mad.gifI'm confused about Kutner, why kill him off and if so why suicide? That really messed me up, Nobody seen it coming, which is usually how suicide is, but, why????? It left to many questions unanswered, Fans want answers, we demand them.

Actor Kal Penn's character on the Fox show "House" - Dr. Lawrence Kutner - unexpectedly killed himself.

Popular television characters have been dying for years in stunning and unexpected ways, but few deaths have ever become the kind of instant communal experience that followed Monday night's suicide of Dr. Lawrence Kutner played by actor Kal Penn on Fox's "House."

The actor Kal Penn wanted to leave the show to go work in the White House, so they had to get him off the show and i guess suicide was the best way they could think of. That episode made me cry , especially at the end when they showed the funeral.

I just came to this site...after meaning to for quite a while. Besides the shocking plot twist of Kutner's suicide, "House" has many inexplicable (to me anyway--like the wholel Cuddy thing-ugh!) subplots and twists. But as for a character committing suicide: yes it's shocking when there's no warning--even more shocking than Amber's death in some ways. But perhaps someone on the cast or crew knew someone who had committed suicide...and that is always shocking. Rarely does anyone feel that "they saw it coming"!

It happened to the brother of one of my high school classmates and even he didn't see "the writing on the wall", though there was plenty of it (pages marked philosophy books and novels, etc.). As he said years later, about his father's death: "It's always sudden", which was how I felt about my own dad's drawn-out death via brain tumor; you're never ready for it.

Maybe that's what the creators of a show this intelligent were trying to shoot for. If so, they hit it spot on.

Sooo...what's Kal doing NOW?

He quit the show to go to work in the Obama White House. Check the link in my earlier post for the article.
