Now this is a rumor I heard around Twitter, MySpace, and YouTube (I don't know if this is the place to say this, maybe the original L&O's message board) but I heard that (quote) "Law & Order (plus; Special Victims Unit, Criminal Intent, Trial by Jury, UK, and etc.) creator Dick Wolf is thinking of creating another Law & Order project called "Law & Order: Los Angeles" Based on a crime unit in the Los Angeles (and around), California area." (end quote) A Law & Order in Los Angeles? Hmm not a bad idea to me, I mean we have plenty of L&O versions around New York City. Why not give us an L&O near Los Angeles. I hope Dick Wolf goes foward with the idea, ANOTHER NEW L&O Spinoff, that'll be tight! (lol) Do it Dick Wolf!

What do you guys think I say 'GO'! WHOO!

I googled this in all different variations and there is nothing on the net that I could find about this rumor, so I am not sure it is true.

But if Dick Wolf wants to create another Law and Order type show he should bring back Conviction, or make a show that is equally like it where we can actually get inside the character's heads and lives and see a little of who they are outside of their jobs.

I wouldn't mind L&O: LA, but I can't see it doing well. We already have one: Southland (which I've never seen) and I could see viewers get a little bored and/or being uninterested with LOLA. If DW wanted to pitch this idea *if this rumor is indeed true*, I would be pretty sure NBC would shoot it down. If Southland wasn't on/around, I'd say it'd work, but does NBC need another LA-based cop show? Just my 2 cents. smile.gif

The Closer, while not an NBC show, is also set in Los Angeles. I've never seen Southland, but The Closer tends to rip from local news once in awhile. The current season's opener, for example, is a riff on the Christmas murder in Covina (a city in LA County), among others.

I don't care if it's based in Los Angeles or Louisiana, I wish network producers would come up with a non-procedural show that isn't a sitcom instead. It's getting old and predictable.

Southland is SVU, in LA. Why would they do something like that. Hopefully it's a a rumor.
