i loved Mr. Monk and the Dog! it was SO Cute, the only thing that irritated me was Randy, i love Randy's Character, he's really funny!! but on Mr. Monk and the Dog, he seemed more dumb then funny to me, it might just be me, correct me if i'm wrong! but i just don't want them to dumb down his Character that much!!
but over all it was an Adorable episode!

You are so right. I understand that Randy's supposed to be the comic relief on the show, but at the same time he is supposed to be a police Lieutenant. Some of the scenes with him just weren't funny to me and makes him look like an idiot (e.g. the map and eliminating possible search areas). It just makes it hard at times to take him seriously as a cop - first year cadet maybe but definitely not a Lieutenant.

To be fair, he was somewhat right when he said that the killer was afraid the dog would testify against him.

Overall, a good show though.

I don't think of Randy as 'dumb'. I think he just says everything he thinks. Sometimes what you say is clever, sometimes not so much.

I think Randy had a good point about the dog testifying. I mean California is pretty far out there. Especially San Francisco.

It certainly was the funniest line in the episode, no doubt because there is more than a grain of truth in it.

He was completely right about all those ridiculous referendums...
