Eh.Ma.Gawd.
I like started to tear up at the end. I'm a romance buff, even though there wasn't that much romance. I'm glad Ziva is home and safe. I can't wait to see next week's episode. Tony risked his life for Ziva. He got captured for Ziva. *Fangirl sigh* Well, I'll be planning their wedding over the next few episodes.
Haha, Micheal and Cote talked about Ziva and Tony's wedding even though it's probably not gonna happen. I was laughing the whole time they were talking.
.... Ziva's hair is coooool in this episode.

Good start I suppose. But how did Gibbs snipe that guy, then appear in the same building as Ziva, Tony, and McGee? He seemed to teleport there.

Sep 22 2009, 09:00 PM
Poor Ziva didn't look too happy to be home. She'll probably be a little off for a few episodes from all the trauma but I loved the ending. The whole episode was put together pretty well. Olivia was probably jumping up and down with happiness when Tony was confessing how he couldn't live without Ziva while he was under that truth serum.

600 meters is much closer than you think. You also are thinking in something closer to real time than that was.
KellyK
Sep 22 2009, 09:09 PM
I don't know how far 600 meters is but I guess he couldn't have been but so far away to be able to shoot and have the bullet hit as accurately as it did. I was thinking they probably had a vehicle stashed away somewhere because he didn't look out of breath from running. lol Wow, now Ziva and Gibbs have both killed someone to save each other's lives.

600 meters is a little over 1/4 mile. Technically, depending on the gun used, Gibbs could have been up to a mile away, or a little over 1 1/2 kilometers. That, however, is at the extreme edge of performance for both the weapon and the shooter. The way they showed the distance, it looked to be more like around 1/2 mile, or just over 800 meters.
As for the episode itself, I was a little put off by it. It was definitely good, but it could have been better. I think they tied up the loose ends a little too quickly. I think that if they had drawn it out into a two-part episode, it could have been done a lot cleaner.
That said, it was definitely NOT what I was expecting, and that is a good thing! Seven seasons, and they can still throw me for a loop! Now THAT is the mark a good show! I definitely can't wait to see what happens next week!

Ok, so you can tell the difference in 200 meters by what they show in a few seconds of television. I'll have to remember to take that into consideration.
Yeah maybe they coulda taken that into multiple episodes. Say maybe 30 or 40? You seriously need to get over yourself.

I need to get over MY self? Are you kidding me? YOU seriously need to drop your attitude. I was simply making a reasonable guesstimate on the distance, which, realistically (do you know anything about the real world, kid?) would have put the shot at around a half a mile. And I said a two-part episode, NOT just an ambiguous "multiple-episodes".

I agree with Roadkill. 30 minutes into the show, it felt like it was going to be a two part episode. It felt rushed towards the end, but not that bad to ruin it. They could have easily ended the episode when they brought in Ziva and having Tony "shocked" to see her.

The same length of 6 football fields. 1 meter = 1 yard (3 feet), so 1200 feet.

Down boy. Is there a need to get riled up over an estimate so meaningless? Let's do a little arithmetic.
An average high school track,
as answered by a simple search, is 400 meters (1/4th of a mile). 4 laps around would be a mile. So let's say he was 600-800 meters away. If it takes the
average person to run 100 meters (1 football field as described above) in 15 seconds, 600-800 would take 90-120 seconds respectively (or 1:30 - 2:00). Perhaps Gibbs took a 4-wheeler (ATV) or a Jeep which would explain how he got there so fast, but considering how "fast" things happen in TV, this could be a little hazy.

What, you don't want +30-40 episodes of NCIS? I personally would love it.
Now for my thoughts! I recently started watching the series. I've been getting acquainted with the storyline and characters through the back-to back-to back episodes they show in the afternoons - even if the seasons are all scrambled! For someone who doesn't watch TV a whole lot, NCIS gives me a reason to turn it on. This series premier was absolutely fantastic! I, too, thought mid-way that it was going to take more than 1 episode to wrap up the whole situation, but great flashbacks always help in that ordeal. Here's to a great season, with many laughs, headslaps, and action, cheers!

My guess is that they will reveal more of the details in upcoming episodes here and there making it even better for NCIS fans. They seem to do that allot on NCIS. I would have hated it if they had ended it right after Ziva saw Tony. They made it great for a standalone episode and did answer so many of the questions viewers would have after the season finale last time and also left it with great possibilities for continuation in future episodes.

I was so glad that they had tony say he couldnt live with out her that was awesome. I like mcgee's hair this season. It also seem like mcgee is more confindent in himself which I think was great. Cant wait for next weeks

I really have to agree it should have started out like it did but have them bring Ziva in not long after the show strted all the going back and forth kinda ruined it all for me other than that I really loved it.And Ziva we have to remember she was at that camp a lot longer than Tony and Tim So yeah i bet she will need some serious help in that sheis so tromatized it about broke my heart but then she noticed it was Tony there and oh my *sigh*I think she had really given up hope she would live through this she said she was ready to die and she wanted tony and tim out of there.......But I can't wait till Tue to see hw it plays out .....Go Team our Girl i back where she is suppose to be ...Oh and I wonder if her dad thinks she is dead???????I bet he does unless Vance*growls*Goes and tells him she is alive.......

I hope you folks have better luck. I couldn't get it to load from hulu or from CBS' site directly. Just kept stuttering and stuttering until I finally gave up. I tried changing all the settings I could think of, watch in a room and by myself, in HD and not in HD, low quality and high quality, etc...all to no avail. (sigh)
A funny thing about the CBS site: When I tried watching in a room there were all these people kissing each other like we was in a theater or something. I kept hearing these noises and saying, "What was that!?" And then I would see lips up on the screen. LOL. I had never tried CBS before. It was a funny and unsuccessful attempt.

Anybody know why Ziva returned to DC and not to Israel? She was on a Mossad mission to Somalia, not an NCIS mission. Hmmm.....??
RoadKill
Sep 23 2009, 05:26 PM
Well, since Mossad landed her where she was, and NCIS were the ones that went and saved her butt, it would probably stand to reason that 1) She's really not happy with Mossad right now, and 2) She didn't want to be too ungrateful. Plus she probably has her own agenda for making Mossad think she is dead, IF they do.

Allot of information was given fairly quickly and I wasn't really sure at the time if it was shipwrecked or if Gibbs' was implying that that was "the story" of what happened when actually someone attacked the ship and kidnapped Ziva with her being alive and "the story" being a shipwreck with no survivors. I did wonder though who exactly wanted to gain information about NCIS and if Ziva's father was behind it in some way. As tired as I was last night though I'm sure I could easily have missed a few things - that's why I'm hoping the rain lets up here so I can watch it again online.
