Can't wait for Gertrude's spoiler!!! Hmmm... maybe it isn't a job or undercover thing so much as a personality change? Maybe Dr Bell helps him have a major breakthrough or he takes some kind of medication again like in "Mr. Monk takes His Medicine"? I guess we'll find out!

Just saw again that episode this morning. Monk was funny onstage. I'd like to see an occupation where he's out of his element like a stock car driver, something like that.

Raven01
This sounds like it could be a really unusual episode. It makes me think of amnesia but I don't think the writers would do that again. How could he be someone else? Undercover or something...?

Maybe it's going to be like Mr. Monk joins a cult but this time someone...really bad would get Monk to do whatever he wants... and/or is going to threaten him with something... like it was in Mr. Monk meets the Playboy...
It might be something different...Monk can turn into a bad person because he might be tired of catching one criminal when other 10 gets on to street...so this may get him angry... or completely something else is going to happen...what? I don't know...I, too am waiting for Gertrude's spoiler...

Thanks from me, too. I am racking my brain but can't think of a scenario that would work. Hope we get a spoiler soon. My new resolution: read all the spoilers I can!

Not me, I avoid all spoilers. I like to know as little as possible about the episode before the show airs, I love to have it all new!

Unless he's going undercover as someone else for the case in question, perhaps even for Trudy's case.

Spoiler:
Yes, he's going undercover as a mob hitman! I don't think it has anything to do with Trudy.
jo43
I was thinking maybe the delivery guy delivers something to Monk and the "bad guys" are watching so they think he's "someone else" and so they're after Monk as someone else etc. etc. but than I read the spoiler!! I think this last season just may be the best so far!!
LovAdrian
Apparently that's another non-Trudy episode. I wonder if they'll dedicate only two or three of them to develop Trudy's case solution. If so, it'll be a little strange because when it comes to this issue, the series always become more dramatic (and it's expected to be like that) than funny, and as the final season, Trudy's case should be the main point of most of the episodes. I hope the writers come back to the atmosphere of the first season when they develop those episodes...

Spoiler:
Agent Stone, veteran FBI agent, he's at HQ, wants to talk to the gang, especially Monk, he's part of a division in the Bureu called Team Alpha. Their job is to identify and track high priority targets; dangerous individuals.

For the past few months they've been following a man, Frank DePalma. The best contract assassin...

DePalma was killed by a bus the previous day. They hushed it up. Called him a John Doe...

DePalma is a dead ringer for Monk. His doppelganger...

They want Monk to go undercover as DePalma in LA.

Stottlemeyer is quite against this...

Stone tells Monk the FBI director is aware that Monk wants to be reinstated, so he would personally intervene on his behalf...

So of course Monk goes undercover...

Hello.

Do you know how many episodes have been announced for the final season? Are we close to the last one, I wonder?

KF

The final season will have 16 episodes. So far we know about eight episodes that have been produced or are in production or pre-production.

Mr. Monk's Favorite Show
Mr. Monk and the Critic
Mr. Monk and the Voo Doo Curse
Mr. Monk Takes the Stand
Mr. Monk and the U.F.O.
Mr. Monk Goes Camping
Mr. Monk and the Foreign Man
Mr. Monk is Someone Else

That leaves eight more to go for season eight.
micheleNasser
Hmmmm... I saw this FBI & reinstating thing before....Hope Monk doesn't get dissapointed again.

Sounds interesting...I don't want to see Monk disappointed and hurt again.
_Amethyst_
I concur --- Monk needs good news, not more bad smile.gif I wonder (as I am sure others do) if he'll get reinstated by the end of season 8 ? I don't think they could "fit" it in smoothly, but maybe . . . juuuust maybe! smile.gif

Cool! Thanks, Alex.

