I received a wonderful note this morning from a member who expressed an interest in seeing the notes left by Matt Nix and our beloved BN writing team "pinned" to the top of the page. They are the reason this member began to read and post to this community (which is wonderful, as it's been great having them posting here). I'll send a note to USA_Admin and see what happens.
Edited to add: Wow!!!! This is awesome! Thank you, USA_Admin!!!
And if I may plead my case: please treat our beloved Burn Notice writers with respect, 'kay? They are valued members of our community and we think the world of them. And to the writers - should you drop by again during season 3 (which we all very much hope), just continue to post new threads; I'll just update this thread along the way.
And now, without further adieu - behold the delightfulness of the Burn Notice writers!!

I've edited my original post to ask people to treat our beloved BN writers and creator Matt Nix with respect. I'm hoping that Burn Notice fans who come upon this site are as kind and gracious with them as I think they will be.
Here's to hoping that this garners much-deserved accolades and kudos to the BN writing team!

I just don't want any of these terrific threads to get lost along the way. They're too wonderful.

Okay - so I just wanted to let everyone know that I've now added the blog entries from the writers, which they did for season 1 of Burn Notice. They were a fabulous read. I hadn't read them since I first came across the forum last summer, so that was a lot of fun. I've also added the thread about Tod Goldberg's contest for the signed copies of his book. Wish we could all win that contest!

Don't know where else to put this so here goes, if it's already been suggested then sorry!
In Burn Notice there are a lot of pearls of wisdom said by Michael Weston, any chance of a book in the vain of worst case survival guides, or the Indiana Jones one, with them all brought together?

Please?

Hey All:
Just wanted to thank you for a great program, there are so few these days. It truly is filled with incredable writing and acting.
I thought I might also write about a true Burn Notice. I wasn't a spy nor was I drugged and dropped in the middle of Miami but I did work for the military for 20 years and when I resigned from the military and started work for the US Postal Service (the same day), the military told the postal service I was fired and the USPS fired me. I wasn't fired from the military (Honorable Discharge) but the government is the most honest company to work for. Also the military says I only have 19 years 11 months a 27 days, 3 days short of a retirement. My forms (DD Form 214) show 20 years, 1 month, 29 days but again our government isn't the most honest. I do have a court case coming up but which may help me but again the government isn't the most honest company to work with. You know, US Court, US Judge US attorney's (Probably many) and me with no attorney. And the government not being the most --- Well you know. Anyways this stated 14 years ago so I would tell Michael he has many episodes to go.
Anyways, you may be able to incorporate a good story line similar in one of a future episodes.
You all are incredable talents, Actors, writer alike. Please let me know if I could help been out of work for 14 years now could use the money.
Thanks for listening.
Ted

Hey Guys:
Here's one that almost writes itself. I relize you dislike immensely taking ideas from non pro writers but just think about the possiblities.
Imagine: Peter Graves (1970 Mission Impossible) or Tom Cruise drops in on Michael running from attackes on 4 or 5 fronts (Our Gov., Maybe Noriega, Maybe Bay of Pigs Cuba, China and or North Korea????? Gets Michaels help and gives Micheal a little insight of 30 years on the lamb and a little of the futility fighting all the government at once???? Maybe in the end Micheal has the resourses, knowledge skills and abilities that Peter never had and sets him up with new ID, maybe fake death, gets everone to back off and has access to more records for himself that Peter helps him with.
I think you have a lot of possiblities and keeping the McGyver thing going is extremely important. Being an degreed Electrical Engineer I know how musth fun it is coming up with things from nothing. Here are a couple of things that would really wow your audiance and keep it exciting at the same time make it usable in real life.
1. Lug nuts loose on car, wears holes on rim too lare to bolt back on in middle of nowhere with no phone: Jack up car, take off lug nuts (If missing get one from each of other 3 wheels) Put bad wheel on , take a wire coat hanger and wrap around each lug bolt in a weave pattern, put on lug nuts and tighten with wrench. That will get you 50 miles to a gas station.
I've actually got hundreds of them but I wouldn't want to give you all my secrets, we may be competing one day.
Thanks again, Hope I've helped.
Ted

Yea, Wel you know how writters are they're like Bitchy little girls.. They already know everything, especially don't need help from amatures because everybody but them are amatures and will go do drowning in pitty before using any information.
The last episode goes to show how far down it is starting to spiral. No though at all went into it, no real Mcguyver stuff and hardly any real action. I guess they are taking a break from creativity.
I don't imagine the show will last much longer. How sad would that be if the little girls all quit.

Hi KellyK

Writer Ben Watkins, who wrote the fantastic episode
3.7 Shot in the Dark,
posted here in the 3.7 Episode discussion thread on 7/25/09 - you can read what he wrote there

I think it's easier for the writers to join us during the winter episode airings, since they are shooting/writing all during the summer.

The show has been renewed for S4 so it will last at least another year. The last episode was the best it has been since S1 and it does not need all of the "Mcguyver stuff" or explosions & car chases to make it good (although i do like to see that stuff) .It is the relationships & the acting & the writing of those relationships that makes it good and that is what the last episode was about.
I just wish the writers would jump on here and talk about the Micheal slapping Fi in the face scene. I would like to hear their thoughts on why he chose to do that.

Thanks for a great mid season finale.
I want to make a suggestion before the DVD for Season 3 goes into production. Season 1 had comments from the main characters. Would it be possible to do so for the seadon 3 DVDs? I know the season 2 had a tight timeline constraint. I'm just putting it out there so the powers that be can take it into consideration.
The commentaries from the main characters added more to the show - not that we did not appreciate it Season 2 commentaries from Mr. Nix, the writers and guest actors.
Just a thought!!
Thanks for all the hard work for putting this kind of a show. I know there are a lot of people (logistics) involved- so my thanks again to All of you who bring us this show!!

The Burn Notice writers outdid themselves with the mid-season final, Long Way Back. That one has to go down as one of the best, if not THE best episode so far. Thank you for another great (half) season. We're all looking forward to January. However, since January is so far away, I'm hoping that you and USA will follow the lead of The Closer and 24 and give us a two hour episode during the break. USA has done it with Monk at Christmastime. The Closer's two hour episode also aired in December. It would be a great Christmas present for the fans. You''ll probably say that it's too late to do it this year but it is certainly not too late to work it into Season 4.

A question for Mr. Nix,
I noticed on IMBD that you developed a movie called Singularity. Was the based on the children's book by William Sleator?
Also, CAN'T wait for Chasing Vermeer! My students LOVE that book!
MsSully
I am editing this in hopes that Mr. Nix will read this. I mentioned to my kids that Chasing Vermeer was a possibility and they had TONS of questions about how you could do this. They thought it would be difficult. I was hoping that I could send on some of their questions. They thought it was great idea to make a movie!
