The week was half over but I was already overwhelmed. I tried to think of a way out of this a good way. One way would just get rid of it, but that wouldn't be right I couldn't live with myself. The other way would just see how it plays out but that would mean giving up what I love, for a while... just a while. My thoughts were interrupted by Cragen walking in the room giving orders,
"All of you, the 4-2 precinct is involved in a hostage situation 24 and 15 West Street get going!"
*EOEOEOEO*
There we were face to face with what could possibly be the biggest name in Narcotics,Harry Kessler, he's killed in cold blood and he would just to get out of this situation. But, he was surrounded Fin to my left John to my right Elliot and other officers hiding ready to take him down.
"You know what little lady?" Kessler said to me, his voice deep and raspy "I'll let him go if... treat me like a man."
My earwig went off, it was Cragen "Ok Olivia don't lose your temper just say no."
I shook my head "And why would I want to do that?"
Kessler laughed "Why wouldn't you, you all want to take me down because I'm a big name in drugs. That's not all thats big."
I gulped, my fingers were sweating and I retook my grip on my gun, "Oh well if you put it that way... I'm still not persuaded, why don't you let my friend go and maybe we'll talk about it. I moved closer and he moved his gun from the hostage's head and pointed at me and that was the first time I was actually scared, it was a CZ 54 one of few guns that could go through police issued bullet proof vests.
"Move away, girl! If I have to I will shoot!"
I don't know why but I took that next step even though John, Fin, and the people on the radio said l didn't believe him.
The last thing I remembered was hearing two shots and then Fin putting pressure on my wounds. Was this the easy way out I was looking for?

I woke up in the hospital, safe. Cragen was at my bed standing silent, his face was like stone the only sound was my monitors beeping to the sound of my heart.
"Olivia," Captain stated "Why... No what, what the hell were you thinking? Your pretty damn lucky."
I sat up "So the hostage is fine? I had to call his bluff, Capt, I had to."
Cragen looked at me disappointed and upset, he let out a sigh and whispered "That's not what I'm talking about. Yes the hostage is ok and Kessler was arraigned 2 counts of murder in the 1st degree, One count of kidnapping and one count of assaulting a police officer. He won't be out for a while but do you know what I'm talking about?"
I looked at him he looked mad but forgiving yet regretful.
"You know?"
"Yeah Olivia, you're damn right I know! When you were sent in there what were you thinking taking the lead, being the negotiator knowing full well you had a chance of getting shot. What do you think went though my mind when the doctor took me aside telling me to make the call, Do the operation where there was a 30% chance of your CHILD making it? I was shocked, how long have you known?"
"I took an at home test a week ago and it was positive then I went to the doctors and they confirmed it two days ago. I'm sorry I didn't tell you. Does anyone else know?"
"Olivia, sorry doesn't cut it you endangered yourself and your child, and no one knows. Olivia you have two options if you are going to keep your child; transfer to the computer unit, you'll see us a lot but not as often, or quit and get another job, you can't leave your child with a nanny all the time unless the father..."
"The father is a jackass that when he found out about it he skipped town. A major jackass."
"Ok I'll give you sometime to think about it, are you up for some visitors?"
"Yeah, I'd love some, I feel trapped..."
