AMH and all the gang did such a fantastic job. I was getting so into it and was so amazed at the range of emotions it was bringing up in me.

Thanks to all of the cast and crew....and I still have several more DVD's to go. Flying high in Utah.
