I'm sure you're all still talking about "He Dead" but this will be here for next week. This is the official topic for the episode "High Noon(ish)".

"High Noon(ish)"
When strange things start happening at Old Sonora Town – a simulated Old West tourist attraction – that threaten to shut it down permanently, Lassiter enlists Shawn and Gus' help to uncover the truth and keep a childhood favorite open.

Watch. Disscuss. Enjoy!
OnceInABlueMoon
OMG, YAY!

This is probably the eppy I've looked most forward to. I have a love for the Old West and anything cowboy, so this next week will probably go by agonizingly slowly for me.
BlackTsChica
I'm definitely looking foward to some Lassie time. Lassie did a bad thing got me longing for more pop-glockin' scenes.

THe new commercial reminded me of Blazing Saddles. I look forward to another fun eppy on Friday. biggrin.gif
kusa23
Does this mean Tim-bo gets to pop back on his Deadwood duds?????

wink.gif

biggrin.gif

I'll be watching!!!! laugh.gif

KA23 cool.gif
Texasartchick
Of all the episodes this season, this is the one I'm looking forward to the most. It appears to be a Lassie-centric storyline with good backstory for his character. AND he gets to shoot guns in the "Old West"! That equals WIN!

OMG me too! i just watched it the other day and i am so excited!
the only things that will get me through this week are my bday and a trip to disneyland... where coincidentally they have an entire old west-themed land!!! im so playing the shooting game wink.gif
Winky_Cutto
Though I think everyone is aware of this from the ComicCon stuff... spoiler thingy just in case...

Spoiler:
I am really excited to see Tim all double gunning it... since I assume that is this episode. Just his (Tim's) pure glee at shooting so much has gotten me really excited about this episode! Not to mention the cowboy theme! Having worked as a camp wrangler before, I'm interested to see if they do anything with horses laugh.gif Since it's been established that Lassie loves horses and wanted a pony when young.

SO EXCITED!!!

I'm excited for all the reasons you stated above. Plus, our favorite guys in cowboy hats. Or at least James. I'm still really hoping Tim's in one, even if it's only for a minute. It would make my week. biggrin.gif

The promo for this episode made me even more excited. Although, I'm sure there are some Lassie fans here who are going to freak out over this episode wink.gif

and as the TiManiacs jump for joy, and the James obsessed part of me is super excited, the Maggie side of me has a sadface. No Juliet in the promo? I hope that doesn't mean anything...

I'm a Roday Roadie (or a Sweet Baby JimmyJam follower), a TiManiac and a Dulé "Sugarhill" Gang member. So I'm going to really enjoy this eppy.

Now I was assuming Maggie wouldn't show up until like eppy four because of her Killer Hair movie. But she'll be back in a BIG way (I won't spoil anything...but she'll get her due!). biggrin.gif

I like Sweet Baby JimmyJam follower.

And I hope Jules is in this episode! It wouldn't be right without her.

And I am super excited for this episode. The country girl is coming out in me in preparation for this episode.

I loved Jules in Tuesday the 17th. She was kick-a*$ And that KIA commercial. That was awesome.

I'm so excited. I loveeeee when Lassiter asks Shawn and Gus for help or just any Lassie-themed episode!
There's seriously nothing better than when Shawn and Lassiter are working together, 'cause Shawn goes out of his way to annoy Lassie and it's hilarious!

I do hope Jules is in the episode. I agree she did kick major ass in Tuesday the 17th. I also love her in Talk Derby to Me!

