you know. the timing of the incredibly bad show is interesting. a concierge doctor is right now under indictment for michael jacksons murder or soon to be. is this really a good time for a show about "rich people who get the best of everything" when the same rich people are mostly responsible for the mess the country is in. I am tired of hearing how "awful it is to be rich".

also, as a medical professional, there is really bad medicine being practiced on this show...unsafe medicine. We right now are watching "entertainment" that proves to us how it is that Michael Jackson was able to die. he had a dr. that didn't need to adhere to real medical standards "cause he was rich".

take this dangerous show off the air.

not only that, it's just bad. there are NO redeeming qualities.

so, Monk is going away. Mary (in plain sight) is doing the "who shot JR" BS which just makes me so angry that this country doesn't need 8 months of that crap. we all know she is going to live....stupid. this show sucks. the rest of the main channels are dancing and reality and rediculous shows like "dancing your ass off" that is just Jerry Springer on steroids. I am disgusted.

thank god Law and order stays on tv or I might just dump it. I never ever watch the main three. ever. Do it yourself network looks better and better all the time. sad.

Sorry you are SO unhappy, dearie. You have not figured out the format that USA uses for its series, so you go channel surfing hoping for your brand of entertainment. If Law and Order is your idea of "real"(believable) police work, you have several choices for viewing when you are not on HGTV or the Disney channel. With ratings off the charts and viewers in the millions every week, one unhappy viewer is not going to change what is on 1 network. For our sakes, please use that button that is on your remote--it's the one labeled OFF.

Most TV shows play to the lowest common denominator, and the denominator continues to plunge. And we end up with the kind of shows you mentioned above. I choose to record programs and watch them when I want, which means I don't sit in front of the TV, flipping through channels, seeking entertainment. There are other things to do. People are still writing decent books.

To continue the fine tradition of respectfully disagreeing with you, amethystwomoon, based on your comment that there is bad and "unsafe" medicine being practiced on the show, I'd be interested to know whether your place as a "medical professional" is the housekeeper on the med-surg floor, or the transcriptionist who converts the doctors' dictation of H&P's into electronic format... both of which are honorable professions of themselves. But I surmise that you believe that your place in the profession somehow qualifies you for a medical license.

There are a great number of redeeming qualities on this and nearly every USA Network show, and they've certainly spent the time, effort, and money to carve out their niche in show formats.

And for the record, let's be clear on a few things:

- the show began BEFORE Michael Jackson passed away
- not every rich person who gets "the best of everything" can be classified as the "same rich people [who] are mostly responsible for the mess the country is in"
- in general terms, emergency medicine IS "unsafe medicine"... by which I mean that it's impossible for every emergency situation (which is mostly what gives this show a nice kick) to wait until those involved in the emergency situation drive to a hospital and place themselves in an OR with the wide variety of proper, sterile medical equipment available, and then have the emergency. Sometimes a dirty pen barrel and some vodka are the best equipment, especially if such equipment means the difference between saving a life or standing idly by while you watch it slip away.

The timing issue you mention has no relevance to the show. A "concierge" doctor is NOT necessarily a Dr. Feel Good. The Dr. Feel Good types have been around forever. Need I mention Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Ann Nicole Smith, and the list goes on. A "concierge" doctor who treats wealthy peoply and respects their privacy certainly cannot be blamed for the misdeeds of doctors without a conscience. There are bad apples in every group.

If you don't like this show, don't watch it. It's your choice. I'm sure there is something on The Disney Channel that would interest you.

First of all this show was airing before the MJ dibalical. Secondly you obviously get cable, so there are about 130 channels you could choose from since this show is so offensive... and with that here is an idea....the OFF button. I am sure there is some reality show you could watch.

Apparently it has escaped you that RP is fictional and meant to be entertainment just as Law and Order is FICTIONAL! Why is it that when I am called to do "Jury Duty" during the interview of each potential Juror the inevitable question comes up, "What shows do you watch on TV"? If the potential Juror answers "Law and Order" you can just bet the next question is "Do you really believe that the legal system works that way", it's happened to me and since I hate lawyers I usually am not picked!

So....READ A BOOK....Learn to Knit or crochet....just let the rest of us enjoy some escape-ism with attractive actors and actresses, fancy cars, homes, sun, sand, surf, and blue-blue sky..........P.S. you might try using spell check once in awhile....as a medical professional your spelling is crap!

You are insane. Take a really good tv show off the air because MJ's personal doctor MAY or MAY NOT have caused his death. Get real.
Royal Pains is a great show. I love Concierge Doctors, otherwise known as doctors who do house calls... like in the old days.. are actually making a comeback. In South Florida, where I live, the doctors make house calls. I love it and I love the show.
If you don't like it then dont watch it.