I think that in the first two pictures, those are from the teaser or the first few minutes of the show and Tony is playing the real hit man, not Adrian pretending to be the hit man, yet. He looks too at ease and comfortable being that close to a woman, smoking a cigar, and touching the other guy's chest. In the third one, obviously he's playing Adrian, but it's a good comparison. As Adrian you can see his face is tense, his eyebrows are drawn down and in toward each other slightly, denoting that he's thinking and he's bothered by something, and the lines around his eyes. forehead and mouth are more pronounced. In the first two photos you don't see that.

Also, in the third photo, his shoulders are held different, a little higher and more straight across, and his arms pulled in a bit closer. In the second it's easier to see that his shoulders aren't pulled up quite as high, and in both the first and second, his arms and shoulders are just held looser in general, more relaxed. His arms look like they could swing a little bit in their sockets rather than being held rigidly still. And he's holding his spine a bit straighter in the third photo.

Anyway, that's my guess. I could be wrong, he could actually be playing Adrian playing a hit man and playing it like Adrian is just really, really good at it.

BTW, that pinstripe suit looks good on him. smile.gif

I can't wait to see this episode!! Even in the pictures he is so desirable! I become infatuated with him when he is in a sexy role! love Tony! wub.gif

Saw the promo. There's a clip with Harold trying to get Monk's attention, calling his name and he says, "Do I look like an Adrian?" Or was that the real hit man? If not, good excuse for Adrian to ignore him. This will be interesting, and it could also get confusing.

I didn't find the episode very realistic -- maybe Monk could have slipped into that role after lots and LOTS of practice, but not that easily! -- but I still liked it. Tony did such a good job as the hit man that I couldn't help liking it. The voice and the mannerisms were perfect, and the part where he scared the guy to death by straightening his tie was a hoot!

I have a feeling this might have been a bit of an indulgent role for Tony by the way he performed it so fabulously.
alex455
This episode was great.
The first scene I was like...damn that must have hurt when the bus hit him...but I knew already it's Depalma...and later it started to get better and better. The opening scene after intro - Natalie's crying, I was like...ok but again when it supposed not be in papers? She is reading a book. A very sad one if she's crying over it. (I'll need to read it wink.gif ).. when Monk started to talk about his girlfriend I thought he may say his girlfriend is Trudy but no, he said Natalie...and later when that Depalma's girlfriend kissed Monk... I was like... No way ..
The scene with Harold is awesome. For the first time he was against Harold, Monk could easly scare him..as Frank Depalma. And when Monk just like told off those people looking at him... great...
When Monk didn't even flinch when Stottlemeyer stood in front of him in my mind crossed a thought if he's going to hit him when he thinks he's Depalma...but he didn't...and that's good...
The last scene is really cool.
I'll definitely watch this episode again smile.gif

Just finished watching Mr. Monk is Someone Else...well kind of. Unfortunately, for a lot of the episode my cable wasn't working up to it's full capacity. I could see and hear most of it, but some of the episode was pixilated to varying degrees and the sound cut out a few times. I plan to have watch it again, but I think I got the story down.

I enjoyed the episode. It didn't have a full fledged mystery in it. It was, as MsNatalieMonk stated, an indulgent role for Mr. Shalhoub. In fact, my feeling has been that so far this season, it's been Shalhoubville to the determent of the other three actors on the show...which is why Mr. Shalhoub seems to end up with all the awards nods - and not the other three considerably talented cast members. But if the others are okay with it, who am I to complain. At least Ted and Jason have more of a role than last week.

Tony playing Monk playing another role. Been there, done that. He's a great actor and can pull it off. No surprises there.

I know it's gonna be shouted from the rooftops....Monk's "girlfriend" Natalie Teegerb...okay. All the Shippers can squee now. And the Stotts/Monk shippers get a little squee time as well. Fine Romance, indeed. And NATALIE picked out the card. Hmmm. I don't go for the whole shipper thing, but what can I say. I have to say the card thing was the only thing in the ep that made me lol out loud (to be honest, a real lol from me is few and far between, so it has to be really funny to happen.)

