I want to be somewhat surprised so I didn't read the whole article. I say keep it in the General thread so it can be easily found to read later. Siggy, your questions gave Matt Nix and Kevin a chance to open up and talk freely about the creative direction for the show and characters, as well as the effects. Great article. I love digging around in Matt Nix's head. And there's an amazing amount of hints in there about what is going to happen next season. I thought it was funny that Nix gets a little confused himself about the half seasons....he's talking about the second half of the first half....LOL.

Do you think there should be warnings at the top of each of the press threads about spoilers? I mean, I should think everyone would be aware of the fact that there may well be spoilers when reading interviews with the cast and crew - but if people think I need a disclaimer at the top of each press thread, I can add that...

Maybe a general spoiler disclaimer might help. I'm trying to add them when I think of them (or when someone reminds me, thanks krocla ).

Also, I'm wondering about other articles that all come from the same conference call. Should we add them too? When it's mostly a transcript, they should all be the same, and I would just as soon keep Siggy's first and skip others. Here's an interview with Matt Nix by Alan Sepinwall. It appears to be a real interview, not that conference call from the other week. On a quick scan, maybe mild spoilers, but not really.

I particularly liked this interview for the insights into the process, the foundation, and direction of what he sees "Burn Notice" as (and what it isn't). I also like somewhat the concept of taking something we've seen (like a bank heist) and turning it on its head to present it as we've never seen before. I think that is what I've come to expect about BN (and Michael Westen)--that it won't be the same old thing, even if the concept is familiar

So Matt Nix confirms what we knew all along---Fiona has the money!

Thanks for posting. Matt Nix is a sweetie. Gotta love him - "the smart guy in the room".

I was struck by his mention of "the cadence of the lines". It's something I've noticed since the very beginning, the VO after he spoke with his mother for the first time (and vented his frustration into the pillow). There are many, many times I've been captivated by the way a line sounds, the rhythm of it in the context of the conversation. Truly admirable. (I think that might have had something to do with my feelings about the first episode of season 3. Some of the lines felt out of sync and a little forced. If that's what they were trying for, then bravo, it worked.)

I have added the disclaimer about spoilers to the top of this thread, as well as the disclaimer about the content linked from other websites.

Spoiler information was included to the entry for USA Network videos with Matt Nix - but I wish to offer my opinion on this: I believe that the disclaimer should suffice in terms of members being forewarned. I am really not gung ho about adding "spoilers/no spoilers" to every single bibliographic entry - especially in a situation where the odds of reading/hearing about a spoiler are pretty self-evident (i.e. Matt Nix video interviews on season 3 clearly contain information about things that haven't yet aired). That is my own opinion and of course I do respect the opinions of those who feel differently about this.

At any rate, for the time being, here's what I've decided to do to make things easier. If members wish to denote spoiler info then include that information in your post. A huge Congrats goes to Matt Nix on this. He is one hard working man. That is for sure. I loved that he made sure to say that BN is his priority, that its his baby and that he loves it. I'm guessing this is going to be a mid season replacement type for Fox so perhaps it will air in the winter of 2011 or so. Either way, I can't wait to see whose cast.

Great news for him and all of us. Another Matt Nix brainchild to watch and enjoy.
