For the past couple of days I haven't been getting the usual e-mail notifications of topics, and when I went to check the settings, the page redirected to "account settings", which asks for your e-mail address, password, gender, country and zip code (among other things). Also, none of the links on the page work. I know that before a couple of days ago I was able to edit my e-mail settings, I had recently changed a topic notification from delayed to immediate. The same thing has also been happening when I try to edit profile information (which I assume is Location, interests, etc) - all I get is the "account settings" page. I tried accessing the forum through Internet Explorer and Firefox, but the same problem occurs. Has anyone else had the same problem?

Just when you post on those topics... Check "enable email notification of replies"

I'm not very tech-saavy, but I've been poking around and testing out different buttons and links on the Board this weekend. Instead of My Controls, you might try Clicking on "Members" at the very top of the page (above your log-in name). Find your profile, and click on it; there are some buttons on there that might/or might not allow access to what you want. Like I say, this is just an idea (brainstorming)/a different way in; it may not work.

Incidently, for anyone who has trouble with color changes on pictures; you're not alone, I don't do pictures or graphics, just text, in posts; and, they seem ok on the word processing screen, but they come out in two or three different shades/colors on the Board. It's not a new problem, it's been happening to me for several months. (Note: the quote in this post should be all black; my part should be a definite blue color, not that navy/greyish blue that frequently shows up in my posts)

THIS IS A TUTORIAL ON HOW YOU CHANGE YOUR USER NAME.

READ THIS BEFORE GOING ON:
If you are planning on changing your username, let the admin know first, espcially if it's going to be a drastic change. We don't want to think you would be a sockpuppet.

What you'll need:

1. Two email addresses (the one you use now, and another one that doesn't have a USA network forums accont on it)
2. Your USAnetwork forums account

Okay click any of the opitions in the last part in the sidebar. So basiclaly under options in the side bar. (I just click "Change email address" but it doesn't really matter which on you pick)

You will be redirected here:

So basically where it says email (your current email is) change it to whatever second email you're going to use:

So my email WAS mgg_14@live.com (i hate when i type love instead of live) and then i deleted that, and put in:
xavierwebsites@gmail.com

and place your second email in the confrim email box also.

Then enter your password, confrim it.

Then click submit.

Now sign up for a new USA network forums account... Use the email you orignally used (in my case: mgg_14@Live.com)

enter the name you'd like to use (make sure it's not alreay taken)

Then go get your confirmation email, and activate your account.

Wa-la!

You have the same account, just under a different user name.

I have a question...is it just me, or does everyone see that I'm logged in at all times?..I cant seem to log off...the forum wont let me.lol...As soon as I click on the usa forums thing it shows I'm online..still...so I guess I cant lurk...or I'm constantly lurking? I dunno? I've tried restarting my pc, and erasing all my passwords and cookies and stuff by to no avail...humm...Any suggestions?

I've been experiencing the same thing for the past 3 days. I always seem to be logged in, lol, even if I erase the cookies etc... or shut my computer, turn it on again and go to the forum page... yep, I'm still logged in, lol...

Yeah, that started yesterday. I'm having the same uh, problem, in the sense that it looks like I'm constantly on and potentially posting when really I just want to read and think and commiserate and cry and scream. Looks like they're tracking cookies, so once you logged in to post, you're always logged in unless you clean out the cookies.

I know you said you tried that, but I just decided to "lurk" using Mozilla (and I am usually in IE), and I'm not logged in using the Mozilla browser. Try a different browser--maybe that will woek? Lemme know--I'm interested in what happens.

I'm on a Mac, using Safari... and always logged in.
I'll have to check if I have the same problem on Firefox or IE...

I tried lurking using Mozilla, a browser under which I have never logged into USA boards before. therefore, no cookies, therefore no login.

well, I think its fixed, I did the tracking cookies thing, ran my norton and restarted ..and ity worked...thanks ladies!.. Now I can lurk in private like I'm use to...heh heh..

um . . . I think you're giong to have to keep continually deleting those cookies every time you want to log out. So log in, post, delete cookies, commence lurking.

Or you can use 2 different browsers (IE and Safari, Safari and mozilla, whatever) and have one be your lurker browser and one be your posting browser. Then open whichever you want depending on what you want to do. PIDA.

Ok what's up, I got signed out of Jryan, so I tried to log in, it said my password was wrong, so I requested a new password, then it said I was signed in as Jryan well ok, but then it asked Me where I wanted to go, Forums and two other places, so I clicked on Forum, now it says I am signed in as Jryan, but then it ask me to log in again, but when I do it just keeps coming back to the sign in page even though I am signed in, with no explaination. So I am forced to go back using Jryan62.

Must be a problem with the temporary password system, I deleted all my cookies then tried again with my original password that didn't work in the first place and now I am back to normal, (AbbyNormal) lol.

OMG that kept happening to me today!! I just switched from (superior) Mozzila Firefox to (Crappy) IE.

That did the trick.

So how did you get back onto your account...?

Hi, I'm still around, but busy in rl lately.

For months, I've had sign-in problems similar to jryan and once I get in, the system doesn't want to let me sign-out. I've learned to be patient and try several times.

Come now! Does any fan of LOCI and/or any person who has been posting on this board for more than a week or two really expect things to go smoothly?? We board veteran's know that "upgrade" can mean "downgrade" so isn't it logical to believe that "sign-in" can mean "sign-out," or the reverse; and maybe even "season premiere" can mean "season end."
