Thanks, Natasha.

I noticed Moon Bloodgood is scheduled for the Late, Late Show this week, on 5/26. Probably talking about T4, but she might mention Burn Notice.

I would think they would do more shows if they are in LA or NY. This is where the Miami filming works against them. But it also makes me wonder if they're just not filming for that part of the week if 2 stars are traveling.

Let me add my thanks for the intel, Natasha and Karendipitee! Since I will be in DC, I hope I will be able to watch each show!

I probably can't imagine the logistics of scheduling guests to appear on a talk show. Unfortunately, I don't always get the chance to watch Regis & Kelly everyday, but I have seen it in the past when a segment with a guest is taped ahead of time and played on a particular day. Of course, this is not always the case. Is Regis & Kelly still live on the East Coast? (I'm in the Midwest.)

Also, don't some talk shows usually tape a couple days worth of shows in a day? For example, I think the Ellen show is aired a week after it is taped.

Thanks NatashF for the heads up -- Now gotta remember to program the VCR or go w/o sleep on primere day laugh.gif

Much to do on June 4th.

Thanks for posting this. I don't normally watch the Late Late Show, so I'll have to remember to tune in. I can't wait to see Jeffrey on Regis & Kelly, that's going to be awesome and Anderson is co-hosting biggrin.gif

Thanks for the info on this, Natasha! This is a great thread - do you think it could become a place where all future talk show/interview appearances could be discussed? If so, would it be okay if I added it to the list of "press threads" in the Cliff Notes guide?

Also - regarding this:

Be on the lookout for more appearances! I'm hoping JD will get to do some more morning shows that day if he is already in NYC, probably NBC's Today Show & maybe GA will get to do more LA talk shows.

Edited: to add Moon on 5/26, thanks Karendipitee!

Forgive me, I cannot remember where Sister776 mentioned this off the top of my head...might've been the JD press thread. But my understanding from her is that Regis and Kelly will be filming their show from Miami in the first week of June. When she learned about this, she decided to e-mail the producer at Regis and Kelly, to let them know that Burn Notice filmed exclusively in Miami and that it would be great to give the show (and the city) the publicity by getting interviews with some of the cast members. Lo and behold, Jeffrey Donovan is now slated to be on the show! Yay!! Anyway, yeah - I don't think he'll be in NYC; I think Regis and Kelly will be in Miami when this interview takes place...

(sister776, correct me if I'm wrong on any of this...)

I'm not sure what sister776 said, but R&K were in Miami taping during the first week of May, and did nothing related to Burn Notice, which surprised me. I would be even more surprised if they were coming back down a month later, so I am assuming it will be in NY.

Yes, it would be great to add this the list of press threads in the Cliff Notes; then I'll keep the first post updated with appearances as they come up. I'll ask everyone to help out by adding posts here for appearances they know about, as they've already been great about doing smile.gif

Regis & Kelly does tape live in NYC/East Coast. As Karendipitee mentioned, Regis filmed in Miami in early May & they really missed the boat by not having any BN guests on then, but at least they have JD on now smile.gif

Some shows do tape a couple days in advance, Ellen generally tapes Monday-Thursday, with the show airing the following day. On Thursday, they tape two shows -- the episode that will air Friday and the one for the following Monday. Sometimes she tapes more shows in advance if she's going to be away (like she did when she hosted the Oscars, etc.). Most morning talk shows tape live (but some are passed off as live even when taped); most night time talk shows tape in the afternoon of the night the show airs (live to tape), and a lot of night shows only tape Mon-Thurs, so they'll tape 2 shows on one day. But each show might be different.

I think it was great that Sister776 emailed Regis about having BN on as guests. I think there had been some discussion in the past about emailing shows to get more BN cast interviews. At the bottom of the Late Night TV Page the contact sites/emails are listed for daytime & nighttime talk shows if anyone is interested. Most tv talk show sites have a "contact us" section that is usually pretty easy to find if you go to their site. I just emailed a few & asked if they could have BN actors on as guests. It can't hurt wink.gif

Phi, Regis and Kelly were live in Miami earlier in the month for four days. I emailed the show and the producer while they were in Miami about BN filming entirely in Miami and asking why they did not have anyone from the cast on for an interview. I was curious if the Regis and Kelly show were making good on that question now by flying JD in for an interview during the premiere week of Season 3.

