i really like this show as well as everything else that comes on USA...with PSYCH being the ultimate. i have a pet peeve and i wonder if anyone else has noticed?

there are times when i literally have to turn away when watching in plain sight. maybe it's that damn jacket or the fact that she loves putting her hands in her back pockets which arches her shoulders up and foward or maybe she doesn't have a neck or maybe it's poor posture but what is up with mary's shoulders?

it's like they're hunched all the time! i know her character is supposed to be tom-boyish but dayum woman, you're a woman...SHOULDERS BACK! pretend you're elle woods, bend and snap before the camera starts rolling. relax...do a full body shake...try some yoga or pilates. anything that will get you to stop hunching and putting your hands in your pocket during every scene!

Many tall women (McCormack is 5'8") unconsciously hunch to appear shorter. It may the be character's affectation, or the actor's habit. Who knows.

Glad to hear that! Being a short woman myself (5'2"), I always wanted to be tall and statuesque and hated to see taller women hunch to appear shorter. Sad.

She wouldn't be Mary if she were trying to pretend to be Elle woods, would she?

She's great as she is because she doesn't fit the TV stereotype of how women are "supposed" to look.

you're right. women are supposed to resemble quasimodo as much as possible.

"Supposed to"?

Well, at least your first sentence was logical.

The hunching & the slamming-the-hands-on-the-table-while-leaning-over-it thing she does "which she manages to hunch while doing) don't bother me too much, but....................what's up with her upper lip? Did she get an implant? Or is it the way she holds her mouth? I didn't notice it until this season. That's what makes me turn away sometimes. But I still love the show & her.
P.S. Psych is AWESOME. Those 2 have the best chemistry of any other show out there. "Black & Tan" & "American Duos" & "Lights, Camera, Homicido" are my 3 faves.

Can’t say that Mary’s posture (or lack of posture) every bother me. They have profilers at airports whose job it is to “sniff out” potential baddies based in part on body language. Wonder what they would make of Mary if they saw her standing on line to buy a ticket or board a plane?

Never noticed her lips--until someone mentioned them here on the Board. It still took me a few episodes to remember to check them out. But, (now that I am aware of them) they do invade-my-visual-space every now and then while I’m watching the show.

(I’m also a BIG Psych fan. But, I’m one episode behind (Relatives! You can’t shoot'em and you can’t shoot'em)—glad you didn’t say too much, I hate to be spoiled.)
