Marshall already knows that Stan and Eleanor are "involved". What do you think Mary's reaction will be when she finds out (and she will) that Stan and Eleanor are "an item"?
I know Mary is starting to grudgingly warm up to her. She has qualities that Mary seems to appreciate—breaking through red-tape, or bullying folks to get things done, standing up to her and giving as good as she gets, and especially the way she jumped right in to help with the Brandi incident.
Still, I think Mary has some lingering reservations about who Eleanor really is and why she is there. Plus, Mary has always been able to "work her way around Stan" to get what she wants. The Eleanor-Stan relationship is a new wrinkle. Will Mary be slapping Eleanor a "high five" or trying to arm-wrestle her to the floor?

Marshall definitely suspects something is going on, but I don't know if he realizes exactly what's going on (looks like this Sunday's episode might fill us in on that one). Mary is a little too self-involved most of the time to see it for herself, but I think she'll eventually figure it out, even if Marshall has to spell it out for her.
How will she react? I'm not sure. I want to say that she would tease both Stan and Eleanor about it, but I don't know if maybe she and Marshall will at least initially act like they don't know and be all whispery-office gossip about it. In the end, I think she would slowly accept the idea the way she is slowly accepting Eleanor. I don't think she'll ever stop snarking on Eleanor or will stop giving her a hard time, but Eleanor knows how to give it right back to her.

This is the third time I've tried to reply to this topic. For some reason, my posts are not being posted.
Anyway, Eleanor has quickly become my second favorite character after Mary. I love their banter and the fact that they are grudgingly beginning to respect each other. I really love the Stan/Eleanor relationship. I hope the writers continue it and don't make them "just friends." It would be great to watch as Eleanor slowly begin to get on with her life after her husband's death and to make that life with Stan.
I was surprised that One Night Stan was their first encounter. Because they were so comfortable with each other in Stan's bedroom, I assumed we were coming in in the middle of the relationship, not the beginning.
As for the initial question on this post, I think Mary will grow to accept their relationship, as she is growing to accept Eleanor. Of course, she'll continue to give them a hard time, because she wouldn't be Mary if she didn't.
Now, my question is, in One Night Stan, did Stan know Eleanor was going to come over when he rejected Mary's invitation to eat? How did that whole evening transpire?

Actually, it's Holly Maples, wife of the creator.

Sorry, just nit-picking -- yes, on imdb, Holly Maples has been on a number of TV shows, but NOT as a recurring character -- just for one or two episodes. But I'm glad she has a continuing role in "In Plain Sight", even if she got it by being the wife of the creator*, because she is a good sparring partner for Mary. At first, because she was overly organized and antagonistic to Mary in a passive-aggressive way, I did not like her -- but she has grown on me, as she seems to slowly be growing on Mary.
* A little nepotism is OK, as long as you keep it in the family.