Great job Sister776! Although I'm with you on why talk shows filming in different states wouldn't automatically search for local actors / artists to begin with. That would give them some diversity in who appears and when. I wonder what it's like to be the office professional for the scheduling director? Call X, call Y, schedule T on Thursday, cancel Y and schedule Q instead ...

Um, on second thought, maybe I don't want to know.
PhilippaConnors
Thanks everyone, for setting the record straight (regarding Regis and Kelly). I can't believe they were in Miami and didn't hook up with Burn Notice! Perhaps now that Jeffrey Donovan is on their radar, should they visit Miami again next year (and if the show is still filming in Miami) they can invite the whole cast on the show. I'll keep my fingers crossed, anyway. smile.gif

Thank you again for all the great info, everyone!

First a reminder of these Burn Notice appearances this week:
QUOTE (NatashaFatale @ May 24 2009, 02:00 PM) *
The Late Night TVPage has these following talk show appearances listed:

Wednesday, June 3 Late Late Show: Jeffrey Tambor, Gabrielle Anwar

Thursday, June 4
Regis and Kelly: Jeffrey Donovan, Denise Richards, guest co-host Anderson Cooper

Second,
What about requesting talk shows invite Jeffrey, Bruce, Gabrielle, and Sharon as guests onto their shows? We have just voted over 1200 for a twitter-universe poll. Would they pay attention if they received 50-100 requests?

I got the idea from Conan who is starting the Tonight Show on Monday. His new site has a forum where they are asking for guest suggestions. So I thought we could give him some good ones!

For Conan you register like joining the forum here. In fact, because it is on NBC (USA'a parent company) you can use your same e-mail and password as you do on this site and they will already know your ID here. For the first thread asking for guest ideas, they only have 22 responses so far. The direct link is Conan forum. What if we all write a request this week - for JD or even the whole cast? (It's easy, I did it and you will see me #22)

David Letterman was another good choice - although probably a week too late. He only has one guest listed for June 4th and we know JD will be right next door earlier in the day with the Regis and Kelly set. Any thoughts?

This spring I also wrote to Craig Ferguson a couple times and now Gabrielle will be on the show. I don't know that my few e-mails were enough, but I don't think they hurt.

LIST OF TALK SHOWS
1. Jay Leno .............................(NBC - USA parent)
2. Conan O'Brien......................(NBC - USA parent)
3. Jimmy Fallon........................(NBC - USA parent)
4. Last Call with Carson Daly.....(NBC - USA parent)
5. Late Show with David Letterman
6. Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson
7. The Daily Show with Jon Stewart
8. The Colbert Report
9. Jimmy Kimmel Live
10. The View
11. Live with Regis and Kelly
12. Tavis Smiley
13. The Ellen DeGeneres Show
14. Chelsea Lately
15. The Hour with George Stephanopoulos
16. The Bonnie Hunt Show
17. The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet
18. Charlie Rose
(I don't some of these, if they all are appropriate, or if they are all still on the air)

Additional info: show sites, e-mail addresses, weekly guests is here and with Natasha's quote ( Late Night TVPage).

Let me know what you think and if anyone wants to try it. Or even if you think it will work. If it sounds good, then maybe we could promote one talk show a week. Just a thought. I am open to whatever.

(additions and corrections made)

I had already made mention of Jeff being on Regis and Kelly. BUT, I guess I spoke too soon. I should have just waited for someone else to post it.

I guess I"m re-iterate, that I live a hop, skip and a jump from the studios but am not waiting in line at 5am to try and score tickets. SO, again, if anyone knows someone else other than myself who can get a few in PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I did have a frenemie who knew Gellman, I emailed him but with my luck he probably won't be of ANY HELP. I also stated that I was sure that Jeff would PROBABLY be in NY Wednesday night if anyone wanted to get together and go astalking the upper west side.

