There have been a number of episodes where comments have been directed towards Marshall indicating people thought he was gay. Any thoughts on whats up with that? Because I can't see why he would give that impression and Marshall's reactions to the comments are always puzzled (and a little alarmed) too.

I think because he's well dressed, intelligent, soft spoken and knows an awful lot about women in general. He's also not traditionally handsome and doesn't leer at women. He's a true renaissance man and slightly metrosexual. All that makes some people stereotype him. Marshall thinks of himself as pretty manly (no pun intended ), so he's truly puzzled as to why people would assume he's gay.
