Monk finally finds Trudy's killer and when he is arrested, Trudy will come out of the witness protection program and return to Monk.

But how can Monk find Trudy's killer then find Trudy? In other words, if she's alive, then there is no killer.

We'll find out that...

Mr. Simon = Submarine
Trudy gave Monk the charred piece of paper that he now has in his possession...when they held hands just before she died.
530 Kelly Street may be an actual address

Spoiler:
I skipped ahead on my FiOS on my TV to read the info on Mr. Monk and the End, Part 1. Apparently Monk gets called to a crime scene in the exact location as Trudy's murder. Here's the exact info according to FiOS:

"After years of inner-turmoil, Monk finds himself called to a crime at the same location where he first heard the news that his wife had been murdered and embarks on the most important investigation that he's ever been involved in."

I think we all expected the last part of the description, but it sounds interesting. Thoughts?

My only thought is what is so special about the location that another crime happens at exactly the same spot years later.
Teresa1643
The description says he's in the location where he first heard the news. He's not at the location where Trudy was murdered. That was the parking garage that's now been torn down. Probably something at the location where he heard the news triggers a memory.

Okay, in my opinion, the following people can be crossed off the list of suspects for the murder of Trudy:

Monk
Natalie
Sharona
Stottlemeyer
Disher
Ambrose
Dale the Whale (He definitely KNOWS who did it, though...but I don't think he was involved)

Ambrose is more interesting, though...I really don't think he did it, but I'm going to put my theory in spoiler tags in case some people here haven't read the other threads:

Spoiler:
According to some of those script sides from The End, part 1, Ambrose is in the hospital poisoned...I don't think he murdered Trudy, but I do think there is a significant reason why she was going to get him some medicine that fateful day. I think the killer somehow used Ambrose without his knowledge, and if Ambrose starts to catch on, the killer needs to get rid of Ambrose. I think Ambrose is going to be murdered, and that will be the trigger for Monk finally being able to solve Trudy's murder...he can solve his brother's murder and his wife's murder in one fell swoop. Somehow, Ambrose's death is going to bring this mysterious niece Molly into the picture...she's somehow related via the Monk side, but I'm not totally sure how. This finally gives Monk some family to cling to, because even though his brother is now gone, Molly will somehow represent his legacy. This is a lot of maybes, but I think somehow that is how it will all be connected.

I do think Albright's return somehow has something to do with Mitch...I honestly don't see the writers bringing him back just to get together with Natalie. I do think that Natalie and Monk will end up together, but even if it's not admittedly out in the open by the end of the finale, I think the POSSIBILITY will still linger at the end so fans can make a decision on their own about whether Monk and Natalie get involved romantically off-screen in the future.

To this list, I think it is also safe to cross off Trudy's parents (who clearly would never hurt her over anything), Jack Sr. (who clearly didn't know she existed until that fateful Christmas 3 years ago), and Karen (for reasons explained on other threads). Anyone else remains fair game till the moment of the revelation; although he's since been diminished a little, Harold does remain a peripheral possibility, especially since we really don't know the man's backstory all that well yet, and it's not completely out of the realm of possibility they might pull Linda Fusco back out of prison to put the onus on her; she has, after all, shown herself capable of such a dastardly deed, and her revelation as The Ultimate Bad Guy would likely be an acceptable one for this community compared to other floated possibilities.

I must ask, do we have absolute confirmation Ambrose will be in this one, if not seen on camera? It's possible this could be a misdirection by the staff to make us even more off kilter for when the time comes.

My guess is that Ambrose is not in 'The End'.

Spoiler:
Either (a) he never was intended to be, and the audition "sides" were deliberately misleading; or (cool.gif he was intended to be in the episode, but Turturro was unavailable. In either case, based on the TV Guide story, it seems as if Monk is the one told that he has three days to live, not Ambrose.

Thinking my previous post through further: If (a) is true that probably also means that
Spoiler:

the other audition "side" we read about for "Molly" is also deliberately misleading. Molly may not be a niece at all, but a new love interest for Monk, or at least something other than a "niece".

We know that Trudy was an investigative reporter for a San Francisco News Paper . I believe that trudy discovered the identity of the Zodiac killer (a prolific serial killer from the San Francisco area in the 1970's that was never caught or identified ) I believe she found out that Monk's father was the Zodiac killer ,and Monk's father killed her to keep his identity hidden

Wow....

Think dream. In the end Stottlemeyer will be accused and then Monk will wake up. The whole thing has been a dream as Officer Monk worries about his job. His partner, Stottlemeyer, picks him up in the squad car. Trudy kisses him goodbuy, and a pretty young neighbor (Natalie) is out picking up the morning newspaper. I know this is not the way it will end, but how else can they take such a fun show and end it with such a downer -- whomever the killer is?