Did anyone see Moon on the late late show? The interviewer really didn't ask her about BN. The guy just went into a comedy thing. They did talk about T4, but not too much. I guess I'm not a fan of that show.
Summer_Fun
It might be well to check the morning shows, particularly The Today Show. When a friend "did the rounds" in New York promoting a story on a show he did (which was on NBC), he used to hit Regis and Kelly, The View and The Today Show after doing Conan the evening before. Conan's in LA now doing the Tonight Show, but the others are still in place. Given USA is owned by NBC, I wouldn't be surprised if they arranged something similar for Jeffrey Donovan. All three morning shows come from NY.

Not to be a smartie, but just so e-mail goes the right place, it's The Hour with George Stephanopoulos. Also, it might be well to add Charlie Rose to that list. He does a round table discussion of a topic that has a guest on for a half-hour, and will invite TV folks if a show is topical or cutting edge in some way. I case could surely be made for BN to fit those criteria. He's on PBS.

Great idea, DuctTape! i've added mine smile.gif

I watched Moon on the Late Late Show, too, but all Kilborn talked with her about were rattlesnakes & Christian Bale's rant... *sigh* I like Kilborn, but his interviewing is sometimes lacking. I hope when Gabrielle is on this week that he asks her some interesting questions & not the same 'ol same (ie Scent of Woman).

Thanks for the great idea DuctTape! I joined and added my post to have the actors from Burn Notice on the show (#24).

You said it so well Natasha about Moon's appearance on the Late Late Show (I even stayed up to watch it as I am usually asleep at that time) and like you, hope that GA's appearance this week will not just be about reminiscing A Scent of a Woman.....

I just saw you all wrote Conan to request he interview Burn Notice stars on the new Tonight Show!

I hope many others on this forum will be encouraged to do it now too. It's easy to sign up - and then you can just list the names of the BN stars and congratulate Conan on his new show. Since we have this new opportunity, they are just starting the guest thread, could everyone please write Conan O'Brien on the Tonight Show: Conan forum. smile.gif

BURN SHOW TALK SHOW APPEARANCES THIS WEEK
Wed.........June 3.........Gabrielle Anwar...........Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson
Thur.........June 4.........Jeffrey Donovan..........Regis and Kelly (Hosted by Kelly and Anderson Cooper this week)

I'm also wondering if we can help this week by sending e-mails to the talk shows where they are appearing and letting the shows know we support these actors and Burn Notice. Again, wouldn't 50 e-mails make them notice!!!!!. In fact, we hope the talk show hosts have seen at least an episode of the show or know what it is about.

I am concerned because I saw the other 2009 interviews and the hosts did not do their homework with JD, GA, and Moon (last week BN was not even mentioned)! This week the actors are not first billed - Gabrielle is second and Jeffrey is third - not even seen on the main web link. Can we help our actors get more respect?

You can e-mail Craig Ferguson of the Late Late Show: Craig e-mail..........(easy, you don't need to register)

The e-mail for Regis and Kelly: Regis and Kelly in-box...............................(easy, you don't need to register)

P.S. Thanks Summer_Fun for the spelling correction and additional talk show. I had copied the list from the link so I guess they misspelled it. I am happy for all corrections and insights. Anyone else with ideas, I'm all ears. Siggy, any thoughts?

You just did it (and so did I). Any post bumps a thread to the top of the non-pinned list. It gets pushed down as people post to other threads.

I did Craig and then Regis/Kelly. But, I wasn't wanting to have to sign up for another site to suggest the BN actors for Conan O'Brien. But, I'm on the Law and Order board (which is also NBC) and that email and password work on Conan's site. So, if you follow any NBC board/forum, it will be easy to drop by and plug our talented cast.

evelina69 sent me a text this evening - she e-mailed Michael Ausiello with this thread after he tweeted that he would be willing to receive questions via email. The above thread was started in early March and was basically a list of questions for the BN cast and crew (solicited by someone who posted and then never returned). They're great questions and I would still love to hear the answers. I submitted a couple that were similar to what tgirl had asked, as they were things I'd wanted to know (esp. regarding Paul Tei), but had asked in a much wordier way than she. *ahem* Anyway, I have no idea if Michael Ausiello will stop by, but just thought I'd throw this out here and include the link as an fyi...

