Kudos for the cloak of secrecy; when it's something big, I prefer to be surprised (I do have a couple ideas and how each could be played; either way, between this and his escapes in Season 4, I'll wager that unless he feels he has good reason to do so, Monk'll be weddinged out for the next decade or so after this.

Here's a tip for all you L.A. people. Monk will be filming in Rancho Palos Verdes somewhere in the vicinity of Abalone Cove. Somebody saw them setting up for a shoot tomorrow. I think they'll still be filming "Best Man".

This should be an interesting episode for me...I'm apparently supposed to be in a wedding myself as a bridesmaid and the wedding was originally supposed to be in August....now Monk will get to step into my world again for a bit!!!

I think I'd cry my eyes out if it was Natalie's wedding ... either that or vomit .

However, I really don't think it is. I think that it's good ole Stot's wedding. I think that Monk/Nat shippers and anti-Monk/Nat shippers would all agree that it's all about keeping people hooked, watching the show to the very, very end -- if Natalie gets married, even 3 or 4 episodes before the finale, how many people would stop watching? If the writers are smart, they'll wait to the very tail end of the last episode before making anything happen with Natalie and her relationships.

Beatiful pictures and the presence of Tony's brother as a priest. But it's so painful to see them wrapping up eveybody's story...it brings the end so close to us. Anyway, I loved the pictures!

Then again, it's possible that although we the viewers may be meeting the character for the first time there, the captain has known her before, perhaps in a notable chapter in his life that hasn't become relevant until now.

Yeah I agree. It seems a little rushed and a little cheesey to me. No offense to those who like this plotline, but I'm not too excited about it. I don't like the rushed marriage or the bride's name or anything else about it. I'm still hoping that it turns out different, but from the pictures it doesn't look good for me and what I want

Those are great photos! Hey, love at first sight is always good!! I actually like that her name is Trudy. Maybe her name somehow really awakens Monk's consciousness to be able to solve his Trudy's murder!

Yes sadly it does seem forced unless, of course, it is a camoflague shotgun marriage which would explain its secrecy and hyper-speed courtship and truncated wedding ceremony but, perhaps, it is simply one of the many surprises the writers have planned for us, I guess. In anycase, I think we would welcome his finding happiness.

I wonder if the writers also plan something like a rushed ending to bring closure to Natalie role's as well? Hope not.

What is really interesting is how do they plan to bring closure to Randy? Will it be a promotion, marriage to his one date girl friend or Natalie, or will they have him quit the force and form a rock band? Personally, I would like to see the latter for he seems the happiest playing music.

Life if full of surprises no matter what happens!

Then again, they could also make it more plausible to the average fan if either they infer more time has passed between this week and the episode's airdate than would seem evident, or if they have the captain mention the character each week till then to show a gradual warming of affection. We'll have to see.

The thing that bugs me the most is that her name is Trudy. I don't know why, but it does. Maybe it will play out better and not annoy me as much on screen, but when I read that her name was Trudy I just rolled my eyes and groaned. Are they trying to set up conflict between Monk and Stott with this? It really shouldn't, because Monk loved Trudy, not because of her name, but because she was super bad ass. And the captain (also super bad ass) is his best friend, so Monk should be happy for him. So, if he has a fit about the name, that will be irritating.





Yeah, I have to agree with the Leland love. Maybe that's why I hate this plot so much. I'm just jealous of Trudy 2.0.

In a thread I posted some time ago on the absence in the series the past two years to Natalie's dating, many fans felt that she most likely would have continued to do so eventhough nothing is mentioned so if we can extend that reasoning to the situation with the Captain as well, then what seems forced may be rationalized into acceptance as simply the revelation of a romance that had been brewing for a long time but was never mentioned due to the limitations of each episode in contentrating so intently on the activities of the two main characters as well as the monetary restrictions of a limited budget.

I think its great that Leland gets married. After the awful divorce they put his character through. At least its a happy ending for him.

More happy endings would be:

Monk solves Trudy's murder and gets alot better
Randy gets a promotion and gains Leland's respect
Natalie wins 50 mil in the lottery/Mitch comes back and she needs to hire an assistant

I noticed that as well...I can't wait to hear this song! Wonder if it'll be better than his tribute to the fallen Adrian Monk.

I am pretty new to these posts...and I learn something new everyday...My daughter thought that it was probably getting married...but these photos don't actually leave me with a warm and fuzzy feeling about this wedding. I do notice to the side of Monk there are two buys...looks like older teens ...or early twenties...I am guessing that these are Leland's sons...

There is one photo where Natalie is looking somewhat embarassed by something Monk is apparently saying...and another where Monk is showing something to Leland on a small pink camera while Randy seems to be writing stuff down. That one happy look of Monk's reminds me of when Monk has solved the case...so he is either solving it in the middle of the wedding or it has something to do with someone in that wedding. Hopefully old Stot didn't hook up with another murderess...

It's that ALEX455 blog...that reads "MORE" pics...the one that you mention seeing Randy with his guitar...There are several more photos in that particular link...if you go through each you should see the couple photos that I am referring to. Everyone was saying that they were happy for Leland ...getting married and all...in the photos...but like I said I am not sure that everything is going totally smooth based on some of the photos...

Oh! Okay, I think that the reason I didn't know what you meant is because we each got slightly different interpretations from the photos. Like you said to you it looks like Randy is writing stuff down, but I think he's messing with a cell phone or something. And that's not Tony or Ted holding the little pink camera, that's the woman in the green sweater standing behind him, and I don't think he's looking at it, it's actually sort of behind him, like the woman is filming whatever Tony is doing with his hands that Ted is looking at. In fact, I sort of think this may have been taking place while the cameras weren't rolling, like maybe during a reset, so maybe Jason is sending someone a text message and it's not supposed to be Randy playing with a phone at all. Otherwise, there are a lot of people and things that will be in the scene that are kind of weird for a wedding, like the woman standing behind the groom in very casual dress filming with her pink camera .

What I gather from these pictures, it looks to me like Monk is supposed to be carrying the ring, and he puts it on his little finger to keep up with it and gets it stuck and Natalie and Stottlemeyer are trying to get it off. This will probably be the moment that he will have his epiphany and solve the case, something about the ring getting stuck will make him think of whatever case he is working on.

But I'm just guessing a lot based on a few photos, I have been known to be wrong.

Relooking at those photos I agree with your assessment...I would like to see Leland finally be happy...but he does have that reputation as far as women ...so you just never know. But him finding someone special...would be great as far as I am concerned...

I don't think Trudy is in the witness protection program...but wouldn't it be cool if Natalie's husband is? He comes back. They reunite. Monk finds a neice he didn't know he had...I am hoping it is a very young neice...one that he will have to take care of...maybe the child of the half brother in and out of prison or a neice to Trudy from a black sheep brother or sister of hers. I think having a big responsibility and a family would end up being just what the doctor order for MONK. If it is Monk's half-brother's child...her name will be MOLLY MONK...how cute is that....???? Just some thoughts on how I like to see Natalie and MONK finish up....

I think I remember hearing that some episodes this season have been run out of their original order. Was this "Best Man" episode supposed to run before the Sharona episode? Because Leland was wearing a wedding ring tonight!

Actually...yes I think you're right! But they're was an even more noticeable mistake that I think they realized would have taken precedence for fixing...he called T.K. his girlfriend. Oops.
