Hi everyone!

Tomorrow is the premiere of Burn Notice, yay! This also means the first ever BN forum meet-up is almost upon us. Yay again!

I spoke with Krocla on the phone yesterday evening. She is sweet and adorable and I can't wait to meet her. She arrived safe and sound and is settled into the hotel. She and her brother are doing a bit of sightseeing prior to the meet-up, which is very cool. Anyway, I told her that I would be setting up a thread where we can post about our adventures in DC. Hopefully she'll have a bit of downtime at some point and will drop by to say hello. I'm looking forward to hearing from other members along the way!

I'll be leaving for Arlington in the early afternoon tomorrow. I'll have my laptop with me (so that we can post to the forum following the premiere). I also will be tweeting along the way, so for those interested in following updates check http://twitter.com/philippaconnors (I'm guessing my first tweets will likely be photos of the Hyatt Arlington lobby as well as the restaurant where we'll meet; it'll be like a cyber bread crumb trail, ha ha). If there are others who plan to be on Twitter during the meet-up and you'd like to share tweets about the goings-on in DC, just post that info here and I'll add it to this post to make it easier for members to find. [just in case, I thought I'd mention that it is possible to view others' tweets without registering for Twitter oneself.]

I wish that I were an independently wealthy woman, as I would've surely rented out the entire hotel and had the entire community flown in - but I have a very good feeling that this will be only the first of many fun and adventurous meet-ups for us Burn Notice fans and we'll hopefully have opportunities to meet again over the show's nice long run.

This is just a quick update to say that I've spoken with Gilligansgirl, who has arrived in DC a-ok and is settled in at the hotel. Apparently they already had a fire drill. Let's hope there isn't one tomorrow night during the BN premiere - otherwise I'm pretty sure the firefighters will be forced to carry us BN fans kicking and screaming out of the hotel room. Anyway, she said the hotel is really nice and everything is going just fine. I'll be meeting her tomorrow afternoon in the hotel lobby (time depends on traffic situation, which is always dicey in the DC area). I will tweet once I get there.

I will be getting together with Krocla, Gilligansgirl, and BooJr for dinner (others may be joining us, I'm not sure about that).

mrohr is arriving tomorrow afternoon at Union Station; she's having dinner with a friend in the area, and then she'll be meeting us at the hotel for the premiere. DC area members BooJr, GolferGal, and AggieSarge will also be swinging by the hotel for the premiere. PCinDC, will you be attending tomorrow?

New member Sleep2Dream has been able to make last minute travel plans and will also be attending the meet-up, which will be awesome. She's arriving via Union Station.

FiRocks will be arriving later tomorrow evening.

I think that's all the current news. That, and there's a pretty big thunderstorm sweeping through DC right now...

I need to give Gilligansgirl a call tonight, so I'd better sign off for now. Looking forward to the premiere tomorrow night!!

Yep, same here with the thunderstorms. We've had thunder, lightening and rain on and off since about 12:30 p.m. I just hope it stops by at least 8:30 a.m. tomorrow, I sooo don't want my flight to be delayed because I'm cutting it pretty close as it is! YIKES!

Glad the meet-up became a reality. Hope everyone has fun. I am opting out of the DC event. I'm sure everyone will have lots of tales to tell.

I"m actually toying with the idea of still going down to DC, as the 7th I am off to a book reading down in SoHo. Yes I can make up my mind. Just undecided since allot is going on in the city.

I'm headed over to Arlington in about ten minutes -- I hope to be there no later than 4:30 or 5 pm (yes, I am only traveling 22 miles and hope to be there in two hours). *LOL* The weather is bad and who the hell knows what traffic will be like, so I'm planning for the worst case scenario. Best case scenario? I get there early and Gilligansgirl and I can catch a couple of Burn Notice eppies together. ;-)

BooJr - I am going to call you once I get to Arlington - I will let you know what the story is regarding the parking situation.

Those of you who may be looking for me in the hotel lobby or restaurant -- I have decided to wear this shirt. It's a crazy ass shirt and I figure I'll be recognizable in it. I'm a redhead with curly hair - but really, I think the tip-off is gonna be the shirt. *rolls eyes*

we're here, we're here, we're here!!!!! i'm still so excited!!! yes that's almost all i can say at this point! it's so cool being here. i've already shopped this a.m.! i've very concerned about the weather, the hotel has directv and um, the weather is soooooo not cooperating! if it stops raining we're good, otherwise, it seems to freak out! i've spent the afternoon watching the bn marathon, oh, and got to catch the regis and kelly show this a.m., omg did jd not look beautiful as usual! how sexy is this man!! he was smiling sooooo much! his teeth are so gorgeous, okay, that's one of my things (teeth), he's is gorgeous!! i'm repeating myself, sorry, i just love this show, got to go, still watching the marathon, oh, okay, phi is here in the room, dinner will be involved in a little while, but i don't know if we can miss the marathon......i need to take pics to share - i will do my best to take good ones! Okay, everyone - gilligansgirl is COMPLETELY, COMPLETELY adorable!!!! BooJr is here, just got here (and said that we were making a lot of noise). But it's because both Gilligansgirl and I -- get this, people!! -- be both played THE OBOE!!!!!! Holy CRAP! What are the freaking odds of that! She even made her own reeds! *stunned look* BooJr is incredibly witty and charming. She's so quick-witted!!

AggieSarge, Krocla, Gilligansgirl, BooJr and I all went to dinner at Ray's the Steaks - good food, and we had a great time (albeit we were pretty soaked by the time we got there). Mrhor ran into me in the lobby near the elevator - I walked past her as I was trying to call her and heard someone say my name - she said she recognized my crazy ass t-shirt! GolferGal is here as well - we're in the middle of a commercial and are having a blast. We've all been laughing along the way - great fun!

It was so nice to meet all of you! Even though my part in this meet-up is over, I want you all to know that I had a blast watching the premiere with you last night!!!

I wore pink jeans in honor of Mike's pink shirt on last night's epi (minus the price tag, of course) . Most of us stayed up late to watch the second viewing at 12:15. I got home at 2:00 and was up at 6:30 this morning. I may be a little tired, but it was worth it!

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend, and that you stay dry (as much as possible, anyway). I wish I could have met the other members who are coming into town today.

So I'm sitting here having breakfast with mrohr, who is a total brainiac. I think mrohr has forgotten more than I have ever known, I kid you not. She's also quite the engaging conversationalist, the kind of person who can walk into just about any conversation and be delightful.

We're running a bit late at the moment...but we'll be at the hotel in time to meet everyone. I'll be hanging back at the hotel and thus won't be taking the tour of the US Capitol -- I'm going to meet sigy26 when she arrives this afternoon, yay! Saqqara will also be arriving hopefully soon. Sister776 will be arriving this afternoon as well. I'm going to give her a call in a few minutes.

GolferGal, it was great seeing you last night! I didn't reply to your text as I know you don't have a texting plan -- thanks for letting me know you made it home a-ok. You, me, and Krocla will chat more about the press threads once the meet-up is behind us and things have settled down a bit.

Soonerlover, you are in my thoughts. And thank you for setting up the tour for the forum members for the US Capitol. I know everyone is going to have a great time.
