just tryin to figure out what you could take. End result, you're alot more fun than I originally anticipated. What you don't see is that none of the over 30 crowd here are sure how any of you are going to react at any given time. So no matter what any of us are saying, we're all paying attention. I continuously remain cautious 'cuze I know how my daughter will react at times, and she's 20 (and ever the drama queen).

So that's going to be your excuse for me?

My first day is tomorrow. I'm scared,excited,nervous,and mad.

Mad cause,well,the usual. No one wants school to start.

The good thing is we get to go on a lot of feild trips this year.

First day of school went GREAT! All the nerves for nothing (well...I start voice next week--eeeeek).

I guess the highlight of the day was watching two college professors nearly duke it out. Argueing over who was getting to use the room for their class, because the school messed up and scheduled the two classes in the same room...same hour. All of us were sitting there like...WHOA! The two professors got loud at one time!!

So we sit there, all was quite, till the one who lost POPS back in and starts arguing with the department head (yes it was his room--he won) over having the room again! We were all trying not to laugh. He just wouldn't give up! LOL

Ballet I don't think will be as bad as I thought. There's people a lot bigger than me in there...AND GUYS! I was impressed!

I hope tomorrow I have just as good of a day. But I do know this...I'm sore!! I don't think I've ever climbed so many stairs in my life! But it makes for a great workout!! LOL

A couple days ago i had to go downstairs to get my mom a drink out of the refridgerator because she didn't want to walk down the stairs, lol.

I don't mind the stairs. Anything for a workout, that keeps me off the boring elliptical. LOL I was running bleachers before summer got here, so the stairs aren't really that bad. I was sore last night, but this morning I'm gearing to go again. All soreness gone!!

Today wasn't as bad as I thought it would be(first day today). My teacher is really nice. I'm in the advanced math class(no surprise) the bad thing is,my best friend is in the other class and she's not in the advanced math class.

I'm sorry. It really sucks when your best friend isn't in the same class.

Only a couple. The people that I sit by,are like the people who always make me laugh. Which in this case is bad.

Same here. I only have one class with the best of my friends. But there is this one boy in about all my classes and he is hilarious. I think I'm gonna fail because of him. :o

School was boring today. Finished my morning classes then had 4 hours of NOTHING until choir late this afternoon! Another day tomorrow.

On a more exciting note. I had my hair done again. I didn't like the blonde. So I had it covered with red. I like it A LOT better!! Although, the first application turned my hair this bright @ss orange! So we had to tone it wayyyyyyyyyyy down, but it looks good! So while I was there, a disgruntled customer called the cops because she didn't like her hair cut. It was the funniest thing I'd ever seen (besides my orange hair).

Today is my friend's birthday. Her name is Jillian Bailey Naber. I'm sad because on March 15 2009 she hung herself because she was being bullied and she had family problems. We were so close and I didn't even see that coming.

Is that Jill in your avatar? She looked like a really fun and fun loving gal (I checked out the videos). It's so sad to hear that she took her own life. Y'know it almost seems like this is something that's just been happening in the last dozen or so years but it's not. A zillion or so years ago when I was in my late teens a good friend's wife (yeah, he was my age - late teens) decided she wanted a divorce. He put a shotgun in his mouth. I still think about him alot. Wish I had the chance to talk to him and maybe talk him outta doing it. Kids, young adults and even adults need to know that no matter how bad things get, it's never bad enough to end it. They need to realize that someone needs them. So sorry to hear about Jill, Little O, but do know that she will always be in your thoughts no matter how much time passes, and now, she will also be in mine and many other's thanks to your sharing.

No, that's my friend Atumn in my avatar but thanks for your nice words and I'm sorry about your loss. I totally agree with you. People shouldn't take their own lives no matter how hard things get.

Teachers aren't there to make you bored. They are there to help you learn. If it's boring, then it's the subject. There are just certain subjects that aren't your cup of tea. Like math for example, hated it and still do! LOL

I am going to college to be a Music teacher. Though at the moment I'm REALLY asking myself why music. The homework is kicking my arse....and so is ballet (though that's theatre not music).

Sorry to hear about your friend Olivia. Bullying is such a big deal in schools, I wish officials would take it more seriously. My husband is an SRO (school resource officer--a/k/a cop at school) and he doesn't put up with kids being bullied.

You will be thankful for advanced math when you're in college algebra. LOL

There are many boring teachers. My kids have had teachers that were so preoccupied with slower students the others were not only bored they got nothing out of the class. My oldest got into college and had to retake most of the math classes he took in high school for that same reason.

That may be true (especially some of the older teachers...and I don't mean neccisarily older in age), but it's not like they went to college and said....HEY! I'm going to be a boring teacher when I graduate.

I think it comes with teaching the same subject over and over. Atleast with music (or theatre)....the material is the same, but you're always doing something different. I couldn't be a general ed teacher. I'd bore myself to sleep.

Olivia - So, sorry to hear about your friend, Jillian. I think it is wonderful that you made the videos, you are so caring. She will live on in your heart and as another poster said, Now, we will remember her. Thanks for sharing and I do know how hard it is and yes, one never forgets those we love and wish we could have done more to keep them from harming themselves.
I've learned that truly, Tomorrow is another day and what may have seem impassable can look better when tomorrow becomes today.
One never knows what wonders are lurking around the corner, so stay here and find out! For me, I've also felt better about myself when I've weathered the Storm and came out with a smile.

I'm with Stew. Teachers aren't there to make the subject boring. Math wasn't my subject either but I had wonderful teachers who showed us how we would use this math knowledge in the Real World. This helped all the students realize, it would be to our advantage to listen and try to understand, as much as, we could. Smart teachers, IMHO! LOL
And, just because a teacher may be boring (I've had my share, even in subjects that I liked) that doesn't mean that I can sit and doodle in the class. I listened, OK - maybe I doodled a little - LOL - but I still studied the subject. This was MY TIME and never in my life will I have so many hours to devote solely to learning. I will do the best I can with a teacher that doesn't hold my interest because I will NOT let anyone take away my right to learn or allow myself to "blame" the teacher. I did much better with teachers that held my interest, inspired me and were understanding how to reach their students but that didn't prevent me from learning with the apathetic teacher or just a teacher that couldn't connect.

Olivia-I think I already said this, but I'm sorry about your friend. It's terrible what kids do to other kids....and to feel they have no other way.