Randy's little 'could I take my doppleganger' thing was funny, and I felt bad when Monk was ordering him to get him a hot iced tea. I hope Randall got a card as well. And, the screen started pixilating during this, but was Randy checking Nat out after the whole Teegerb thing? Stupid friends cable. tongue.gif BTW, it's wokring fine now.

Oh...and did you catch the stare down at the end of Someone Else. Another Sharona-ish move. I swear Sharona would have done the EXACT SAME THING. Right down to the face. Hee hee.

Lola reminded me of a slutty Trudy, looks wise, and when she kissed Monk it seemed like she broke him. Good Rinsing action on Monk's behalf. His time with Trudy must've been magical.

And from what I could tell of next weeks show, it's supposed to have a strong Randy A or B plot. You wouldn't know it from the previews. Keep winnin' those awards, Tony. But I'm not bitter.

I'm sure Sharona could take a delivery guy. smile.gif I can't wait for the Sharona episode. I'd love to see how the ladies play off each other. That's gonna be sssssoooooo goooood!

Excellent! I loved how Stottlemeyer backed down to "Frankie's" stare down and, at the end, let Adrian know he "still had it in him" ... even though Adrian needed Natalie's "back-up" stare down ... I don't know if Sharona would have shown such finesse ... IMO, she would've yelled at the delivery guy and kept on yelling until he fixed the fridge.

Harold yelling: "Adrian! Adrian! Adrian! Adrian! Adrian! Adrian! Adrian! Adrian! Adrian! Adrian! Adrian! Adrian!" LOL!

Did the entrance to old Mr. Greenblatt's house look like the house in "Very Old Man" (the security guard's house with the snake)?

Anyhoo ... good for Adrian to hear: "Good job, Monk" from the FBI guy ...

I loved this episode! Funny and flowing! It's quite exciting till the end!
Yes he said Natalie instead of Trudy because he needed a real girl to show up with him. Also he probably thought she would help him as she's his assistant. Otherwise they don't match each other. They'd be the worst couple. No, they wouldn't even be that!

We saw something about Monk: how he's talented in acting, though he exaggerated like David in Actor episode. But you know he's Monk!

I noticed something. In the scene where he repeates the facts about DePalma, he says he's born to Helen and Joseph. Those are the real names of Tony's parents. And I see striking resemblance Tony to father and Michael to mother. I believe it's a real photo. Anybody see that?

I loved this episode very much after 802.

And I wanted to add how I missed seeing Leland and Randy! They didn't appeared this much on the others! Greatest Team back!

i was wondering the same thing with the DePalma family photo. I think it's definitely possible that that could have been a photo of Tony's real parents, i mean the have already used real Tony Shalhoub family photos before in the "100 episode".

Wow, a really great episode! I enjoyed it a lot! Monk saying: "Now I'm touching the lamp... I'm still touching it.." and !!!Harold Krenshaw!!! Poor man!!! Monk has got him this time!! And Natalie Teegerb??? This was really funny! I must agree, this season has been very Shalhoubish (and Howardish) so far! But since Tony is my favourite, I'm enjoying that a lot, really! I think it's easy for Tony to play a tough guy! But I didn't know Monk's character has such good skills as well! He's improving in each episode.

This season is just fabulous! The writers are not tired at all! like a good runner, who's run a long distance, but now when the finish line is close, he has saved some extra energy, to show the best he has!

Well, my first thought was that Monk would've said Trudy, then Lola would've told him that she wanted "Trudy" to come to the bar, then Natalie would've had to act as "Trudy". That would've seemed more Monk to me. It was so funny how he said, "She's pretty, we kiss all the time." then Lola asks what her name is and he says Natalie. Natalie's face is priceless!

Anyhow, I understand how the situation could be taken either way, but as a shipper I just like to think deep into it! (This scene also made me think of the Masterpiece episode when Monk painted Natalie as his "masterpiece" instead of Trudy. That was a big surprise to me!

But anyway, even though I know tons of people can't stand the idea of a Monk/Natalie relationship, I will always have an inclination towards the idea!!!! rolleyes.gif
