Before answering, I had to go bump up the very first fanfic I ever read....Forbidden Donuts by Patcat. And if Patcat was the author who got me starting reading fanfics, Judyg is the one who got me started writing them. Reading her Haven for a Heart and how others encouraged her to post her story started me thinking maybe I could write out the story that had been in my head for a long time.

So, favorite authors:
Judyg, Flashymom, TCIF, Fussekat, and TrinityWildcat all have series I'm following. Oh, and someone new whose name escapes me...she just posted one yesterday....What Matters Most, I think.

Spookycc--LOVE her "missing scenes".

Patcat is always a favorite, and so is InfinityStar...but I admit I prefer their stories that aren't so shippy (with the exception of Forbidden Donuts!). IS and Squarey are co-writing one called Divided that I really enjoy.

Squarey is one of the all-time best authors. I don't think she has any here, but check her out at ff.net.

Janxangel and Pfchristine are both excellent authors and have written stories with a really different twist. Jcsaves the day is also great, but haven't seen her around lately.

I know I'm forgetting someone. So I'm sure I'll be back with more answers.

Okay, I'm sure I've left many out. If you want just pure smut, read the author superfelix. If you want beyond smut, read the author darkyarns, a little out of left field. But, really, if you just filter the stories on fanfiction.net by either T or M for the rating, and choose my favorite categories of either angst or hurt/comfort, you'll get some pretty good stuff! My faves involve Alex taking care of a depressed Bobby (not depressed for long!) or Bobby and Alex confronting each other after a tense situation (always ends up hot!)

Amorous Intent gets somewhat graphic, so basically choose anything.

There are so many amazing authors, it's hard NOT to miss someone. (ciaddict, thanks for including me in your list - it's good for my self-esteem to be in the company of such talent!)

I would have to agree with ciaddict's list for sure - TCIF, Flashymom, Fussekat, squarey and all the others mentioned. I need to add ciaddict herself. Her Bobby/Annie stories are wonderfully written and take place throughout each season of the series starting with season 1.

spookycc's 'missing scene' fics are a great read as well. She has a definite insight into all the characters, including Captain Ross.

Also, unsteady's Greno the Good series at ff.net is wonderful. I'm still waiting for more installments

Dejablue72 has a wonderful story "Cecelia Rose" that she is posting at the locimoderated board. I'm not sure if it's posted at ff.net, but is definitely worth reading about a young Bobby Goren.

Lozzie posted A Wild Kind of Justice a while back - it's on page 12 here at USA's fic subforum. It's a POV from while Bobby is on suspension and Eames has a 'coffee date'. A truly entertaining read!
