Was it just me or did the writers make Mr. Monk and the Badge show how domestic and a couple both Natalie and Monk are together. The whole thing with Natalie defending 'her man' at the station before the Captain could give them the good news. And the whole scene where Monk rushes around his apartment getting ready for work - it reminded me of my mother getting my father ready for work when I was little. You know...kind of like 'honey don't forget your lunch and tool box'. When he's walking out the door I swear I was expecting him to run back and kiss her, kind of like what he would have done with Trudy all those years ago! Plus the whole realization of her not coming with him and how he stopped to actually think about what SHE was going to do was truly showing that he cared for her. And the little quote of 'He couldn't do better," when Natalie said she was going to interview for being someone's assistant....awesome acting there on both there parts. They both looked totally taken back by the moment.
I have to say the hug was very sweet and true to the characters we know...at the same time it left me feeling that they indeed.
Then during the episode when Monk talks about how Natalie 'is miserable', he slams down his water and makes this face that makes me think that HE is miserable and is kind of assuming that if he feels miserable...she must be miserable.
Then after you see Natalie in Paxton's office and she calls him 'Jim' and he calls her Teeger. I found that intriguing. Is it just me or does it seem like that little thing shows how she purposely distances herself from Adrian Monk by calling him Mr. Monk...when she's perfectly capable of calling her new boss his first name almost right away?
The end of the episode just so reminded me of a romantic moment my father ruined by saying something that pissed my mom off...I swear I would think that they are leading up to a relationship with the two of them.
Am I imagining all this....eh...it's possible...but what do you guys think?
