Hey everybody!

RabekaJr has graciously allowed us to have a party on the deck of the non-partisan USS Funtasia to celebrate a great CI season 8 and the happy prospect of 17 . . . er, 16 new eps in season 9!

Here are the details:

Monday, August 10
10 PM Eastern
(this will be post-season 8 finale on Sunday the 9th, and immediately after the airing of Lady's Man on NBC on Monday)

I started a new topic for this so we don't clog up the season 8 and season 9 threads. Moderators, please move (or delete) if you want.

I do have some party notes to start, though:
- this is a non-partisan party, therefore non-shippers, fence sitters, shippers, and any other flavor of person, animal, or mythical/imaginary creature may attend
- please bring your ship's LOCI characters
- no public nudity or lewd dance moves allowed, as minors may be present
- there will be a big cake, provided by the Cake Boss. Please do not attempt to "pop out" of the cake.
- there will be plenty of food, include tacos, and strawberries with whipped cream. Please feel free to suggest items for the menu.
- I'm looking for a good bartender to make margheritas and those funky martinis the non-shippers drink--is that Cloggs???
- all may take dance lessons prior to the party, as dancing is good for your soul. I'll be teaching swing/lindy hop/jitterbug stuff because that goes well with the jazz band I hired.

It'll be okay as long as Vincent doesn't show up. If he walked in there, the whole place would melt in less than 2 seconds!

Guess I'm gonna have a huge cup of coffee before going to bed, so that I'll wake up super-early... lol

Love the ice bar (!), but since Bobby (and everyone else from the show) will be there, outerbankschick is right--it might get too slippery to dance before the band even plays one note.

It was actually munch. Munch used to own a bar up in Baltamore when he worked up there, but he sold it since he moved to the city/whatever.

Wheeler will shoot me if something happens to Margot. She won't shoot you--she'll shoot the dingdong (me) who recommended you. But that would be if you didn't do a good job. But you will do a wonderful job. I have utmost faith in you. She'll contact you with Margot's routine.


I'm thinking sober--they need to start cutting people off if things start to get out-of-control, even though that would NEVER happen

I think there should be a drink for each cast member: VDOtini, JGtini, KEtini, CNtini, JNtini, EBtini, JStini etc etc etc...
who'd like to come up with recipes? LOL

I don't know liquor well, but whatever an EamesTini or AlexTini is, is should be very strong but with a touch of sweet.

I think a jeffTini:

#1 Should be served at MY pub because I came up with the idea of a JeffTini (patents pending. )

#1 It should be a little sour, but have some sweetness in it too. And it's main flavor should be Lemon Lime. It'll come in others too, as we devolope this drink, but for now, just a Lemon Lime, flavor.

You'll have to get some of the newer folks like myself up to speed on the clones and pugs thing--I got very very confused very very quickly on that thread. But it looks like if anyone knows a good time when they see it, it's the To Ship or Not To Ship area of the board!

Send everyone over! What do they eat? And can they go get us some strawberries and whippy cream? I have a feeling we'll be going through that pretty fast.

There's a whipped cream FOUNTAIN over on Twilight Island. I'll bet we could get Mikey (that's Mike Logan) and Rey (Rey Curtis, from REALLY long time ago L&O) to bring it over, set it up, and get it loaded......

I LOVE to party, and knowing there will be a Season 9 is good enough for me.

We need to have plenty of tacos, triple chocolate cheesecake, pizza and Tiramisu Martinis. Yes, Cloggs runs the bar; just pop into the Ship or Not to Ship thread and leave her an invite. She'll be here, or else send her very able-bodied bartender extraordinaire octopus in her place. He can fix four drinks at once and flair like it's going out of style!

To our overseas friends who are "time zone challenged" -- usually parties start at a certain time and go until folks get tired of visiting the thread and contributing to the nonsense, so whenever you get a chance to get on line and check out the thread, do so. Comment as much as you like; the rest of us will pop in during the week and continue to comment, and eventually it will 'die' and someone will 'turn out the lights' and the thread will float to the back pages and whither away, leaving only memories in its wake. It's just the way of life around here.

See y'all tomorrow; I'm going to pop in over at the "Revolution" thread and see what everyone thinks about the finale episode of the season.

The Clones and Pugs came into being
when there were "shipping wars." Some
folks were really angry, and extra silliness
was born as a balance. They used to live
on the Ship/No Ship Thread, but that was
even more confusing. Just think of it as
a vacation spot....
Clone Island is really just another name for
Twilight Isle. Chimera will have the clones
haul over the whipped cream fountain ASAP.

The Island kitchens couldn't decide on a
single Eames flavor, so we've sent over several.

Kahlua and Cream with a Praline (Eames Louisiana Russian)
Espresso with a Creme Brulee Sugar Cookie (Steamin' Eames)
