Yes, this is a new thread specifically about the streaming ads that show-up in the full episodes of your favorite shows like Burn Notice, etc.
Why is it that the highly compensated marketing brainiacs at USA Network can't figure out how to NOT show the same ad repeatedly in the SAME streaming episode you're watching online?? No one would never tolerate having the same exact TV commercial airing repeatedly during a episode broadcast. So, why have it online? Besides, the fact that this is quite annoying, this gives one a great reason to mute the audio and view something else online while the 30-seconds slowly counts down and the episode continues. In fact, someone may just write a script that bypasses these idiot ads and jumps to the next segment.
If this is an example of an industry best practice with respect to online advertising, then it's no wonder that so many web sites are struggling to maintain whatever advertising revenue they've managed to keep thusfar. If there are any advertisers reading this topic, ask your USA ad rep why your product ad can't be different for each commercial break. As a consumer who gets more and more of my daily media needs online, annoying ads are a great reason to go somewhere else online. And I usually do exactly just that.
