Just read the newest entertainment weekly magazine and they gave Psych's 4th season a C! They compared James' jokiness to flop sweat and Gus as "too smart to be hanging around with a doofus like this." Curse you entertainment weekly. Please do yourselves a favor and get someone who actually knows how to write a review.
P.S. If anyone from the show reads this, please make fun of entertainment weekly again. They totally deserve it.

Was the reviewer Ken Tucker? He hates the show with a passion, gave the pilot a C- and will generally find any reason to say nasty things about it.
The man looks like the kind of a person who enjoys stepping on kittens' tails. He probably keeps some around the office for just that purpose.
I'm sure they will make fun of EW again, maybe soon.

What. The. Crap!?!?!?!
(if it is that Ken guy then): Moron he wouldn't know a good show if it came out of his own a** and bit his face off!
^that was the best I could think of.

They already made fun of them last season in 'There Might Be Blood.'
Shawn: "Ahoy Commander, welcome aboard!"
Gus: "Th'ar she blows!"
Shawn: "All hands on deck!"
Commander Dunlap: "Okay, enough the painfully cute mugging to starting to get on my nerves."
Gus: "What are you Entertainment Weekly?"
If I'm not mistaken, that's a quote taken directly from Ken Tucker's review.

*I* don't think this is really spoiler-ish... but putting it under the cut anyways since it has to do with an episode yet to happen...

A review is basically one person's opinion. Unfortunately, this one person has a wide audience.
Oh well, at least it's publicity, and maybe something about the review (like the mention of Dulé Hill's name, for example) will convince someone to tune in and form their own opinion.
There have been entire books written that point out that a negative review does not necessarily reflect majority opinion.
For example, take a look at these:
The Wizard of Oz [1939]
"It has dwarfs, music, Technicolor, freak characters and Judy Garland. It can't be expected to have a sense of humor as well—and as for the light touch of fantasy, it weighs like a pound of fruitcake soaking wet."
-Otis Ferguson, The New Republic
Casablanca [1942]
"The love story that takes us from time to time into the past is horribly wooden and cliches everywhere lower the tension."
-William Whitebait, New Statesman

I don't intend to turn this into a discussion about the latest 'Transformers' movie, but this article written by John Horn of the LA Times is too good not to include:
Director Michael Bay has never been a critics' favorite, but the thrashing he received for “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” was the worst of his eight-film career.
Reviewers ridiculed the new sequel about battling robots as "beyond bad" (Rolling Stone), "bewildering" and "sloppy" (the Village Voice) and "a great grinding garbage disposal of a movie" (The Detroit News).
The early notices were so uniformly disapproving that after Bay's traditional opening-night dinner party at Beverly Hills' Mr. Chow, the 44-year-old director wondered aloud to executives at distributor Paramount Pictures about the possible impact of the drubbing. He needn't have worried: Rarely have critics been more disconnected from what audiences want and love.
Since it arrived early Wednesday just past midnight, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" sold more tickets in its first five days -- an estimated $201.2 million -- than any other movie in Hollywood history except one: last year's "The Dark Knight" (which grossed $203.8 million in its first five days and went on to earn $533.3 million at the domestic box office). By the end of this week, "Transformers" likely will surpass "Up" and "Star Trek" to become this summer's most-attended release.
"I think they reviewed the wrong movie. They just don't understand the movie and its audience. It's silly fun," Bay said over the weekend of the many "Transformers" critical detractors. "I am convinced that they are born with the anti-fun gene.[My favorite quote]
The reviews are just so vicious. A lot of them are more personal than anything else."
Domestic Total Gross as of Jul. 30, 2009: $383,500,991

I know everyone's entitled to their own opinions but you know that something's wrong if you give a show a C- and then everyone else gives it an A. Personally, if theres something that I really like, and someone gives it a bad review, I'm just more motivated to watch it.

Oh yeah! My gosh, with all the spoilers that we have it's hard to keep up with some of them sometimes. At least they're giving it right back.

I laughed so hard about that when I remembered who Ken Tucker is! And I also laughed at this from Ausiello...
I just wanted to say, "Actually..."

I'm so glad Psych is the type of show that can take digs at whoever the people involved want. It makes for thoroughly entertaining viewing!

I can't believe that this guy is saying this!! I always laugh so hard when Psych gets revenge!! I don't understand how people don't like the show?!?! I wonder how Ken Tucker will react when he sees the bad guy he "inspired"

I know I was mad about it too...I read the review, I'll admit I was a little ticked off. I had no idea the history behind this ken tucker guy and Psych, but I guess everyone has their own opinions especially when it comes to TV...heck there are shows that people absolutely love but I don't get at all....but he did seem kinda mean to me, I typed in 'Psych' into EW.com and looked his general review of the show, did you know he called it 'Monk for Morons?' ouch. But the reader's review is an A so that's what important....

I bet Ken Tucker did it just so he'll get spoofed on the show. It'll be like the Mentalist references.

And that's one of the many reasons why I do not buy or subscribe to Entertainment (gossip) Weekly. Nothing personal with the dude, but I just don't get his taste in shows.
And with that, I look forward to Friday!! It's almost here. Now I'm wondering which song will be used for the psych-out (if they do it!).

Hmm... I wonder if there's some way I can let Ken Tucker know that I think he sucks.
Although having a bad dude named Ken Tucker is pure gold

But honestly, most critics are like that. They see a good thing and immediately try to trash it. Which is why I never pay attention to critics.

Wow, that Ken Tucker dude is so lame. But whatever, like he even matters.
However, the critics were right when it came to Transformers 2. Terrible movie.

That's odd. It was short so here's the whole thing:
PSYCH bashed by EW critic Ken Tucker in the What to Watch section. The show is given a C rating, and given about as much grief as can fit in the magazine’s tiny snippets. He even mentions the fact that show gives a little poke at The Mentalist in the season premiere, and laughs off the comparison of the two shows… “As if.”
Well, it’s a show about a person who pretends to be a psychic, but gets all the information simply by being ultra-observant. Said persons are working with the police on cases, but aren’t cops themselves. They’re both rather quick on the witty/snarky conversation, are fairly disinterested in the general rules they’re supposed to be following, and have no problem running a crazy gag to catch the bad guy.
Sure, one’s fairly serious, and the other is practically slapstick, but give me a break.
On the other hand, the same issue of ET also has Mr. Tucker celebrating the awesomeness that is Big Brother, and showing a lot of interest in Jon & Kate.