USAophile
I am very excited for this eppy! I love the Lassie-themed episodes because they always have great dialogue between Lassie, Shawn, and Gus(for example, Lassie Did a Bad Bad Thing) I hope we get to see all three boys in not only cowboy hats but the whole cowboy outfit(we already know we get to see cowboy James!) I also really hope Jules isn't left out of the episode sad.gif I'm sure she'll be in it smile.gif

I really hope they reference Shanghai Noon! That movie is so funny and I always think about it when I see the preview tongue.gif

This week should go by pretty quickly because I'm going camping(which I LOVE) from Monday to Friday! It will make the wait bearable smile.gif
Bubbles749
So, I pretty much jump for joy whenever I see the opening theme with James in the cowboy hat, so I'm more than excited to see an episode full of it!!!! biggrin.gif

I actually like Abigail, although my preference is still Jules. I like Abigail's snarkiness and willingness to call Shawn out on his BS. And seriously, it takes a lot of guts just to show up at your boyfriend's dad's place. Besides, it gives a new dynamic to Shawn and lets him screw up a relationship (and he will) without screwing it up with "the One." However, I wish they took more time to flesh her character out and give us more back story; because giving her just a few snarky come-backs is basically hanging a lampshade on the fact she'll likely be gone by the end of the season.

I like the long video clip of High Noonish. LOL! Lassie does appear scary when he doesn't speak and locks your car doors without you knowing it. Haha! biggrin.gif

James said it in the set interviews they posted. But I couldn't really understand what he was saying at that point so I didn't catch where it was.

YES! I LOVE the way they directed Lassiter's character in that scene! Even happy-go-lucky Shawn is intimidated by him. Lassiter is the Head Detective for a reason! And Lassiter asking for their help, WOW. Just...wow! I can't wait to see this episode, I think it will be my favorite Psych episode of all.

By the way, the locked doors thing - it's a standard feature in the back seat of police cars. Lassiter didn't "lock their doors without them knowing it", they're built that way so suspects in the back seat can't open the doors from the inside. You have to open the rear doors from the outside.

There is a documentary called "The Thin Blue Line" about a guy in Texas who was falsely convicted of murder. In fact, the documentary actually reopened the case and showed how the alleged "witnesses" actually testified for money and the police in the Dallas area ignored evidence in order to convict the wrong guy. It was a very good documentary, by the same guy who did the academy award winning "Fog of War."

Of course, now that I know I stuck my foot in my mouth with the fact you ARE a police officer, just wanted to make it clear that I have a LOT of respect for the police. I work with police daily, and when I was a witness in a crime yrs ago, the police were awesome.

Actually, now I'm curious about how Psych's depiction of police process fits with your experiences. For instance, my dad always chided poor depictions of guns in movies (like someone shooting a guy with a gun that had the safety on), I can't stand bad medicine on TV, another poster stated that "He Dead" misrepresented aviation, etc and now I find it entertaining to see how experts take Hollywood's depiction of their fields. Is Psych doing an ok job, or do you just suspend your belief now? wink.gif

Oh, sorry, I just wanted to know if TAC has ever kidnapped anyone and taken them to a favorite childhood amusement park to solve a case...but I can totally see how that doesn't apply in this eppy. wink.gif

Aww CRAP! SORRY Bethgreen and everyone! I posted my reply here before I saw your request. Apologies to everyone! I've deleted my reply from this thread and started a new one.

Now, back on topic...

Did anyone else notice in the "High Noonish" preview video on the USA main page that Lassiter is driving a navy (black?) Crown Vic? What happened to the red one? Maybe he was assigned a new car? Or, as I'd like to think, maybe he totaled it in a police chase?

Damn I am SO EXCITED about this episode. I think we're going to get some great back-story and insight into Lassiter's character. As Egorstandish suggested to me the other night, wouldn't it be cool if the traditional flashback at the beginning of the episode was from Lassiter's childhood instead of Shawn's? Now THAT I'd like to see! A refreshing change and twist on the norm for an episode.

Nope! But did anyone else notice in the previews for this episode that Henry is there as well? I don't remember seeing Juliet in the room, but I did see Henry tending to James Brolin's (obvously) injured leg. What the hell is Henry doing there? And what in the world happened to the sheriff's leg? Hmmm, I'll bet you a pineapple the villain used the old "rattlesnake planted in the closed room" trap! At least that's my guess. Anyone else care to speculate?
