Okay...I am getting really offended here....

Is everyone out there sending out their own emails and that is why my emailer suddenly just fell off the planet???

We went from 200 emails per day down to like 20.

What's going on out there?????

I sure hope you guys aren't getting tired!!!

What's a multiple emailer gotta do to get some love around here??

Tell me that you are all just really busy whipping out your own emails...before I start to cry... blink.gif

Don't make me break out into an inspirational hymn....nobody wants to hear me sing...

Charley blink.gif

I have been sending out my own emails, plus using the multiple emailer. I also got out 35 more postcards today, and bought a roll (100) of postcard stamps, (for more postcards) On the multiple emailer, though, I wasnt sure exactly if you could just sign your own email address repeatedly, so I've been using mine and some family's (the only addressses I know), so that only amounts to about 10 on that. But can I use my own, over and over? If so, I can put in probably 50 or more, by myself, tonight. I already put in my 10 family ones.

Thank you for all that you have done and yes, you can use your own over and over again.

Thanks to everyone using it.

As long as they are going out from somewhere...I am good.

I was just concerned about such a drastic drop...maybe people are sending out their own...that would be good!
bammi
For my personal emails, I first wrote one to each Hammer, Gaspian, Zucker, Wachtel, and Epstein. Then I go into my "sent email" and copy it over and over and send it again. It does take longer than the multiple one, but I do it for variety, and so they see something different. But I do love the multiple one, it is very quick, and I'll be hitting that one good tonight.

LOL. I have about 5 emails that I use...each starts with a different letter so my auto-complete does all the work for me.

I try to get out about 25 each night.

If folks are sending their own and have things they want to say...I am cool with that. I was just concerned because we have had a lot of drama lately and my emailer just dropped off...hoping people aren't getting cold feed or bored or what have you...

Thanks Bammi - you do so much. It's really appreciated!

So, anybody know anything about the supposed radio interview Vince gave, this morning? It was brought up on the "leaving CI" thread, I believe, but the poster didn't catch it. Supposedly he spoke about his appearance at that pub and about leaving CI.

I searched around for information on it as well, filigree2, after seeing it in the other thread and I couldn't find a thing. sad.gif I hope someone else caught it and can fill us in. I'd like to hear it or read it too.

Still head-scratching!
I'm off for the weekend! (working, not playing!)

Keep fluffing! It's time to renew the Fluff campaign - let's do cheap cotton balls this time! Especially if you've blown the wad on Marshmallow Fluff! Go tell the media - Only Fluffy Characters welcome at USA? - we're sending them Fluff.

I'm secretly hoping they sat down in a conference room at USA, with their spoons, and loaded up on the bottled stuff. Then realized that Fluff is a mistake so called in the negotiators to make a full Goren & Eames Season 9.

Has a great deal of fluff been returned? I hope not. I only remember seeing one shipment returned so far but I've been busy lately so I may have missed a post or two. If they send a ton of it back and it's more than folks can use themselves maybe it could be donated in honor of the actor's names to an organization that will be serving a Thanksgiving or other Holiday dinner this season??? It should stay good that long I think and maybe they could probably put it to good use in their pies or brownies or other such dessert baking.

ok, that's 25+ Periodically I will hit that during the night (I stay up late) so look for a good amount tomorrow! How do you do that auto thing? Maybe I'll get me a few more email addresses! I forgot, I do have 3. I can use them all.

I really am trying on this because I really love the Bobby Goren character so much and want more of him. I also hate what they are doing to all the actors, and I think they are showing complete disregard for the fans. And why should they decide to make our show lighter? We never asked for that, and we, the fans, are the ones watching it.

On another note, I read today that Bonnie Hammer is all excited about the premiere of the new show and says the expected response is really scary. Made me sick, how she could say that while we are all in misery. Sorry I can't remember her exact words but that is the gist of it. I know I'm not going to watch. Nothing against the show, but I am very angry at USA now, and what they are doing to us. Other than Goren CI's, I am not watching USA. I'm not supporting a network that does what it did to the actors and the fans.

I think I have auto-complete because my browser does that...my browser is Safari.

I don't have a television so...it's easy for me to not watch USA...lol. I used to get my shows off the net.

