Anyone else noticed that the Chief hasn't been in the last couple of episodes?

The lack of Chief Vick this season is criminal! She's maybe been in just half the episodes? Some weeks they didn't even mention her. We saw more of her when she just a "guest star" in Season One.

Does anyone know why she's been in so few episodes? Kirsten Nelson doesn't have anything current (besides Psych) listed on her IMDB page, so I she's maybe not working on another television/film project right now.

I hope we get to see more of her in the second half of the season.

It feels like she hasn't been in many at all this year. Does anyone know if she'll be in the next one?

She isn't in this weeks episode, but i know for a fact that she will re-appear in episode 4.11 “A very Juliet episode”, next year. I realy miss her, Kirsten Nelson is a wonderful actress and is sadly the most underated and under used cast member (they must have a good reason for it). Maybe they have had budget cuts and could only sign her up for a certain ammount of episodes, or it could be for personal reasons, who knows?

Totally! She keeps everyone balanced - puts Lassie in his place & gets Shawn back on track.

I've missed her too. She's one of those characters that you don't realize how much you like her until she's not there.

She is going to be in Shot in the Dark, though, right? I mean, it'd be really weird for her to not be in it when one of her employees has been shot/kidnapped. If she's not in it I at least hope they do a name drop.

Yeah, it really is insidious how they snuck in this "no chief" run without even mentioning it before. It's a mystery appropriate for one of the greatest psychic minds...

It's been a long time since we've seen her.. well, hopefully she will be back in the second half of the season (i don't think she's going to be in tomorrow's episode). It's weird not having her around though

I have noticed that also. I think they are going to have a big case involving her, where we will see alot of her.

Anyone know when after this episodewe can expect to see newer episodes of Psych. The other problem I have beisdes not getting my Psych fix is that twice they took a 2 week break. TWICE. I hope for more episodes next season

I was praying she'd be in Shawn Takes a Shot in the Dark, but I have the sinking feeling that the Vick Dry Spell will continue. Which bother me, because you're all right; she's awesome. Much as I love Lassie-poo, I do highly enjoy seeing Vick put him in his place once in a while (especially when he deserves it). Normally, I'm not one for the strong, female characters because they usually come off as overbearing, but Karen Vick is the kind of woman I can really respect. She's aces in my book! <3

So I really do hope we'll be seeing her again soon.

Nope, she wasn't in this week's episode, but she was mentioned. Hopefully she will be on next season.

I have noticed it a lot. It feels like I haven't seen the Chief in a long time.

It's not like they can't bring her in with some story lines either.

Her child is probably getting older now and we have never seen her husband. I think they need to play up her sister dating Lassie too. It's a great way to get her (the Chief mainly) back into the mix and finally have Lassie get out of his funk of being a "loser with the ladies."

Oh yeah I completely forgot about Lassie and Chief Vick's sister. They never really expanded on that, but they probably could. Plus it would mean bringing Jane Lynch back and she's hilarious, and like you said it would bring Chief Vick back

I noticed Cheif Vick's absence a long time ago and it still irks me. My favorite character interaction is with Chief Vick and Shawn. Just how she goes along with Shawn even though she might yell at him for evidence she still takes what he says and thinks about it. She might or might not actually believe Shawn's pyschic but she believes in him as a detective even though he really isn't one.

With the whole lack of Chief Vick in mind I'm writting a fanfic about it. I've graduated High School and work my butt off Full Time but I still have a passion for writting stories especially fanfiction.

Where Lassie realizes the chief has been missing and goes into "she's been captured by terrorists" mode and calls in the FBI, Homeland Security, the National Guard, members of the UN, etc to find "those bastards". He claims she's been held against her will by bad people since the beginning, her husband isn't real because no one has ever met him yet... oh boy does he go on. Jules goes along with it all because she's concerned for the chief but notices Shawn seems to not care about what's going on. The whole time Shawn has been insisting for Lassie to call Chief Vick's husband of course he's being ignored or rebuffed. Finally fed up, Shawn marches over to the speaker phone, dials Vick's husband (since he was the ONLY person who acutally HAS met her husband) exchanges greetings, asks for the chief and she is put on the phone. She explains how much fun she's having on the Disneyland Cruise her husband surprised her and her daughter with... she told Lassie about it before she went on the trip and was hoping he would have told everyone where she was going. Of course Lassie hadn't been paying attention because it was right before an important arrest but thankfully Shawn was pretending to be a window washer in the background and had heard the whole thing. He wanted to tell Lassie what was going on but knew Lassie wouldn't have listened to him anyway. Besides, watching Lassie spin out of control on his own was fun for Shawn. Chief doesn't think it was so entertaining considering the uproar that came from it. She says to Lassie: "When I come back you and I are going to have a little talk about paying attention when you're being spoken to...." it makes Lassie cross but Shawn smirk. This is just the B-storyline of the episode since I have to get Gus and an actual case in there. I'm not sure on what I should use a the title either; "When the Cat's Away, the Mice PANIC" or "Chief Vick-ki-Tikki-Tavi"

The the following episode I'm trying to think up an episode where the Cheif gets involved in a case herself like going under cover with Shawn and Gus or something... that should be fun.

Thanks for asking for us! IMDB says she was in all of the last episodes, which we all know is a lie! I was checking to see if maybe she was working on a movie or something, but it didn't have anything mentioned. I hope we get to see Vick's daughter again at somepoint during the series. Maybe Kirsten wanted some time off for her real life family?
