why in the world does everyone wear long sleeves all the time?

why does mary always wear that ugly leather jacket?

all these desert scenes and no one is ever in a short sleeve tee. right. ok. unbelievable.

Albuquerque is a high desert. Most of the city lies just above 5,000 ft in elevation. So, even though it's sunny most of the year, the average highs in the summer are mid 80s to low 90s with summer nights in the 50's and 60s. The winters are cold with some snow. Average highs 40s and lows 20's. Now, I'm assuming they actually film most of the show *in* Albuquerque, so they'd have to contend with the weather for outdoors.

They do most of the filming between October and April here in Albuquerque. Last winter wasn't as cold as it usually is, but our days can be chilly here as the previous poster noted.

It's incredibly dry so you don't feel the heat. I've been there in the summer and 100 degrees feels like 80.
cubby
80 degrees is 80 degrees. don't know many people who wear leather in 80 degree weather and where i know temps can drop severely at night, most of the scenes are filmed in the daytime.

now if they film during the winter...ok. but to be honest with you, for someone who lives on the east coast, it'd be like watching CSI Miami with periodic scenes of characters carrying umbrellas. accurate but not a good visual.

New Mexico can get chilly, but I think Mary and Marshall often wear jackets for a practical reason -- makes it a lot easier to hide their guns. That way it is a lot easier to not have to constantly announce themselves as US Marshals by their appearance unless they want to. Same reason why plain-clothes police officers (like Bobby D) often wear jackets.
IPS_crazy
In an interview that the cast did in june this year she said that it was so cold one day while shooting that she wore a scuba suit under her clothes. Must have been pretty dang cold for that.

Probably the most reasonable reason that they would. Also, given the elevation, long sleeves year round is not such a bad idea - additional protection from the sun.

You guys are worrying about summer weather when Season 2 was shot in the late fall to mid-spring. The weather rarely gets hot then, and they had snow last winter (remember seeing it in at least one episode?) High desert weather is rarely as hot as low desert (like Palm Springs in CA) and gets darned cold in the winter. Their clothing is appropriate to the weather when they were filming, as the poster said earlier.

stop making excuses. it airs in the summer and therefore they should be dressed appropriately for the season in which the program airs.

let me put it this way, in the month of july, you're not going to see new episodes of any show in which they're celebrating christmas or thanksgiving. you won't see snow in these new episodes either...unless the characters happen to be visiting somewhere that would have snow in july. you're more likely to see cookouts, bbqs and fireworks because hey, it's summer.

so don't fault me because they're giving us winter in summer. she's being wearing that jacket forever. i bet the pits stink.

Well, Cubby, why don't you just sit yourself down, write a letter to the producers and tell them that. I'm sure they weren't aware that they had to organize the show around Cubby's wishes. Meanwhile, kwitcherbitchin' here. No one's making excuses, just trying to explain something to someone who's clearly not listening.

ha! your nick is summer_fun. the irony. the b*tch is in the mirror.

again, when you see christmas episodes air in the summer, talk to me and i'll listen more intently.

Since the episodes air in the summer, there is some rule that the show MUST be taking place in the summer time?

You've made it clear in a number of threads that you don't like the show. You're just looking for things to piss & moan about now. This isn't even a good one.

Watch the name calling.

I never thought about the episodes being set in a specific season. I wore long sleeves all the time when I was in NM and that was during the summer so maybe I'm a freak just like Mary. I think if you want to judge the weather you should try roadtripping out there an experience it yourself, the desert is like no other place...

Of course not. Moreover, given that it is cold, rains and snows during their filming time, and the New Mexico exteriors they use so often reflect the weather, it would look pretty darned silly if they were to try to convince us it was mid-summer. blink.gif

Just remember all...this is not reality TV. It's a show with fictional characters, a fictional storyline and, in some cases, fictional locations. Sit back, enjoy and allow the weather to compliment the show, not detract from it. rolleyes.gif
