In the "Duplicate Bridge" episode, who was the jazz musician whose album was on Norman's turntable and song played at the end? Tried to see if it was listed in the credits but it wasn't. Please advise as I would really like to find that album.

thanks for the music list! the featured piece in this week's episode, on norman's turntable, was indeed count basie's "l'il darlin.'" huge hit for him. order a count basie cd with that tune on it online at any of your favorite sites for music... amazon, tower, etc. he was high end jazz, so there will be many tunes you don't know, and not at all in that mellow style. but "count basie's finest hour" is a good mix.

i just researched the song and learned why it has such a distinctive sound. from wikipedia: "In 1954, the band made its first European tour. Jazz was especially strong in France, Holland, and Germany in the 1950’s; These countries were the stomping grounds for many ex-patriate jazz stars who were either resurrecting their careers or sitting out the years of racial divide in the United States. Neal Hefti began to provide arrangements, notably "Li’l Darlin’". By the mid-1950s, Basie's band had become one of the pre-eminent backing big bands for some of the most prominent jazz vocalists of the time. They also toured with the “Birdland Stars of 1955”, whose lineup included Sarah Vaughan, Erroll Garner, Lester Young, George Shearing, and Stan Getz." it's neal hefti that "l'il darlin'" sounds like, and there are one or two other songs on that album that use the same style. very relaxing.

Does anyone know the name of the song at the end of "Jailbait"?
It's during the scene where Mary searches for the ring & agrees to get engaged.

Thanks

Do you happen to know the name of the song that was played in tonight's episode while Mary and Marshall were both on hold? Mary said it was from a musical she was in in high school.

What is the song that was playing in the background of the diner scene in "Let's Get it Ahn"? It has the lyrics "You came upon me like a bolt of lightning".

I knew I'd heard it before but it had been MANY years, I thought it was from about 1970, turned out I was right; what a beautiful song.

Hi,

Does anyone know what song was playing during the episode, when Mary and Francesca were in the mansion, out back having a drink... it was kind of a lounge/chill/smooth jazz song and the only lyrics I seemed to have caught were "you are my dream"... but can't find it anywhere...

Help! smile.gif
