That's a myth perpetrated by WWE. Ratings change was insignificant, as was in other venues (live attendance, PPV buys). All that started falling, and continued to fall, once they started putting out overwhelming amounts of [censored] (coupled with turning Austin heel and losing Rock). Hence, why people are checking out TNA and UFC in such large numbers.

No it wasn't a myth.........and according to TNA's numbers people aren't checking them out in large numbers.....Spike TV is TNA's last hope...........they are losing money.

Huh? You mean the overrun? Trust me, they were going way past 5 minutes on Spike. And less than a million people watching TNA is not "large numbers."

On Spike, Raw would over run anywhere between 5 to a rare 10 minutes. Spike wanted Raw to over run, however, it keep the audience tuned in for UFC.

I have my DVR set to record 15 minutes after the set 10:05 ending because they almost always go longer than 5 after.

I'm of the opinion that the first two shows back on USA have been teh suck.

IMHO, I got to disagree with that. Homecoming was excellent TV. I could have done with a little more in ring action, but it doesn't take away from how entertaining the show was and the WW E is about entertainment.
The second show was no where near as crisp and continued to develop story lines as it's focus. It should have worked harder on developing the pure wrestling fan audience.
No matter what, if the two shows would have been on SPIKE -- it would have then started to, as you say, suck.

Here's the thing, if I wanted to watch Raw with 45 minutes devoted to the McMahons, I'd build a time machine.

I agree that the Austin segment went long. It was still quite enjoyable. However, while the segment did have the McMahon's in it it was devoted to Steve Austin and he's the one that controlled the time and he's the one that went long.

Except I don't want any of them on TV regularly. At all. Ever. And that goes double for Stephanie and Linda.

As that was the highest rated segment of Homecoming, there's MILLIONS of people who disagree with you. But you're entitled to your opinion. It's just not going to change the fact that the McMahons will be on the TV and regularly -- not weekly mind you, but regularly.

I really enjoyed the Austin segment at Homecoming. But when Steph came out last week, my heart sank, because the idiots at WWE couldn't tell the difference between warm fuzzy nostalgic feelings and real heat. No-one wants Steph or Linda on TV. Vince maybe, but his heel character was old years ago.
Bringing it all back is just a slap in the face to fans who have followed the WWE when all the casual fans left. Might as well have not watched the last couple of years because it was all meaningless - it's back to square one again.
Ratings keep going down, I can't be the only one who feels this way.
Showcase all the new talent you have, not an eight year old angle and a disagreement over who should announce the show.
When the show is crappy, it doesn't matter who's announcing. You can't polish a turd.
I had been loving Raw for the past year or so, I really thought they had turned the corner. I hope they stop this madness and start putting on good shows again...

It would have been a wicked awesome segment if it had ended with Shane's stunner.
