Is it just me, but i want to see Mike and Fiona get it on
rebecce
B)Welcome to the board. biggrin.gif I am just wondering, how long have you been watching the show?
Just in case you just started watching i will tell you that they have already hooked up a few times.
They are exes who do still love each other but because of Micheal's job and her past as a ex IRA operative & his "asset" it is hard for them to be together. Micheal wants to go back & she does not want him to go back so they are not together because of it.
They do however do "booty calls" every once in a while, wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif huh.gif happy.gif ohmy.gif wink.gif tongue.gif biggrin.gif Thank God!!

Ah, yes, the push and pull of their relationship. We've got an entire thread devoted to discussing their relationship, or lack of one. Sometimes it spills over onto the episode discussion thread. Check out the "Shipper" thread -- 39 pages of analysis, speculation and always plenty of angst. You'll love it.

i don't think there is one person who watches the show and doesn't want them together.
if so, you're just odd. (;

I know there are some people out there who don't want or don't care about Michael and Fi being a couple. Some of them just don't want a mushy love story; some of them are just interested in the burn notice part and think there's too much time spent on the family and romance aspects; some of them think Michael and Fi love one another but are afraid that if they admit that to one another that it will ruin the sexual tension which is a fun part of the story; some of them are afraid that Matt Nix will lose his mind and put them in a house with a picket fence.
Back in the X-Files days, we called it "noromos" (no-roam-ohs) as in no-romance; this was as opposed to the "'shippers" as in relationshippers.
Those folks are out there but I don't think they talk about it as much as the rest of us talk about Michael-and-Fi together. Or, maybe it's because this forum is just chockfull of shippers.

I think we're being denied on-screen hookups. What, we've seen two? Hot Spot and what was it? Broken Rules I think? In S3 there seems to be a little more "romance" in terms of the dinner dates, and Michael kind of starting to show his feelings toward Fi but yet maintaining his inability to commit in any way. Or at least his inability to tell her how he really feels. But we're given the sense this season, I think anyway, that they are hooking up in the backgroud, aren't we? So show us some action Nix!!!

I must confess, I'm one of the 'noromos' (thank you LilyHobbs for that one! I've always wondered if there was an opposite of 'shippers'). I don't want to see them as a couple. However, I'm like that with all the shows I watch. It's not just BN. As soon as they start hooking people/established characters up, I lose interest. I don't watch these shows for the romance or faux-sex. I watch these shows for what they were advertised as from the beginning. I'm not explaining myself very well...erm...ok...

For example - I love Leverage, but if they put Parker and Hardison together, I'll scream. They're edging that way......another one is CSI:Miami. It used to be really good, then I stopped watching after season 4, it got ridiculous. Now, they're pushing Delko and Calleigh. (I also stopped watching because David Caruso - whom I adore with the passion of a thousand suns - became (even more of) a joke.) Numb3rs too! I prefered it when Charlie loved Amita from afar. It was cute! Now he's asked her to marry him! It just seems to spoil the show. It changes direction slighty. The focus tends to shift. I'd hate to see that happen to BN......

I'll shut up now.

No need to be quiet about it, Cheffie. It's like USA network is All Characters Welcome. This forum is All Opinions Welcome. I suspect that there are some people here who like to read about the guns, the cars, the watches (all of which I love, too) but don't go anywhere near the Shirtless or Michael and Fiona threads. Well, not after the first time anyway. LOL

That's kind of where I am. While I love the MiFi elements of Burn Notice, I prefer the way it's being handled now over turning it into a "mush love story" or even making it a central focus of the show. I think doing either ruins an amazingly well written TV show. I just don't see how Matt Nix can turn Burn Notice into a "MiFi Happily Ever After" without messing up the storylines or the complex and plausible characters.

In my opinion, the best episodes are ones like Good Soldier and Seek and Destory where the client story is interesting, the plot related to resolving the burn notice is good and there is just enough MiFi to reveal interesting parts of their relationship. I think the only thing more I could ask for is a few more hints that Fi's spending the night in the first half of season three. I would have liked to see some subtle element in Friends and Family though Fearless Leader that MiFi are trying to make a go at it.

I'm with you, HandTools. I'd like to see a little something more, but too much would be out of character for the show.

And I'm assuming that was your Sins of Omission fanfic I just read on fanction.net? (or someone else with your screen name). Anyway, it was great. Thanks for sharing it.

Yes, that's me. Thank you for the kind words...

maybe you guys are right. and plus, if they did get together the show would be over. i just wish they would laugh together sometimes or have more "sexy" scenes. idk, there needs to be something more. maybe they can sit down and talk about the status of their "relationship". i dunno. blink.gif
