[PIERRE DESPEREAUX] Handsome, sophisticated, with a mischievous glint in his eye, Pierre Despereaux is a world-class art thief, who's been frustrating Lassiter's attempts to capture him for years. Elegant, confident, Despereaux is more amused than threatened by Shawn's efforts to bring him down, and is relaxed even when face to face with Shawn in a restaurant or hotel room. [STAFF SERGEANT HUGH MACKINTOSH] A boyish, fresh-faced, extremely polite Canadian police officer who still believes that great things happen to good people, MacKintosh takes down Shawn's information about sighting famed art thief Pierre Despereaux on the skiing slopes. MacKintosh is impressed with Shawn's apparent psychic abilities not just because he's somewhat naive and optimistic, but because he's open-minded to new techniques--in fact, he's got a lot of new ideas himself that are continually shot down by his superiors. MacKintosh goes out of his way to help Shawn and Gus get their man, but things go wrong, and he gets fired sptv050769...GUEST STAR (9)

[COMMISIONER ED DYKSTRA] In his early 60s, bullish but jolly, possibly not too competent, Dykstra is the RCMP commissioner who's instantly impressed with Shawn's psychic abilities when Shawn "guesses" that today's his birthday. Dykstra fully believes Shawn's inflated representation of his own rank, and infuriates Lassiter by referring to Shawn as his superior. Despite Dykstra's initial enthusiasm for Shawn, he gradually becomes skeptical of Shawn's ability, and eventually joins with Lassiter in what he thinks is a "good cop/bad cop" interrogation of Shawn...GUEST STAR (13)

Cool! I wanted to see the Extradition: British Columbia first! I remember in Season Two that they shot Psy vs. Psy first but was aired third after American Duos and 65 Million Years Off!

Hey guys, thanks for the great response - he was awesome when he dropped by - really funny and dry, and maybe a bit underslept, a bit like Shawn actually - two things he told us that didn't make the vid (sorry if this has been covered before) he's going to direct another episode this season and Rachel Leigh Cook is coming back.

It's pie-in-the-sky but I hope Dulé drops by once the show starts up again!

Agreed! I think it makes more sense that they would want a recognizable name as the bad guy to start the season with, and Shawn and Gus have definitely earned a vacation and want to take it ASAP. I wish poor Lassie-face would take one; he's more than earned it, too!

Episode 4.05: Shawn Takes a Shot in the Dark


STORY LINE
While investigating a possible crime, Shawn stumbles upon one of a pair of criminals, gets shot, and is dumped in the trunk of a car...

[OLDER BROTHER / MECHANIC] 40-50 years old, the older of a pair of brothers, an imposing but easily manipulated man, he's a Special Forces veteran with sniper training, currently working as a mechanic, who's been roped into his brother's somewhat wild plan to rob a Brinks truck. Under his brother's thumb both intellectually and psychologically, he's recently fallen in love with a beautiful redhead, and thinks that a robbery might give him a chance at a fresh start in life with a beautiful woman. Not very good at thinking quickly under stress, he's in the middle of executing his brother's scheme to weld a false bottom onto the Brinks truck, when Shawn stumbles in on him -- and he reacts badly, shooting Shawn and dumping him in the trunk of his car. Berated by his clever psychopath of a younger brother, who regards Shawn as excess baggage that needs to be killed and dumped, the Older Brother in fact has no interest in killing anyone ever again -- an attitude that gets him killed...LEAD (16)

[YOUNGER BROTHER / GAS STATON ATTENDANT] 30-40 years old, the Younger Brother, less physically imposing, he's the brains, guts and will of the family; unfortunately, he's also a psychopath with a vicious and menacing streak, who thinks the quickest solution to every problem is a bullet in the brain. Having come up with a scheme to use his older brother's job as a maintenance mechanic to cut a hole in a Brinks truck and use it as a point of entry, he's intensely displeased when Shawn literally stumbles upon his scheme. Wishing that Shawn were simply dead and gone, he winds up taking Shawn hostage when his plans start to unravel -- and after he murders his own brother for being too simple and stupid a criminal...LEAD (25)

I have no words lol. Although, I have a feeling he's just going to be grazed by a bullet or something. Nothing too crazy, but our friendly Psych writers may surprise us big time I suppose. You never know.

The casting bios are pretty intense though. Man, I cannot wait!

HOLY CRAP!! I just read the spoiler for episode 5 and I started hyperventilating because it sounded so intense!! I cannot wait

I am absolutely going to go crazy before the new season starts and we get to see all these amazing episodes. I don't know why I torture myself like this! I think I must be a bit masochistic...

i'm with you there. i have enough stress in my life, i really shouldnt add to it. but at the same time, i can imagine what will happen and it tides me over until the new episodes come.

someone should do a pre-season fanfic for that story. if i had any writing abilities at all, i would do it. but i dont.

oh and masochist is my favorite word. i use it way too much

I'm very much so looking forward to this episode. Alright, I'm looking forward to the entire season obviously. It does make me happy to know that this episode is written by Berman. Andy is a really talented writer and he always brings about new plot and storyline development.

As far as Shawn getting shot, as I said earlier, I'm not expecting anything too outrageous. I'm thinking he's going to get grazed and it won't be as intense as they make it out to be. I do believe we might get some wonderful Shawn & Juliet moments in this episode, because those tend to be a staple in all of Andy's scripts. You never know though, they may throw a curve ball and have it be even more dramatic than An Evening with Mr. Yang.

Agreed about Berman. I can usually pick out an episode he's written before I actually pay attention to the writer's credit. His episodes are always great!

Shawn getting shot can't be too serious; this is still Psych and I don't think they'd go that far with the drama. I do, however, have to disagree with you and hope it brings some great Shawn and Abigail moments. I really hope she lasts until at least episode 5 next season! Longer would be appreciated, though.

Regardless, I'm crazy excited for this episode and the entire season. I just wish they would have an exact premiere date already...

I can't wait to see Gus's reaction to Shawn being gone. Although I think Shawn is the clingier one in their relationship (not intending to sound slashish, seriously), Gus cares about Shawn deeply as well and I'm interested to see how he deals with it. Also fingers crossed for lots of Shules moments this season.
