Man, Bill and Kell. They're quite the team, aren't they? Kell seems to be notorious for writing a kick ass Lassiter as well as all things food related. That being said, I'm going to credit pizza chili cheese fries to Kell, if it was Bill's idea, my apologies to you good sir.
The one major thing I think we all can appreciate is the fact that this episode did have a very serious foundation, but they were able to make light of the situations at hand. It really goes to show how much of a hybrid (as James likes to call it) this show really is. They obviously never fail to find humor. Not only that, but they honestly threw me for a couple of loops tonight, I won't lie. I was so caught up in how intense and fast paced the episode was moving along that the voice inside of my head that thought the little Speed stunt was completely outrageous (in a good way

), was muted. This episode had me transitioning from laughing so hard to freaking out from the magnitude of the events taking place, even if it was simply a mysteriously placed phone, underneath an elliptical no less. Only on this show, I swear.
I'm putting this out there now; my favorite part of the entire episode could possibly be the cordless phone runner.
Happy Birthday to Buzz. Too bad it was a total bust.
I'm a huge baseball fan, so I enjoyed seeing the entire SBPD in their baseball attire. Also, it was nice to see them all outside of the station being social with one another.
"They should call it the sucks." HA!
Shawn was so frantic. Although, if I realized a patron had a gun and was endangering the lives of my friends and innocent bystanders, I'd be panicked trying to get the attention of the crazed gun happy head detective, too.
"Police! Freeze douchebag!" Greatness. Tim shooting two guns. I'm not sure I can say much more. Tim was obviously on cloud 9 with a scene like that. Anyone who has watched his interviews or seen the Comic-Con panel can attest to that.
Stab in the Dark oddly reminded me of shot in the dark
"Fact, you say that word again I'll punch you in the face."
After Henry's initial reaction in the station after the shooting, I was a little sad to see them not expand on that little exchange later in the episode. It's totally understandable, though, because there was so much other stuff going on. I enjoyed the panic that we saw from Henry, though. Not to mention the fact that Shawn decided to eat a banana after a traumatic incident just had me rolling. "Big ol' papa monkey."
I really dug the fact that they stepped aside from the madness that was about to ensue in the episode and made the hole so the Chief could offer counseling to anyone who wanted to seek it. I just thought that that was a real moment where all the characters stepped away from everything and they examined the psychological perspective of them after the fact.
I liked Shawn restaging the crime scene…
"Did you want to scoop out the last lesbian?"
26 seconds to sing Happy Birthday?
I thought the scene with Shawn recreating the shooting was amazing. The fast pan of the camera coming up alongside of James then around his shoulder to the back of his shirt falling onto his number was great. I absolutely loved that. It was edited nicely too with the flashback right before the pan and they actually had the 'Happy Birthday' voice over going. That was my favorite scene in the entire episode. And the lighting was wonderful. All and all, I thought the direction and cinematography throughout the entire episode was gorgeous.
Did anybody else love the fact that Lassiter hesitated then reluctantly answered the phone when Shawn called? The call that saved his life, no less! By the way, that crash was pretty crazy.
"You asking Shawn the psychic or Shawn the guy who worked a couple afternoons at a Meineke?"
"Lassie, the frozen yogurt guy is out front, do you want to get one? Oh wait, you can't" What an ass, lol. Although I like how Tim completely nailed James with his mitt.
The idea of Lassie being sequestered inside of the department is hilarious.
The transition from the station to the Psych office was awesome.
Okay, again with the cordless phone. Hilarious, but why the hell didn't they just use one of their cell phones to call Luigi's?
"London Finance Times and Dog Fancy." Quite the diverse taste, yes?
Thing in the box with the guy in the thing translates to confession. I personally thought that bit was hilarious.
I appreciated seeing Lassiter so emotional involved in this case. For obvious reasons he was, but I liked hearing him plead his case to the Chief about the outcome of the trial eating him up for three years. Also, the slightest hint of remorse on Lassiter's face when they realize that Buzz was on the case as well. I thought that was a good little addition from Tim.
Poor concussed Buzz. Poor Buzz all around.
"Oh god, I would kill to be on a toilet right now."
That scene started to bring a nice little friendship love moment to the surface but was halted with Shawn admitting he took even more money from the department.
Maggie looked like she almost took a spill because she rounded that corner in the Psych office so quickly. She's got some hustle.
"What kind of sick trainer have you been working with?!" Shawn is right, though. That was a nice little strategy to relieve some of the tense building up, though.
"We're idiots." Shawn's exercised rattled brain totally misinterpreted that one.
I like how James slid under the railing when the sprinklers came on.
What the hell was Buzz doing up and walking around if he has a severe concussion?
"Shawn, you might want to let this go."
"What IS this thing??"
Nice callback with them moving the table. Like Steve said, whenever they have to lift anything, it's the heaviest item known to man.
Shawn is freaked out by tassels. That's a new one.
The scene with Lassiter being interview with Shawn and Gus playing their game with camera time was hilarious. I'd read that in the sides however long ago, so seeing it acted out was great.
"KNOCK IT OFF!"
"Wait for iiiiit."
Elliptical as a ladder, pure genius.
"This is charging. This is not. What's wrong with you?"
That was a pretty dramatic scene in the cemetery. Lassiter reminded me of a hostage negotiator during that.
"I'm not gonna lie."
"SINCE WHEN?!"
Poor Shawn, that throw was horrible, but Lassie taking him down was awesome. And he was in cuffs. I won't lie, Lassiter was pretty bad ass this evening.
Oh, the Jamaican accent is back!! And jerk chicken, that one went away for a little while.
Intense, hilarious, absolutely ridiculous, all the things that make Psych, Psych. Another amazing episode in the books, no doubt. Thanks to the writers, cast, producers, and crew for another wonderful ride.
