Full Version: Mr. Monk and Natalie as a married couple??!! Spoilers INSIDE!!!

Was it just me or did the writers make Mr. Monk and the Badge show how domestic and a couple both Natalie and Monk are together. The whole thing with Natalie defending 'her man' at the station before the Captain could give them the good news. And the whole scene where Monk rushes around his apartment getting ready for work - it reminded me of my mother getting my father ready for work when I was little. You know...kind of like 'honey don't forget your lunch and tool box'. When he's walking out the door I swear I was expecting him to run back and kiss her, kind of like what he would have done with Trudy all those years ago! Plus the whole realization of her not coming with him and how he stopped to actually think about what SHE was going to do was truly showing that he cared for her. And the little quote of 'He couldn't do better," when Natalie said she was going to interview for being someone's assistant....awesome acting there on both there parts. They both looked totally taken back by the moment.

I have to say the hug was very sweet and true to the characters we know...at the same time it left me feeling that they indeed.

Then during the episode when Monk talks about how Natalie 'is miserable', he slams down his water and makes this face that makes me think that HE is miserable and is kind of assuming that if he feels miserable...she must be miserable.

Then after you see Natalie in Paxton's office and she calls him 'Jim' and he calls her Teeger. I found that intriguing. Is it just me or does it seem like that little thing shows how she purposely distances herself from Adrian Monk by calling him Mr. Monk...when she's perfectly capable of calling her new boss his first name almost right away?

The end of the episode just so reminded me of a romantic moment my father ruined by saying something that pissed my mom off...I swear I would think that they are leading up to a relationship with the two of them.

Am I imagining all this....eh...it's possible...but what do you guys think?

I totally agree. Except that's funny I didn't even think about your second paragraph...I thought that scene seemed kind of meanless and thrown in there when I watched the episode, but that would actually make a lot of sense. weird.

I thought it was also a new thing for Monk to say "We're funny together," when Natalie was sending him off with his lunch and gun. Usually it's all about him, or her, but never "we".

you do make a good point but for for me it was kind of like a mother with her child but you point of view is better.

I thought the exact same thing XD I was wondering if someone had the same idea. And plus, I don't know why, but I though like it was a scene from the flinstone family, with fred going to work and elma (or was it emma?) sending him to work.

Don't forget also when he said after natalie pinch him if he was dreaming :"I figure you were in my dreams... I don't know" I'm not sure if this is how he said it but something similar.

That is true. But this season has shown that Monk thinks of Natalie before himself when it really comes down to it. The whole vodoo doll showed exactly how much he's changed. He would have never gone through that whole thing for Sharona...and don't get me wrong...I LOVED Sharona. The way he reassured her but being affirmative and telling her to 'look at me' as he told her that he wouldn't let anything happen to her. The way he covered her up with the blanket on her couch! The way he actually rode in the 'reverends' car because he wasn't allowed to be in the ambulance with Natalie...all of it...it just showed that he's become closer to Natalie in a really big way!

I agree with pretty much everything you all said. Of course, I'm not sure whether the writers would ever put them together, but they're doing a darn good job of teasing us with it. The scene where Monk and Natalie realized they wouldn't be "together" anymore was so sad and I definitely cried! sad.gif

I also was really intrigued by the cute little things Monk said like "I'm going to miss you" "I thought you were in my dream" LOL "We're funny together"

You know what I REALLY loved? The scene where Natalie says, "First class Detective Adrian Monk, I am so proud of you."
Her expression was priceless.
Jatelovr58
The parts where Natalie kept calling him first class Detective Adrian Monk were cute...it reminded me of the Bank episode.
And its when Monk says the guy couldn't have picked a better assistant that Natalie's tears start going.
I think she's been wanting him to acknowledge her for a long time.
He's come a long way since "On Wheels." laugh.gif

I agree with all of your observations and yes her "first class detective Adrian Monk"; she loves a man in uniform though he wasn't in a uniform, the way she said it and the look on her face . . . He hugged her at the end. A real hug. I know he was teasing her with the surprise thing, trying to play it cool and not reveal how excited he was to have her back with him 24/7. But, I'm gushing. I could gush more but I'll save it for next week's episode. rolleyes.gif

To me it just reminded me of me getting my kids out the door in the morning. My husband has always gotten himself ready in the mornings and out the door without my help.

Really, for that matter, my kids do, too, now that my daughter is a senior and my son is in the seventh grade. It's been at least a couple of years since I really had to do much of anything to get them out the door, other than wake them up and keep after them to stay awake long enough to get on the bus.

Don't make me yak as my kids would say.

Am I the only one that noticed Casper Van Dien was one of the people holding Monk down in the clip for the next episode. Natalie's there too...but it seems as though really is imaging the others that were around him while Natalie and whatshisface are really trying to get him to get a shot from the doctor. Did anyone else notice that?

Monk and NAtalie really are so cute together. When they are on I just watch with a huge smile on my face I cant help it. They were so cute in the Badge last night, I was smiling like an idiot, and wanted more.
Jatelovr58
My mom who was watching the episode w/ me, doesn't know of my Monk Natalie shipper hopes, said annoyed at the end of the Badge, "Monk needs to get over Trudy." LOL, so now I know I'm not crazy. The M/N cuteness is more catchy than the swine flu. tongue.gif

I have to tell you that my family has been pretty much convinced...That Natalie and Monk romantically together....NO WAY...just true friends is all...until this show. My hubby thought that the goodbye scene you mention was the first time he actually thought that there was a love connection and that yes the writers might be able to convince him. And that seen in the hallway at the very end of the show...my husband said something to the effect of theY sound just a married couple,... Up until this show he had been a deifinite non-believer...and couldn't even picture them romantically. My one daughter still says they won't be a (romantic) couple and that she just can't see it happening. I would like to see them as a couple...and my other daughter just says their "cute" together but I don't know....

Yes. I thought it looked like Albright but I wasn't certain.

This whole last season has shown that they've grown extremely close to each other. The Voodoo doll episode only proves that Monk would do anything for her...I mean the whole potion thing...and the way he wanted to go in the ambulance with her but couldn't so he rode in the car with the 'reverend' was something he would not have done even two years ago. Even the way he holds her at the end of the episode is just soo not what Monk would have done not soo long ago.

LOL, or maybe the craziness is genetic? Anti-shippers probably feel that way biggrin.gif

I agree though, that episode was fantastic. The beginning was very touchy and sweet (I totally thought Natalie looked like she was gonna kiss him) and the end had me lmao. Can't wait for next week's episode (At the same time I'm dreading it - oh, bittersweetness!) ! Teasing or not, I'm loving it all wink.gif
