I used to be a rabid watcher of this series. It was intelligent, serious, but with enough "snark" to keep it fun. All of this changed though, about half way through season two, the mood of the show changed. Now there was more focus on whether Wilson will betray House, will House go for this, will this person forgive that person, will character X keep their job...

It turned into a bleeding soap opera (pun intended).

This in itself might be tolerable, except, it also went Emo... and by Emo, I mean, it dressed in black, put on mascera and started reading bad poetry. By the time an episode finished, I felt like I had been ruin through a wringer. It was no longer "will he cure him?". It was, will the this person die slowly and painfully, OR slowly and not painfully.

This lead me to one simple fact, I didn't like the series anymore. I put it down and walked away for over a year. When I caught it again, it was the arc covering the "new" team's selection. There some of the irreverence and wit I remembered had come back, it was fun to watch again. Sadly work kept me from watching it regularly, but I hoped to catch up.

This brings us to present day. After trying valiantly to watch the episode Last Resort, I had to turn off the TV and walk away. The Emo was back and had brought razors.

What I'm trying to figure out, is whether this is the form that USA wants to keep, and should I give up, or can I throw my name into a hat for the "Make House fun to watch again" petition?

Here here. Couldn't say it better myself.

I did enjoy Dr. Buffer episodes and when the cop was hassling him-- welcome reprieve from the boring pattern. Don't watch anymore either. Can't stand it...
