Hi, ygarza1967! Sharon Gless has expressed an interest in getting Tyne Daly on the show. Here's an excerpt of an interview Sharon gave TV Addict in July 2008:

QUOTE
So, do you sit there and go, ‘I have a son who’s a spy. Maybe he can come and take care of this little problem for me.’

[Laughs] Maybe! I don’t know, I have to wait and see. The very first… not the pilot, but then the first episode, I did get him involved with someone. A friend of mine. The neighbor across the street. And I’m trying to get Tyne Daly in here. Matt [Nix] says that he’d like to have her on the show.

That would be fantastic. That would be so cool.

Yeah. I want her to come and play my sister. Tyne is very funny and I said, ‘She can play my sister.’ Tyne smokes camels unfiltered, so… ‘The two of us could be doing this scene where we’re coming into the house and Michael comes in and he hates smoking. Hates it. And it would be very funny, because you can’t see anything in the house because it’s the two of us in there [mimes smoking].’ And I said, ‘Tyne, just come and play his aunt. My sister’s come to town.’ I said, ‘If you really want to get complicated, you could come to stay, and now he’s brought someone to put in my house.’ You know, he hides people in my house occasionally. So where do we put Aunt… Myrtle? Unless Madeline of course has to sleep herself and [GARBLED]. That was a fun one last year. Anyway, Tyne said, ‘I’d love it. I’ll do it, but I want to play her mute.’ Only Tyne Daly! And believe me, she’ll steal the show. And Matt said, ‘Nope, I don’t think so!’ Well, he wants to use her but…

Not as a mute.

Not as a mute, yeah. ...

Also, you can read more about Sharon Gless in this thread as well. smile.gif Hope things work out with Tyne Daly guest starring on Burn Notice! She's a great actress. smile.gif

Thanks for posting that interview Phi, ..."Aunt Myrtle", that would be funny, with a house full of thick smoke laugh.gif . Now if they could just get Betty White in the mix they'd have a hell of'a episode -- I'm thinking it could be part of Maddie's poker playing buds!! I bet that it would be great comedy!!

Oh well, my 2 cents.

Cats & Phi wouldn't it be a blast to be Mat Nix for one day, so you could belt out some great ideas and hope a few of them take. I wish we forum-ites had a wish to be granted, that'd be mine. smile.gif

P.S.
(Phi, I got caught up in the BN Interview threads you collected -- it really terrific that you grouped them all together for us. Thank you. And thanks to eveyone who contibuted, NatashF, evelina69, vestrokes, and the dozens of other's who I left out (sorry).)

What a great idea! They are so good to together. Let's hope Tyne Daly guests she's a wonderful actress. smile.gif

Yes yes! That is a capital idea.

Not only do Gless and Daly have that history, Daly is a fine actress as well.

LOVED her in "The Enforcer." Eastwood great, but Daly was intense.

Remember that scene near the end in Alcatraz? One of the bad guys is not taking her very seriously when she orders him to drop his weapon and show his hands.

"You laugh at me you bastard and I'll shoot you where you stand."

GOLD.

I totally agree Tyne Daly was great in The Enforcer. She's also done Gypsy on Broadway and Judging Amy. Let's hope they bring her on the show. Her and Sharon Gless are a wonderful team. biggrin.gif
