I love the show. HATE the Evan Lawson character. Why is the character so annoying?! Can't he be mature like Hank and Divya? His sort of character buffoonery (for want of a better word) works on Psych ... but on this show, his Evan's character is just plain annoying. Seriously, he's supposed to be CPA, can't he at least ACT like an adult?! His character is such a big turn off for me. The show is a great program ... but at the end of each of episode, I am left wishing Evan would just go back to NYC and leave Hank and Divya in the Hamptons. In my opinion, the show would be so much better without his immaturity and annoyance. I am hoping he has growth spurt before the next season. If not, I fear that Royal Pains will have one less viewer.

idk. i actually like evan. he keeps the show comical. all his like annyoing qurks actually work for me. the 1st episoode totally puts evan's character in perspective for the audiance and it's that character that he's held throughout the entire 1st season. people are people and even's just one of those people u can't run away from, espcially wen their family like evan is to hank.

Vee, your dead on when it comes to skinny, gumpy, greedy, and one of the most ANNOYING people on the tube today. The show is pretty good, but I don't think.... I no... I will not be able to take another season with evan. He has to be Hanks step-brother. The character and the guy really get on my nerves.

If he is annoying u that much he is doing his job. I agree there r some nights I would like to strangle him myself. Hope they renew it. Can't wait for the box set to come out.

I love Evan - he's the comic foil. If there were no Evan, I wouldn't watch because Hank is just.so.boring. I think he's sort of "tragically funny" and he has some really poignant moments, too - like when he was "manny" to the kids on the private island.

Hank and Evan play off of each other so well. I love them both.

I agree with you. I wouldn't watch RP either if Evan wasn't there. Hank is boring. Jilly is boring. Boris is interesting and Divya is getting better. In the beginning I thought she was rude and nasty but she's coming around. Evan steals the show. There would be no show if it weren't for Evan.