I'm an hour behind you, I guess.
I never, ever watch talk shows, late night or otherwise, but I have to say this guy Craig Ferguson cracked me up in his monologue. I was laughing out loud. Then, he started interviewing his first guest and it was terrible. It was Jeffrey Tambour? (who's got a movie coming out but is totally lame), but Ferguson sure wasn't try to show him at his best.

Okay, well GA's interview up til the commercial break is over. She's being very funny with some quick comebacks. But, he acts like he doesn't have a clue. I can't decide whether he's just putting on or not. You would think he would know where she's originally from or that the DVD is from the past season. Mostly, he's into making jokes about her menstrual cycle.
After the commercial break, she's gone. And he's making a joke about how even at his great age, he still has the ability to piss a woman off. And he's making faces at the camera like ....wha? wha'd I do? He said it was just a joke but I wouldn't blame her for thinking he was a dork. Cause he was.

Cool about Ausiello - can't wait to hear about the interview.

Saw Gabrielle on Craig Ferguson. I usually like his monologues and he is the only talk show I watch - but online and usually just the monologue. Can't say he did the best with Gabrielle - in fact I think he pissed her off.

But he did start out by saying wonderful things about Burn Notice and showing a new spoiler clip. And she was lovely - and feisty.

I never watch Craig Ferguson--although I think he is funny--but what a crappy interviewer! He had no idea who GA was--"You're not American are you?" Excuse me? Does he not do ANY prep?

I think GA could tell he didn't know his elbow from his ear and was a little disconcerted--then, well, (ahem) pissed.

Who cares really--IT'S JUNE 4th!!!

Who cares really--IT'S JUNE 4th!!!

Wow. I didn't watch this interview because I'm at my aunt and uncle's house and they have a television set-up that vaguely resembles the inside of a 747 cockpit, haha, and I'm technologically inept. But I've got this stuff set up to record at home, where it'll be waiting for me after the meet-up.

So...this is what awaits me then. The "You're not American, are you?" question and apparently Mr. Ferguson's thoughts on the menstrual cycle? blink.gif

I'd say half of all interviews with GA that I've seen were conducted by talk show hosts and/or news anchors who were completely ill-prepared. I'm not sure why that is - although now that I'm thinking about it, I've seen her in more interviews than any of the other cast members...

[I have a question. I saw Jimmy Kimmel once (the JD interview) and just recently saw Regis and Kelly for the first time (it was okay). I watched Letterman as a kid and watched for U2 performances earlier this year, but haven't seen him do an interview in a long time. I'm familiar with Barbara Walters and Larry King more than any of these other people. Anyway, I'm not being facetious in asking this, honestly -- I'm asking because I don't watch talk shows and I haven't a clue. Are there ANY talk show host interviewers out there who do their research and ask thoughtful questions? I mean, besides someone like George Stephanopoulos?]

I've got the feeling that the BN cast (and many of those who are fans of the show) really aren't going to take an interest in this sort of publicity. I can't imagine Bruce Campbell in an interview situation like this...

Eh, this kind of appearance is for those who don't know the show. The interviewer just wants the person to be entertaining. The interviewee should be skilled at getting their plug across. At least we got to see a new clip!

I think you are right Karendipitee, both about the interviewer and the interviewee. We already bashed Craig so...
Being interviewed is a learned skill - just like acting. Looks like GA and JD need coaching and support - someone to prep them. Phi, I have seen BC, I think even on Craig Ferguson, and he has this skill - he does just great.

Last night GA had opportunities to turn things around. She did not need to mention her period and could have shared more how Fi channels anger and blows up armored cars, etc.

Also, GA should have been given some background on Craig Ferguson, esp. regarding citizenship. Craig is really on a kick with it - using it as part of his show pretty much since he started. In Sept he will release his 3rd book - and it's about becoming an American citizen. He even spoke about it at the White House Correspondents Dinner in 2008 when he was the featured speaker and sat at the table with President Bush.

But she was still lovely and there was a great BN clip right at the beginning.

I'm rooting for JD that things go better!

And good luck LuluNY in seeing him smile.gif

So right DuctTape--GA should have turned the conversation to BN. I'm not sure the show was even mentioned after the DVD went back on the desk. Didn't mention that the premier was tonight--Interview 101 kind of stuff--but she looked good.

