I started band in 6th grade and choir in 7th, and was in both up until I graduated my senior year. I played clarinet too, and also was in colorguard during marching band.
As for not being on during the day, I have school. Plus my husband is a police officer and the police department has a firework stand every year. The money they make off of it goes towards scholorships for area HS seniors. So when I get out of school, I go down there to help out until....well...about now. It hasn't been too bad, but since the fourth is just around the corner we will be getting busier.
We will close the stand 4th of July at midnight and I may not get home until 4am. But it's all fun and for a good cause.

No, but I don't find meetings very productive either. Maybe 'cuze they typically put me to sleep - well sleep can be productive...
It's a bunch of little things, gotta get this done, but before it can be done this has to be done, ... and so on. I swear I need a secretary! Right now I have a stack about a foot high of stuff that needs to be filed. But since there aren't folders already made up for them that has to be done first. But before I can do that I have to find the hanging folder things. And about the same time I have to set up another file drawer. But before I can do that I have to find a place to put the junque that's in that drawer now. Putting CDs and DVDs in each of these folders also takes up a bunch of room so sometime in the very very near future I have to make a cabinet to store just the CDs and DVDs. But before I can do that ... And here we go again!

A good productive day! Started it off early with a power failure, a good kick in the backside to get me to move the generator and hook it up. Done.. just as the power came back! Got the hottub laid down and in position to be hooked up. My oldest brought his boat over and we got it running right. Wife grilled up some steaks after we finished with the boat. And I completely forgot about the NCIS marathon that was on! Nothing on tv today, maybe I'll throw in the S5 DVDs although Deep Tracks is playing some really good tunes today, may be a good day to listen to music.

OK, best forth of july ever!!!
we went to a party and it got rained out where we were, so we went back home which is further south, so it wasn't raining. my dad told me and my sister to get in the old white truck we have, which is odd, cause we don't use that one anymore.
he drove out to a deserted construction site with paved roads
he told me to get out of the car, and he gave me the keys!!!
so i got in the front seat of the truck and he told me to get buckled and put my foot on the breaks and put it into drive
the rest you can guess, lets just say, i'm still alive, and so is the truck ps i'm only 14

The 4th is over--back to normality!!
We were busy yesterday. Despite the downpour, and the rush to get the sides down the tent, people were still coming up. I wasn't complaining because it meant more money, but I surely wouldn't have got out in the mess to buy fireworks. But then I was in the mess selling them. LOL
I think most of the big downtown displays were cancelled. We live in the country so on the way home we could still see a few ariels (artillery) being shot up in the sky. They weren't as big as they could have been, but still pretty.
I think the rain stopped around 10 or 11 and then all the popping began again. LOL
Very cool about the driving!
Hope everyone has a great evening. We're off to dinner to celebrate another week of success!

Soooooo...
Me, my hubby and a couple girls we know (his friends daughters) took them to see David Archuleta and Demi Lovato. They are 13 and 14. When the concert started, and an all girl band that goes by the name KSM opened, and they weren't bad.
Then David came out and.....OMG! You guys have to hear him in concert. He sounds just as amazing live as he does on track. Actually, I would say he sounds BETTER live. I just absolutley love his voice!
Then Demi Lovato came out, and I was shocked. I wasn't expecting much out of her, but she put on a really good show. I was impressed. She sounded great. Some of her songs her voice was too high so you couldn't understand what she was saying (I guess it's that teenager voice), but overall she was good.
About 15 minutes before the show ended, the girls and I went to take a bathroom break and saw a line forming. We asked what was going on, and the first group, KSM, was holding a meet and greet. So we got in line and HELD IT. LOL So we got a free autographed CD (yes, real autograph the ink was smudging-LOL) and got to have our picture taken with them.
Overall, it was fun. I wish David would headline his own tour again. I had no idea he had already done this, and I missed it.
