The episodes this season have been wonderful so far, they've been funny, entertaining and interesting throughout, and I especially love when they go into different "worlds" (EX: "Tuesday the 17th"/"Friday the 13th" or "High Noon-ish"/"Cowboy Movies" or "The Devil's in the Details... and the Upstairs Bedroom"/"The Exorcist")
But, I feel that the commercials for the episodes do not do the content of the episode justice, let's take "The Devil's in the Details..." for example, the episode is basically Psych's homage to "The Exorcist, but the commercial did not convey that in any way, and if I didn't know what the episode was about through online spoilers, then I don't think I'd be very interested, or if I was flipping channels and saw that commercial and was not framiliar with "Psych" then I certainly would not think of watching because
A.) It did not grab my attention very well - (Shawn and Gus have gone to a school before, that's not even what the episode was about.)
B.) They chose an immature joke (which was funny in context, but not alone) to put in the commercial which could be off putting to new comers of the show.
Thoughts or opinions? Do you agree or disagree? Or do you just not care?

I agree about the promo for The Devil is in the Details. It could have so much better and I hoping it would have scary scenes in it. The others promos weren't that bad. Who makes the promos?? Is it the network or someone who works on Psych??

I agree completely. If I had seen the trailer for Devil's in the Details and I had not watched Psych before, it would have sealed its fate forever in my eyes, which would be never giving the show a chance. It made it look as if it was making fun of church-goers (in a way), and the joke sounded absolutely profane when you think of it in the wrong way.

it wasnt a very good promo but i also think they didnt want to have any of the horror stuff in the commercial cuz then new people might not want to watch or they might think the show is too scary (especially for 10/9pm) and not watch it at all.
so i mean, u didnt know it was about an exorcism but im pretty sure that was on purpose.

i agree that they didnt want to reveal too much about it, i also think that it could have been more... whats the word? enticing? well idk what word im looking for but i know what i mean and i hope all of you do too.
EDIT: ok a little bit better explanation- the commercial didn't do the episode justice

Thank you guys for agreeing with me, the thing is, what would've gabbed my attention is if they said at least SOMETHING about an exorcism, or they could've had the clip of the preist saying that he thought she was possesed, that would've hooked me in. It just gave a complete misreading of the episode and did not say anything about the plot itself, in the commercial they do say "Shawn and Gus go parochial..." but, in the actual episode they were at the school for about ten minuets!
About it being too scary tvspaz626, the commercial for "Tuesday the 17th" was pretty freaky, but funny, which made me want to see the episode, what hooked me on that one was that it didn't look like an episode of Psych to begin with, but then they mention Shawn and Gus, and if you're a fan, then you're like "this is gonna be epic!" and if you doin't know the show you'd be like "WTF? That looks awesome, I know where I'll be Friday at 10pm, 9pm central!"
And USAophile I think someone who works on Psych should review the commercials, like at Pixar, they review all of the trailers for their films before they go out and release them, and not just the ones that are specifically animated as commercials, but even the ones that are mash ups of clips from the movie, to make sure they are made well and are appealing for most people.
I just hope they don't down play "Let's Get Hairy!" or "Shawn Takes A Shot in the Dark" because those are going to be really awesome and deserve cool commecials!
