OK... I don't want to do anything illegal, but... there is this movie that I really want to see in December, but it's rated R. Does anyone have tips on sneaking in? I will buy a ticket, so they don't lose money or whatever... but I just need to get in there, I want to watch this movie ALONE also, but my mother says if i'm going, it's with my dad. And I am not watching Brokeback Mountain with my father... HELP!!!

alright...you're saying you don't want to do anything illegal, but here you are asking people on tips how to sneak into a ratedR movie without a parent or adult...i'd say that's pretty illegal.

The problem isn't sneaking in, it's getting past the usher at the right time. There is one usher that takes the ticket stub. They don't check tickets or anything because it is so small, I just have to make it IN the theater without being caught. So... to the left of the usher are the R movies. All of the other movies are straight behind him... AND, it's not that my parents wont let me, they are perfectly fine with it, it's just that I want to go alone.

Why is it so important that you go alone? Don't want to be seen with your daddy? Wanna act like a big grown-up? My suggestion, swallow your pride, do the right thing, and go with an adult. If your independence is that important to you, then just sit a few rows away.

Ahhhh I remember the days before I was old enough to get into rated R films.....luckily the people in my town don't care and will let just about anyone in to see any movie. Of course after I'd get done watching one movie I'd sneak in to see another.
If your are worried about being carded then buy a ticket for a G rated movie that starts about the same time and go see the R rated one. Just make you don't go on it's opening weekend......

why not on it's opening weekend. I thought this would be the best time, because there would be a lot more people.

if you go through with it and get caught say hi to the person who catches you for me
that will brighten up his day

Because opening weekend for an R movie(well any movie) usually means they will be checking ticket stubs and/or IDs. Just wait a week or two.

most of the places around here don't even care. The restriction on R rated movies isn't even a law. Its just a suggestion. The theater couldn't care less which movie you see. They only care how much snack stuff you buy.

If you can get a ticket, an usher will allow you into the theater. If the therater management is going to check your age it will be before or when money changes hands.

that is what I was going to say. The shows don't exactly have police that go around and say excuse me let me see your lciense and registration. If you get a ticket, then they will let you in all the ticket guy is going to say is third theater on the left.

sneaking into movies isn't that hard. Wait untill the movie has been out for a while, two or three weeks. Then tell your parents that you want to see a movie (it can be anything as long as it's not the one you're seanking into) have them drop you off at the theater (if you can't drive yourself that is, otherwise just go alone), buy a ticket for a diffrent movie that's showing at the same time, and then just walk into the movie you actually want to see. there won't be anyone by the door checking to see if your old enough or if you have a tickets, that usually stops around two or three weeks.
Although I'm old enough now where I don't have to sneak in anymore, that's the meathod I used all of the time, you just have to be willing to wait for a little while to see it.