I think GA got a brief mention of 9 pm tomorrow in there, before it all went south.

It really is an art, being interviewed well. Be funny, but not funnier than the host. I think she was better this time than in others I have seen, but you do have to know how to deal with a clueless host. I haven't seen Bruce interviewed, but from the interviews I've read, I think he gets it and knows what to do.

Well GA and JD probably have not had all that many chances to be interviewed - Burn Notice may be opening that door for them.

Latest twitter from JD 3 hours ago:

15 hours to go
I am in NYC. Going to Regis and Kelly soon.

Looks like it is time for Regis and Kelly!

JD just tweeted: "10,000!!!!! Wow.... Next goal Is reachable. 8 Million viewers!!!! About to to go on. r&k. Wish me luck."

YAY! but first we have to sit through Denise Richards on Regis&Kelly... darnit... now I'm going to be really late for work!

I didn't think I should dwell on it here so I went to the cbs forum site to talk about ferguson, who didn't even have the curtesy to look GA up on wikipedia. Wierdly, I had a word bleeped (like, replaced with ****'s) from my post which wasn't a cuss word or anything bad ... just adult. Too adult for a forum discussing the Late, Late Show, I guess. blink.gif
Anyway, I think GA tried to plug the show early on and even said the time but he was talking over her. She was being charming, I thought, and had some funny come-backs. My favorite moment was when they were talking about road rage in the car and then he was acting like a jerk and she said something about feeling road rage and she wasn't even in a car. Cracked me up.

I didn't see the interview last night... Doesn't sound like I missed much!

It was mentioned, so I looked it up on YouTube. I've seen this... Bruce Campbell rocked this interview, but he usually does. He's smarmy enough to know when to "nudge, nudge, wink, wink" and when to be more serious. Anyway, here's when he was on Craig Ferguson's show:

(Damn, the dude is so cool! Why can't I get to NJ on the 13th?)

JD looked hot hot hot on Regis! Got to see a new clip from tonight! wheeee!!!

Yes, he did. Nice pants. For anyone who has it on later, either not live or later time zone, JD didn't come on until about 40 minutes into the hour.

Loved the video clip of Will Ferrell saying his name and Jeffrey admitting he "curled up in a ball" and was excited that the TV was "talking to him" LMFAO laugh.gif

Also loved the audience booing after JD said he was a Red Sox fan. Admitting that in NY makes him a brave soul ;-)

Overall a really good interview. JD was very engaging and the hosts actually knew what the show was about. Who knew such a thing could happen on a talk show?! ;-)

Jeff looked very sexy! Man what a body biggrin.gif

maybe it's just that i am a little eager, but didn't the interview fly by? i mean it's a 50 min show, with two 5 min interviews. too much of the hosts, not enough of the guests. bummer. it's OK. tonite's the night!!!!
lovethatmonk
The interviews are always soooo short...why cant they just have JD as the only guest...I really dont like Denise Richards to start with...I would rather have him talk more about the show and maybe other things that interest him or Bruce or Gabielle...or anyone else on BN..

But yeah he looked hot in those white pants!!! Wooohooo!!! tongue.gif

Yes, it was a short interview, but SO great to see another new clip! I'm SO ready for tonight!!! biggrin.gif

Thanks for the "40 minutes in" tip, Karendipitee. I turned on the tv and was in and out taking care of things around the house--I didn't have to sit there the whole time and still didn't miss it! Only a few hours more now! smile.gif

It was nice to see JD. Liked the pants. Not so much the shoes with the pants.
I totally lucked out to watch this on a day when it was Anderson Cooper as co-host instead of Regis. I love AC.
Have to say I wouldn't have picked that clip to introduce a new audience to the slow. It was a snoozer. It explained why Michael wants to be a spy again (and we did get to see BC!), but an action sequence or a funny bit might have been better than 2 guys talking. I loved seeing it. But would it make a Regis/Kelly viewer say: I have to see this show? Hmm, hope so.
But Jeffrey was funny and engaging. And Anderson Cooper (unlike Craig Ferguson) had obviously looked up something about the interviewee so had something to ask JD.
