So much for ANY kind of sedation. blink.gif I went in to radiology and laid face down on the table. They said they were giving me something to relax...I waited and waited...nothing. I broke down when they started wiping my back down with some betadine type stuff. I was so scared I was shaking and crying, so they gave me ANOTHER dose of the nerves stuff. By the time I finally felt it kick it...he was done.

They inserted 3 needles into my spine (they had 3 disks to check). They did numb my back so that was a plus. The 1st needle I only felt the prick, and some pressure...no pain. So that was a good thing. That meant that disk was good. Disk #2...oh boy! unsure.gif It hurt!! I yelled out, and cried. Then he moved on to disk #3 where it done the same thing. After the procedure I was give 2 Percocets (pain medication) and it didn't touch me at all.

After the test he told me disk #2 was ruptured, and disk #3 was bulged. That's why they hurt. So on top of the fractured back I have the 2 bad disks that need repaired.

I have a follow up appointment sometime...not sure when. I guess we'll schedule surgery then--which won't be until December (because of school). So for now I'm home. REALLY REALLY sore, looking over the paper work to see if I can shower, then take my ice pack, go to bed, rest, and watch me some Dr. House. LOL

He said I may be really sore for a couple of days, so tomorrow may be a "lay in bed" kind of day too...which sucks cause I'm missing too much school. mellow.gif BLEH! Oh well. I'll just have to work my butt off and catch up.

So that's it! Although, given the pain I'm in....my doctor deserves a good swift kick in the nuts!!! It'd make me feel better anyway to know he was in just as much pain. LOL

Ewww! You had no fun at all today. Isn't it nice how doctors don't seem to mind the pain - they don't feel it, why should they? At least they coulda given you the drugs so you could've taken them BEFORE you left for the hospital. They did that with my neighbor. He had neck and throat cancer last year. When he had to go in for the pet scan he knew it was gonna be a problem. He's clausterphobic and extremely on edge because of the cancer. To top it they had a mask he had to put on that they bolted to the table to keep his head still. They gave him some pills in advance and told him to take one or at most two. Two did nothing but six did. He said he was so hammered he didn't care what they did! Anyway, hope you got a chuckle out of that and I hope you're feeling better soon.

Feel better soon! Both my grandsons, age 3 and almost 2, have the swine flu. Their doing ok, Thank the Lord, and we've been around them all weekend. All hubby and I need is the pig flu! So if ya don't see me around, send out a bolo! LOL!

They should have known that what they gave me wasnt enough. I've been on the same pain medication for the past year, and it's a pretty high dosage (for me anyway-I take it at night only unless hubbys home during the day on my bad days then I wait till he's home. Dont want to be drugged out alone with the kids)...ANYWAY the crap thet gave didnt work. I told them that and they were like...we've given you 2 different ones, we can't give you any more. Just take 2 of your pills when you get home (and they call themselves pain management center....effin sadist). The nurse had a fit because I was filling out paper work. I'm like the sh** you gave me isnt working! I'm still in pain, and I dont think writing my name and address is a life altering decision! So she took them away from me. LOL

K I hope you dont catch it, and that your family feels better soon!

Going to bed. Night!

I'm sore and stiff today. Didn't sleep well last night. But I'm up and functioning. Only time I had pain medication was early this morning around 8ish. So I'm not doing too bad. The ice pack has helped more than the pain medication anyway. Thank goodness for that!!

That's good to hear. Hopefully the painful parts won't last that long.

HAVE to go to school today. Still tender, but not painful. So I still have to be careful. Hopefully today will remain that way.

Hope you're starting to feel a little better, purple!

I'm a LOT better this evening. Soreness is almost gone. Still tender of course. About the feeling of getting a shot in the hip when your sick or something. Slowly but surely.

Happy to read that you're feeling better. Sorry, you have to go through this. Sending positive thoughts that you continue to heal quickly and the pain continues to lessen.

I think he just had a 24 hour bug. He's fine now, but the school still won't let him back until Monday. Ugh! I'm good. Still a tad tender, but mobile.

Yea.

My back feels better. I actually danced in ballet today (for the final) and still feel pretty good. I have a bruise from 1 injection (I guess the numbing medicine) and 3 holes still from the actual needles.

But atleast the pain is finally gone!

So now it's the countdown to surgery. Last day of classes is December 8, but finals week is 9-15 (how weird...isn't that usally BEFORE the last day of classes ...I'm confused now). But still....the countdown begins.
