Hello Everyone,

I was really disappointed to read that the Royal Pains season ends at the end of August. Does anyone know why the "seasons" are so short? The show just started and I enjoy watching every Thursday! Just curious!!

Thanks!

for the first season, they only had the pilot eposide and 11 other eposides, so it would of only ran for 3 months, but there is news and in another thread that USA network has already signed for a second season, so the show will be back. smile.gif

also, cable shows are always shorter than network shows. cable (almost) always has 16 episodes. network shows have 22.
while RP had only 12 this season, its because it was the 1st season. it happened for in plain sight and i think burn notice too. next season it will have 16 episodes.

I thought that it was a shorter season at first but as I was watching the latest episode last night, they said that a new one is coming out Thursday!!! So I'm just confused: are they just going to go right into Season 2 or have a break like a lot of the other shows? Oh and for people who were wondering if Tucker will be back, I just saw the ad for Thursdays episode and not only is he in it, but his dad is in it too....just thought I'd point that out....I know it's off topic but it's kind of not either.....

RP Season 1 has 12 episodes this summer 2009, and last night was epi 9 so you've got a few epis left to go this summer smile.gif

RP has been renewed for a 2nd season, starting in 2010, so there will be a break between S1 & S2 since I'm not sure what month they start up again in 2010. For the USA Network, most new series only run 12 episodes their 1st year, then they get bumped up to 16 episodes if they get a 2nd season, so I'm guessing the 2nd season of RP might be split into 2, since the USA Network splits some of their seasons up, with half the season airing in summer, the rest in winter, like Burn Notice, Psych, Monk, etc.

That's what I thought...I thought Royal Pains started around the same time as BN and BN just had their summer finale so when I heard that Royal Pains was coming out with a new episode last night I was like "what the heck?"

Do you know when it will return for the second season. I found the show refreshing after all the old episodes of "House"

the 2nd season of royal pains will most likely be in june again, since its a summer show. but when it comes back it is possible that it will be split into 2 halves so the 1st half would be june-august and the second would be january-march or something.

it could also run like In Plain Sight does though and air all 16 episodes at once.

we really won't know for sure until sometime next year.

The ads for Burn Notice says that there'll be new episodes this winter. How far ahead was Burn Notice before Royle Pains started?

It looks as if there will be 2 more New episodes to come this season, also it is like they are following the season in the Hampton's so as long as they is a next season I'll be OK with this. smile.gif
