Chapter 1

Olivia Benson and Melinda Warner, stand over the mangled body of Kathleen Stabler.
"God, what happened." Olivia asks Warner. Melinda looks up and Olivia, after covering the body up.
"Whoever did this to Kathleen, did a real number on her. She was raped, and the perp sliced her throat from ear to ear." Melinda tells Olivia. Olivia stands with arms crossed, wondering what she is going to tell her partner Elliot; Kathleen's father. A few minutes later, Elliot Stabler and Fin Tutola pull upon on the scene. Elliot jumps out of the car, and starts running toward Olivia and Melinda. Olivia stops Elliot.
"ELLIOT, NO! It's Kathleen under that cover." Olivia tells him, with tears streaking down her face. Elliot stands looking at the white cover on the ground. His whole world falling down around him.

Back at the 1-6, Don Cragen hangs up the phone slowly, after hearing what just happened to Kathleen. He stands up from his chair, and slowly walks out to where Munch is sitting at his desk. "I just got a call from Fin, they found the body of Kathleen Staber." Don tells Munch, as he tries to get the words out. Munch stands up, and walks towards Don.
"Are they sure it is Kathleen. You know so many young girls out there, that look so much alike." Munch tells Don.
"Yes they are very sure it is Kathleen. A jogger near Central Park, came upon the body,
and called the police." Don tells Munch. Munch silently walks out of the squadroom, heading towards the tombs.

Elliot stands at the bottom step of his home, that he and Kathy share. Tensions ran high in the Stabler home. Kathleen had been diagnosed with Bi-Polar disease. She started out taking her medication, but when he or Kathy were not looking, she would spit out the pills.
Elliot had threatned to have her committed, if she did not start taking her pills. Which brought more strain to the Stabler marriage. Elliot turns towards Olivia, and takes a deep breath.
"God how am I going to tell Kathy that Kathleen is dead?" Elliot tells Olivia, as he slowly puts his hand on the door knob, and slowly starts turning the knob. Olivia comes up to her partner, and puts her arms around him.
"I am here for you, anytime you need me, I am always here for you." She tells him, as he disappears into the house. Elliot sees Kathy standing in the kitchen, looking out the window. He slowly walks towards his wife. Hearing his footsteps, Kathy turns towards Elliot.
"Where the hell have you been." Kathy screams at Elliot. Throwing a plate at him. Elliot moves out of the way of the flying plate, and grabs Kathy by the wrist.
"You were with "her" again, weren't you Elliot?" Kathy screams at him. "Kathy, calm down, yes I was with Olivia tonight. She brought me home, I have something I need to tell you." Elliot tells Kathy, as he struggles to find the right words.
"They found Kathleen's body down in Central Park, this evening." Elliot tells Kathy.
Kathy stands up, and slaps Elliot in the face. "Don't lie to me, just admit you were with Olivia tonight." Kathy seeths at him.
"I'm not lying to you, a jogger found her body. Olivia was the first on the scene." Elliot tells his confused wife. Kathy drops down to knees on the kitchen floor, and starts to scream and shake.
"MY BABY, MY PRECIOUS BABY," as Kathy rocks back and forth on the floor. "OH GOD ELLIOT, what happened?" Kathy demands to know.

Olivia pulls up to the 1-6, and sits in her car, thinking of the past six months. Elliots struggle with his marriage, and the problems with Kathleen. Olivia gets out of her car, and walks up the steps, that lead to the 1-6. When she enters the precinct, she sees Fin sitting at his desk, doing paperwork. Fin stands up, and walks towards Olivia.
"Hey, how are you holding up?" Fin asks her, as he gives her a hug. Olivia sits down at her desk.
"Elliot was in so much pain tonight. Not physical pain, but emotional pain." Olivia tells Fin. She picks up some papers sitting on her desk, and begins to write. A few minutes later, she puts down her pen, stands up, and heads for cribs.
"Please wake me in a couple of hours," she tells Fin. Fin smiles at her.
"Will do," as Olivia makes her way to the cribs. Elliot gets down on the floor with Kathy, he takes her into his arms, and starts rocking her back and forth.
"Warner says that she was brutally raped, and cut from ear to ear," Elliot tells his distraught wife. He reaches into his pocket, and pulls out Kathleen's cross, that she had received at her first communion. Elliot hands it over to Kathy.
"Here Melinda gave this to me, I thought you would like to have it." Elliot tells Kathy.
Kathy takes the necklace from Elliot, and hugs the cross, and she says over and over again "My baby, my precious baby."