I have seen some of the hype over USA's new shows...I am trying to just ignore it as much as I can...but have you gotten the GIANT freaking beer ad at the top of the page when you come on the board...its obnoxious!

I send a few e-cards and I do the hit list on the blog but I do the emailer cause its easy and...I am LAZY.

Thanks for all the you do... biggrin.gif

Charley,
The mass emailer is TOTALLY appreciated! When I have more time, I do usually send a bunch from my own emails, I have 2 emails I use and 2 email addresses. But days like today when I don't have time, I definitely hit the mass emailer! I just took a break from some epic English homework and hit it for 25 emails! biggrin.gif

I'm starting to get used to watching online now, too, charley_4. I love that I can pause it whenever I want to go get a drink or answer the phone or whatever and I don't miss anything. LOL. I watched allot more of USA when my teenager was at home with me up until he started driving and dating and was never home anyway. laugh.gif Now I can take it or leave it if my favorite show isn't on anymore. I'm hesitant to get involved with new shows on television anyway because as soon as you invest enough time in a show to start liking the characters and figuring things out enough to really enjoy it (after a season or two, three tops) they start making changes or just cancel them altogether. It reminds me of a Dollar Store mentality of use it and throw it away then buy another one. It's just not my kind of television I guess. Even when I watch shows online I look for the series that have many seasons worth available and the kind of shows that keep me thinking.

Ive signed before, but signed again cool.gif it would be great if VDO got on another tv show, i think he said it would be opposite to Goren though.

Yeah, I don't want to get too invested in another show like I did for Loci, either, but not because I'll have to get used to it or worry it will get canceled. I think I am just focused on Loci for now, and even if I like the stories of other cop shows, I don't want to get too 'close' biggrin.gif My favorite shows mostly consist of comedies, but Ci was the first drama show I became absorbed in. It must be the Sherlock Holmes-type of theme. I'm not saying there aren't shows that are similar to this, but that it felt different watching. It felt like working hard and studying was encouraged, ethics, compassion and important elements in relationships were taught, and it made you think and analyze every aspect of the show. Even though this show and the characters aren't real, I looked up to Goren & Eames as models where I honestly couldn't get to anywhere else in real life. Sorry if I sound silly, but it is true, and everything that I have learned from this show, I can apply to real life.

And now they want to make this show 'fluffy', where depressing situations and real characters are turned into clouds in the pretty blue sky. Let there be other fluffy shows, that's fine, but when Robert Goren is cast out for being considered too "dark", "brooding" & "depressing," it's as if people like him are not welcome in the world. He is a compassionate, diligent and charming man. After suffering for so many years in his life, he comes out strong and still willing to help the world in the ways he knows how. But they only see the depressing side of Goren...and don't look at his virtues or how he's come out of those the depressing parts of his life. What are people going to learn from that?

Just wanted to get that off my chest.

I saw the post on the VDO leaving thread about the radio station this morning

At the radio station their blog dated yesterday says

"9am - Matt went through his cell phone and randomly picked a number to call, which today happened to be that of Vincent Pastore. Deep down, I was secretly hoping he'd be annoyed by the unexpected call and would yell at Matt (conflict makes for good radio), but Vincent was excited to join the show."

There is a picture of Vincent Pastore next to the blog entry.

I am sending my own emails and using the mass email too -- will do more. I have postcards ready to mail today and will pick up more cotton balls tonight. Thanks to those who are keeping us organized and motivated.

My anxiety level is high right now because all I do is think about LOCI and how I wish there were new episodes coming soon. I don't think seeing an occasional VDO movie will be enough for me at this point - although better than nothing. I just think he needs to stay with the show for a few more years to give people like me more time to get used to him not being there. If the writers are struggling for stories, I am sure many of us could throw a few suggestions their way. Then maybe we could make the big bucks. How about having Eames solve a murder mystery using clues Bobby left her before going into a coma. Hey no one but Goren and Eames could do that. Afterall Eames has grown in her role by learning from the master. That is my latest wish for a compelling story, not that I wish any harm to Bobby - just another chance for Eames to shine. cool.gif

Off to do more emailing.

Thanks Bammi....fast and easy, that's what we were going for...people are always pressed for time these days...anything to make it less painful!

