Awww, thanks everyone! I know I for one have been stymied in the past when looking for older interviews (when the search engine is being fickle) - so here's to hoping this helps all of us keep track of things! It was a lot of work and I admit, I felt a bit down because I haven't been able to chat much around here as of late (as whenever I was online I was working on this project).

Did you notice in the first article, Jeffery says he's moved to Florida now? Hm. . .

I did notice that, Maria417 - that's very interesting. As someone who has lived in Florida, I can completely understand why he loves it so much. There are a lot of terrific people in Florida -- very friendly, low-key, from many different ways of life. It's absolutely, stunningly beautiful. Granted, I lived on the west coast of Florida -- but I cannot imagine that the Floridian east coast isn't equally beautiful. I'm just hoping that Cuba will open up to Americans for travel during my lifetime! One of my grandfathers was stationed there during WWII, amazingly enough.

I've added the following entry to the BN press thread for Jeffrey Donovan. [I've also sent out an e-mail to a member who I know lives in the Tampa Bay/ St. Pete area, so they'll be aware that it's taking place; let's hope that they can attend! ]

What an absolutely fantastic article that was. Its just so clear how much Jeffrey is loved and respected in Amesbury. He is truly their hometown boy. Towards the end of that article, I was just smiling from ear to ear when Patty Hoyt talked about how much she was looking forward to seeing him take the school stage again. And how the kids are looking forward to him coming. I can imagine that its going to be an emotional day for everyone.

The AEFI site promises more photos to come. Can't wait. Jeffrey looks absolutely wonderful and beaming. He looks really happy.

The whole event must have been great for him. Probably lots of old friends showing up and I bet his family was so proud of him. I'd love to see somemore pics - hope they post them soon.

The local paper has an article with more specifics about JD's donation to AEFI, but no photos or interview.

I'm glad that last article was posted already. I read it this morning and was coming over here to put it up. Its just SO wonderful what he is doing and why and how. I love that he gets to watch footage of the applicants and makes the final decision on who it should be that wins for that year. I love that he is doing it so that other kids have the opportunity available to them that he clearly so treasures and heralds as being so important to his career ultimately.

It sounds like even aside from the donation, just the time to chat with the kids and meet with them did everyone a great deal of good.

OH, they also mention that a little video presentation was done about each person being honored. How remarkable must that have been for him. I'm sure his mom and other members of his family were there. It sounds like it was a glorious day.

Not only was the scholarship a wonderful gift from Donovan, which will continue to give for at least for ten years - and inspire perhaps for their lifetimes...
but I was touched by how thoughtful the assembly was for all the students to be mentored and inspired by all the honorees.

Jeffrey is really one hell of a guy to be donating his time and efforts to raising money for this cause. The students are very lucky to have such a caring alumnus.
