Ok did anyone else pick up on the fact that the one guy called Mary Blanca? I know for a fact that if you where to actually call someone that here in New Mexico you'd get laughed out of the state. I think they where meaning Gringa.

Perhaps the one that spoke it was not from New Mexico? Sorry, I dunno enough about dialects. Maybe they were counting on that, though. laugh.gif

It's a term used to imply that you're a *stupid* white person.

It's also used to mean a white Hispanic (usually derogatory).

I'm pretty sure "fresa", "blanca" and "poppy" are not warm and fuzzy terms smile.gif

Actually it all really depends on where you are from fresa, blanca, gringa, and papi are not derogatory terms. For most people fresa is used to refer to a girl who is picky and is stuck up, think of the movie Clueless with Alicia Silverstone. Fresa can also refer to a girl who is preppy and from a traditional family. In Mexico most people who are from middle class families are considered fresas. I have also heard that it can refer to a part of girls body, but I have never heard it used that way. I've never heard the word blanca used for a person, it is usually used to refer to drugs. And the word papi is usually used as a term of endearment, its kind of like calling someone darling or honey and I think Mario calls Marshall papi to sort of mock him.