I know I get a lot of "action" letters from my varous causes and their forms just have you put in your information and hit send. I will admit, they get me to do a lot more that way. I think if we accept that he chose to go we will always wonder WHY? Did he just want out, was it money...I saw another French article that said he had problems with the producers...I don't think we will ever know.

I do know that regardless I am LESS then thrilled with how USA handled the whole thing. They thought they could just put JG there and we wouldn't notice - WRONG.

I don't know the answer, I sure wish I did. I want to believe that he just felt that he done all he could for "BobbY" and so decided to leave.

But what about Katie??? Did she choose to leave and why?

I don't know. It could have been handled some much better for everyone, actors and fans.

After all - we pay their salaries.

Thanks, charley_4, I appreciate it. The whole article is interesting and just confirms it for me that USA should never have acquired LOCI if they never intended to let it be the drama it was meant to be. They've ruined the show for this fan of eight years. I won't continue to watch their remodeled lighter fare twisted version.

>>>“We won’t greenlight a show if it doesn’t feel it belongs on USA,” said Bonnie Hammer, president at USA as well as NBC Universal Cable Entertainment and Universal Cable Productions, units of the NBC Universal division of General Electric.

“What separates us from the others is that the characters have to be relatable,” she added, meaning they are “quirky, exceptional, just a little off,” without being “dysfunctional” or exuding “negativity.”

“It has to be blue sky,” Ms. Hammer said, and she meant that literally as well as figuratively: USA wants “more shooting outdoors” for its series like “Burn Notice,” she explained, which was relocated to Miami from its original setting of Newark.

And for “White Collar,” “we don’t want to go into the darker, bleaker world of thievery,” Ms. Hammer said, so the scripts present Mr. Bomer’s character, Neal Caffrey, as much more Robin Hood than white-collar crook.<<<

It's as if they want to take a drama and turn it into a cartoon. Pretend dramas. Fake LOCI. Hmph!

This article depresses me more than any of these French articles that are showing up. I won't give up the campaign, but this article makes me wonder....do I really want LOCI to continue on a network like this? Maybe VDO, KE, and EB are the smart ones and are getting out with their dignity intact.

I think I need some comfort food.

I wish ANY other network or broadcast channel had picked up LOCI.

I have to think about an actor that has poured their very soul into developing an exceptional character that stands out from any other on television over eight years time. Eight years. Would they walk away from their work of art if someone suddenly dictated to them that they needed to scrap all of their hard work and come in to work every day and act like every other character on every other show of the network? Would they consider becoming a clone? Would they consider trading their self respect and their respect for their talent and creation for a steady income for themselves and their families in uncertain times? Would they? Or would they continue only until their contract was fulfilled and then attempt to negotiate an arrangement where they could come in to work every day and give a performance that doesn't deceive their longstanding and loyal fan base by destroying their very worth and principles?

If Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe have been fighting against this for two years with the USA network then possibly they have put in their time and done everything they can. I would not fault them for fighting as long as they could (certainly longer than most would) and then stepping away and moving on from a situation like this.

Applause is in order.

I would like to say thanks to all the emailers who are using the multiple emailer...THANKS!

Y'all sent out 420 emails yesterday.

I know we have some power-mailers (Bammi....I know you are one of them) that are sending TONS...GREAT!

I sent about 100 of my own so on Friday USA got hit with AT LEAST 500 emails.

I can see that the people are starting to feel that maybe VDO and KE were right to get out before they found themselves on a show where they were expected to skip and hold hands while talking about "blue skies" and fluff.

If we decide as a group to change the tone of our campaign - I can easily change the email we have on our emailer to reflect that.

We have some folks trying to get a transcript or audio recording of the "radio phone call" and we have others looking for the "lost video" that supposedly goes along with our French video....

I am interested to see how those things play out before I change my mind about anything.

Thanks again!

I'm sorry if I discouraged anyone. I was tired and crabby and that article really depressed me.

I don't think we should change our messages to USA just yet. Even if they left on their own, this article about White Collar to me just underscores the fact that they left because of what USA was doing. And I still think they had some "encouragement" to leave, whether it was money or just USA telling them that there wasn't room for their "dark" characters. In fact, maybe we need to hit them even harder. Maybe it won't bring back G/E or the show as we know and love it, but it will let USA know where we stand with their "blue sky" tactics.

