Please let us know if you found anything!
I didn't get as much as I hoped and I didn't figure out who did it. I watched every episode in the order they had it listed and when I was up to "on the run" I noticed that the dvd was not in it's case. The last person who borrowed it from me gave it back with Season 6, Disc 4 missing. So I watched all the others. I was taking notes as I was watching. These may or may not be significant:
1. Mr. Monk meets Dale the Whale: There is a judge, didn't catch his name, who says "Mr. Monk is an old friend". Hmm.
2. Mr. Monk goes to jail: Dale says to Leland "Leland Stottlemeyer is lecturing me on style, the world has gone mad". This would only be significant if it turns out to be Leland who is the killer, and Dale knew the whole time. That comment could be taken to mean the murder was sloppy (at least by Dale's standards).
3. Mr. Monk takes Manhattan: Leland is very passionate about getting the NY cops to let Monk see Tennison. He even goes so far as to steal keys and do some digging in the NY police station. This could negate note number 2. Or not, if he is confident enough that this lead is a dead end.
4. Mr. and Mrs. Monk: Natalie asked Leland if he was there when Trudy died and he said "Trudy Monk?" which is kinda wierd because what other Trudy could she be talking about. He acted a little weird during this exchange, but could (hopefully) mean nothing.
5. Mr. Monk bumps his head: Monk is about to meet someone who allegedly has information on the six fingered man. Natalie seems to be working a little too hard to stop him from meeting the guy. Maybe it's just that she is worried something is going to happen to him (which she would be right about, cause something did) or maybe she had other reasons for him not wanting to find out more.
5a. Mr. Monk bumps his head: At the end of the episode when the perp has been apprehended, the sherif says he is going to go wake the judge. Probably a coincidence that "the judge" is mentioned here, but you never know.
6. Mr. Monk and the class reunion: When they are trying to figure out suspects for the nurse's murder, they suggest a member of the swim team who tested positive for steroids 25 years earlier due to a drug test the nurse gave him. Natalie says "who could hold a grudge that long?" and Leland says "I could. And have". Interesting comment.
6a. Mr. Monk and the class reunion: First mention of how Monk met Trudy. He waited three weeks to call her, and she was already dating Drew, who later became a famous heart sergeon. Famous usually means wealthy, maybe Drew is the guy. He could have afforded to pay for all the help.
Interesting note on a possible mistake: In Mr. Monk and the actor they reference the garage Trudy died in as the garage on Giraldi street, and in Mr. Monk fights city hall they reference it as the garage on Summerset Ave. Although it could be on the corner of Giraldi and Summerset. Still weird that it was mentioned both ways. If someone has mentioned this in the past sorry for bringing it up again.
Anyways, those were the most significant things I could find that weren't already discussed on the message board. Not sure how much help, if any, these will be. I know some of them point to Leland, but I still don't think it will be him. I will be just slightly less surprised if it turns out that way now. Equally pissed though.