Hmmm....blue sky. We should be able to do something with that phrase, don't you think? I'm going to search for some blue sky photos.

How about this?

Fascinating, isn't it? And no pesky clouds to mess up the image. I think I could just sit all day long and look at nothing but blue skies.

You beat me to it, I read the article and came here to mention that you all should read it. I was GOBSMACKED by it, what kind of a moron is running that network, first NBC crashes the show then throws it to cable where it is embraced ( at first) like a lost child, and now this. A light drama with offbeat yet lovable characters??????????????????? I think I know why the negotiations took so long with Vince ( and possibly kate) this type of rubbish is beyond stupid and I'm sure the air was blue when Vince heard about the " new lighter" show they had planned. Good for him for not allowing himself to become a part of a show like that. I now believe even more tat he didn't so much quit as got backed into a corner and left because there was no show to remain a part of. For the first time since all this started I feel a little better, if he had stayed what would they have made of him? Vince has way too much integrity to stoop this low just to keep a job. Goldbloom can have it, he and the show will meld perfectly, no one can exude fluffy quirk quite like him. I am delighted that after Vince's final show I will no longer have to watch this inane drival passing itself off as a drama. Dick must have lost his mind to let them destroy the show like this, either that, or the money must make it worthwhile. To the Goldbloomers on the board, take the show, what's left of it, and if that's the show you can stomach after eight years of fine drama, you deserve it!

I apologize too after reading my earlier post I realize that I probably should have posted my rant in a different thread. I am NOT wanting the Campaign to stop and I hope no one is discouraged. I am more for USA hearing our voice now than ever before. If they want their single brand of fluff and blue skies, etc. they can have it but I'm all for letting them know that the actors and the fans that came to their network to watch them deserve much better. Go Team! smile.gif

If you are interested in all the TIME, EFFORT and MONEY$$$$

USA Network is spending on White Collar take a peek at the article....

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/23/business...3adco.html?_r=1

This is clearly USA Network trying to sell a brand to ad buyers that are far more picky about where they will spend their ad dollars these days than ever before. That's why I have also been saying those same ad buyers may very well have refused to pay sufficient ad rates for VDO/KE episodes, especially if those episodes skew cosiderably older viewer-wise than JG/JN-SB episodes (and remember, we who post on message boards are NOT the average viewer, it may be the more casual viewer is not a Goren-Eames fan like many here are).

I very much agree that JG episodes are aimed at a younger, male audience. My 16 year old stepson liked JG much better than the Goren/Eames episodes. His TV tastes are Glee and Family Guy...teen. I think if JG has a chance he will be pulling from that age group and maybe the Psych viewership which sees geared to younger viewers as well.

Now, with all the talk of fluff...I like fluff...just not enough to watch TV for it.

When I read (which I do OFTEN) my tastes are towards mysteries - Rita Mae Brown and Lillian Jackson Braun....mystery fluff. So, I get my fill of fluff there.

Shame they ever bought the show...should have gone to TNT...they "know drama". wink.gif

If you remember two and a half years ago, NBC nearly cancelled the mothership, and if it did, TNT was fully prepared to continue it there with a full 22-episode season (as opposed to the normal 13-16 episodes most shows do on cable). It was only when execs at USA Network panicked about the prospect of TNT getting the mothership that NBC acted as they did, keeping the mothership and moving "CI" to USA Network.

I'm not even sure the execs who orchastrated that move are the ones currently in place at USA. I believe that move was done under different management.

I'm sure I won't change my mind about anything. I will never forgive USA for what they did, and that recent remark by Bonnie Hammer only reinforces it. If Vincent and Kathryn decided they wanted to leave because of the changes, I understand that. But I also believe that USA is to blame for trying to make LOCI a sweet sunshiny show that it was never meant to be. USA knew what they were getting when they brought LOCI over. And if they want to be all fluffy, then why do they have SVU, NCIS, and all those movies? It's hypocritical. They want their network to be fluffy, but I bet they like the money that comes in from CI, SVU, and NCIS.

I say keep on with the campaign. If we stop now, they'll think all they had to do was weather a week of protest, that they knew in the end we'd all come around very compliently, like they planned. But I won't. I never intend to watch USA (except for Goren CIs.) again if this goes according to their plan. I say keep on campaigning.
